Spike in 'School Hard' has to be the best. crashing through the sign and the "Home, sweet home" still gives me goosebumps now.

Glory's was awesome, 'cause we were expecting some big ass demon to be behind the doors, not someone like Clare.

but i think my favorite entrance has to be Gunn in 'War Zone'. the vampire running from some unknown person, the black coat flapping, who didn't think it was Angel? and then the line "You expecting somebody else?" loved every second of it.

Kendra had a good entrance, not the best but good i thought it was worth mentioning, the whole "she's an assassin!" fake out. AND she had an even better second entrance when she was testing Buffy's reflexes!

I guess I should agree that both Giles in "Two To Go" was fabulous, there is no denying that.

I thought Spike made amazing entrances in Season 2, Season 4 AND on Angel. He's just good at making an entrance.

But, I have some other ones that left an impact.
Dawn...because she really TICKED ME OFF at first. I was SO MAD at Joss for making me think this show was different and then letting me down. And then, of course, he didn't let me down. It's hard to forget that feeling. It was the "What? Huh?....." and then a bunch of cussing.

But as far as DRAMATIC entrances....Illyria may have to take the cake. Who else can say they did away with a favorite character on the way IN....AND didn't end up being absolutely hateable in every way?

Also, I think both the subtlety and abruptness of Dawn's first appearance works very well.

And though it was long spoiled for me - Drusilla's sudden arrival to sire Darla in 'The Trial' ranks as both a highly memorable and heart-breaking moment in ATS. It's such a shame Dru was never brought back to the present day storylines to torment Angel and Buffy in both their shows.

Spike never failed to make an impressive entrance, and though most of you will probably disagree, Xander on that stupid skateboard in "Welcome To The Hellmouth" has just always stuck with me.

DEFINITELY WITH NO DOUBT...
Giles right at the end of s6's "Two To Go"! It was just an amazingly strong entrance that made you do a double take (and/or cheer ;) ) and I was so surprised. Timing was perfect, just wow!

'I'd like to test that theory" with the Ripper look and all--- couldn't have been better! :thumbs:

i agree. that scene was well played out. the director had us thinking that there was some huge ugly big bad behind the doors; then the doors blew off of their frames and as the dust settled, there was only a hot, sexy vixen standing there.

And I have to agree 354% with the Wesley entrance in Angel - I was a mix of stunned and delighted with the whole "rogue demon hunter" deal. Awesome.

Spike in Lover's Walk. And yes, I also agree with his Angel entrance, I cried tears of happiness (on the inside) when he un-flamed and appeared.

Andrew coming back in Conversations With Dead People (i so love that character, he stole every scene he was in in S:7), and his very short stint in Angel S:5, he's all the watcher-in-training and ladies man... HAH! He just rocks.

And yes... Giles' testing of that theory was spanktastic.

Faith, Spike, Giles in 'Two To Go' and something no-one has mentioned, Tara. I like the way she was just sat in a room, the shy one who wouldn't speak, then spead it up two seasons she's part of the main cast, I like the way she seemed to slowly come into it. Not exactly a dramatic entrance, but that's why I like it :)

I am kind of partial to Spike in Angel season 1 - I think its called In the Dark or something like that. I cant remember if that is the first time we've seen him in Angel yet, but without a doubt, it is the best thing in that season. The way he mocks Angel? Pure comedic genius right there.... I get tears every time I see it!

Then as soon as the vampires leave with the women his facial expression changes, his whole attitude shifts, and then he walks out of the bar like a hunter after his prey. The trenchcoat bellows and it gives off this all "Batman" motiff that still makes me whoop while watching it.

While the return of Giles "testing the theory" can't be beaten... I wonder why nobody yet mentioned the first appearance of The Trio. Heavens, we're talking JONATHAN - who, at least for me, was much more immediately recognizable than Warren - as the (presumed) Big Bad of the Season!!! Sitting with these guys in a basement really not at all unlike the one I used to play RPGs in with a couple of just as geeky guys at school! Laughed myself silly at that!

I noticed it was mostly bad guys. people like Reilly oz and Tara just sort of snuck in low key.

Faith was a great entrance too. and of course Spike and Dru, 'me and Dru, were moving in'.
My favorite entrance was Caleb though, just this preacher appearing and giving the girl a lift, saying 'd'ya think maybe it because your a whore', i was like, wow, whos this freak, you just knew from the off he was going to interesting and stir things up.

Well, since I haven't replied there yet I might reply just here (as I hope the threads will get merged anyway)

I loved Spike's entrance in 'School Hard', pretty much the whole episode. Here we still have Spike as this tough, nearly unbeatable vampire, and that was kind of cool. Also, same episode, I liked Drusilla's entrance. Spike was really making an impression, talking about killing slayers and everything, and then there came Drusilla, bringing out a completely different side of him. Well, I liked it.

My fave character entrance is spike in school hard...fantastic entrance! love the way he knocks down the sign when he comes to sunnydale, when he gets outta that car i remember thinkin ooooooooooer a new baddie! he means business LOL!
