TNT has picked up Steven Bochco's drama pilot "Raising the Bar" to series.

The cable network has ordered 10 episodes of the legal drama starring Jane Kaczmarek, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Gloria Reuben, which revolves around young lawyers who have been friends since law school but now work on opposing sides.

Created by Bochco and lawyer-writer David Feige, author of the 2006 book "Indefensible," the ABC Studios/Bochco Media-produced project co-stars Melissa Sagemiller, Currie Graham, Teddy Sears, J. August Richards and Jonathan Scarfe.

Bochco's son, director Jesse Bochco, helmed the pilot for "Bar," which was written by Feige. Steven Bochco is executive producing the series.

"'Raising the Bar' is the sort of smart, highly charged legal drama for which Steven Bochco is known and an ideal fit for our line-up," Turner's top content executive Michael Wright said. "Steven and the exceptional cast and crew he's assembled have put together an excellent drama, and we're proud to add another talent-rich, entertaining series to the TNT schedule."

"Raising the Bar" is one of four pilots TNT greenlighted last year, along with "Leverage," "Truth in Advertising" and "Family Man," which remain in contention for a series pickup.

haha I guess a million ;)

But he's great, and I like watching court type shows, even if after a while they get repetitive.

But tnt? I haven't turned on that channel in months, now I'll have a reason.

Is it really bad that I wanna watch this show, not just for J., but for the fact that Mark-Paul Gosselaar is in it? lmao

Did anyone watch this tonight? I was unimpressed, I'll still give it a few more episodes to fully make up my mind but it just wasn't great, rather predictable too I thought. J. August wasn't featured very much in the pilot but it looks like next episode he'll have a more prominent story line so we'll see. The judge (mom from Malcom in the Middle) was just such a bitch too, I need to like to hate characters not hate hate them so that might be a deterent for me if they dont give her another dimension than just being heartless. And Oh god Zach Morris' hair needs to be changed ASAP, its badness was just way too distracting.

I'm watching it right now... and I am losing interest, quickly. I want to see more of J! Anyways I think I will watch next monday because it looks like J will be in it more so it may be more appealing.

Don't tell me. They're focusing more on the long-haired stud. Am I right?

Well he is pretty much the main character so they kinda have to. J. was featured more prominently in the 2nd episode and it was actually steps above the pilot quality wise... and it kinda hooked me too cause it also guest starred Percy Daggs III (Wallace from VM) and Wilson Cruz (Ricky from My So-Called Life). So I'm not ready to write it off completely yet, it has potential. They still REAllY need to give Zach Morris a haircut though!
