I just finished watching it!! I had no idea Jason Behr was in, since I am a huge Roswell fan, I'll watch him in anything! I would have seen it sooner if I had known. And Raimi!! I love him too. First in Hercules than in so many other things!! Okay, onto the movie. The major thing that I didn't like was the way that it jumped clear off of Sarah, than onto a new plot line. Which was boring and not scary :p 1/3 through the next few scenes I realized what was happening and I didn't mind it as much, telling the things out of order... The kid is freaking scary(looking)/disgusting. The characters genuinely looked terrified throughout the movie, that is a plus. And on the way up the elevator I knew it was going to be there following her.. I just can't believe she didn't see it, that freaky little thing. That was a bit scary. Not scary on the film :P Scary as in, I would be scared TO DEATH if I saw it, or if 1/10 of what happened, happened to me. The shower scene when the hand was coming out of her head was gross! Than.. Yoko's mouth was utterly ..shall i say it again gross.. Every time they left Sarah though I felt a big , noooo!! More Sarah! Because I am watching ti cause she's in it.

When Sarah got to that house after her boyfriend arrived, after that I got lost.. confused, than eventually got a few things, not all. When the person was hanging and we got to see a glimpse of what happened, it was sad, but not sadder than Sarah's cute face being afraid. And when Doug died. Not a great part in the movie for me... Almost makes his character a tad pointless and unused. Sarah does sad so well, it's sad to watch her being sad. The very end was the only scary part in the movie.. I mean the very last seconds. I think the movie was more of an 'ew' than an 'Ahh!' If that makes any sense?

I think I'm more of the 'Bam' scared ya, I didn't feel that too often during this one. Have I 'grown' or something, or was this movie not that scary? If it was scary, I wasn't too scared.. I tend to steer clear of Horror flicks but wanted to see it since SMG was in it. Also I wanted to know what I was missing. Maybe tomorrow I'll check out the second one, or Suburban Girl, got them both from block buster in the mail. Anyways :) I didn't hate the movie, I'll say it is somewhere around a 5 to a 6, out of 10.

What did you guys think about the movie? Did you love it? Hate it? Ignore it? Not hate nor love it?

Terrified. Me.
Most horror movies do though. (Not the gore-fest ones though. Those just kinda...ick me out) And this one just had such an even scarier edge to it. The ghosts and images etc were all terrifyingly surreal at the same time at being unbelievably real which I think made it even more scary.
And it actually had a story! Horror movie with a plot line! We don't get many of those anymore. Albeit this story was COMPLETELY non-linear, but I liked that also. It was different, very Japanese admittedly- but the Japanese do know how to do horror god dammit. Haha. And this film just generally worked. Freaked you out on all the right pyschological levels at the same time as going for the simple 'BOO!' moments.

Definitely one of the scarier horror movies. I'll admit I have to turn the DVD cover away on the shelf so the eye isn't looking at me.....

I think a lot of the success that this movie had was due to the loyalty of Sarah's fans. I know that I would not have seen it otherwise. It's just like all of the slasher movies where every time a couple sneaks off to be alone and do something immoral, they get killed, and nobody learns from it. They still keep pairing up, sneaking off, and getting killed.

"Grudge" was just so predictable that it was boring. Possibly it's a cultural thing. I never could see anything entertaining about some guy in a turtle suit beating up some guy in a lobster suit, all to the detriment of Tokyo's architecture.

I do the same thing!

I think I'm gonna watch Ju-On now! It's the original Japanese movie that the Grudge was based off of. I've heard that it's even scarier than the American version!
