I saw this on TWOP and decided to post it here.

What opinions do you have about Buffy that most people would disagree with? (ie: I love Kennedy! Okay, so maybe I don't love Kennedy, but whatever.)

Season 6 was my favorite season. I loved the trio (minus Warren...but yeah) and I ADORED Evil Willow.

I loved Andrew. He was hilarious, and I always thought he was one of the best-looking guys on the show. I thought he was better-looking than Angel was in the later seasons...and I liked his voice for some strange reason.

I liked Spike in season 2, LOVED him in season 4, thought he was just okay in seasons 5 and 6, and didn't like him at all in season 7; aside from the fact that he's definitely the best-looking guy on the show, I don't see why anyone liked season 7 Spike.

I didn't like Spuffy at all. Sprusilla forever!

I didn't think James Marsters' singing in OMWF was all that great. I mean, he's a pretty good singer, but he wasn't the best. Tony Head was much, much better.

I liked season 5, and I liked the concept of Glory, but Clare Kramer's acting reminded me of a bad middle school play. Then again, I guess your acting is never really that great when you play the snobby character.

I bawl during Willow's speech at the end of Tough Love every time I watch it (I've seen it 4 times), even though I know Tara gets sane again around three episodes later.

I liked Beer Bad. I don't see why people can hate that episode and love an episode like Where the Wild Things Are.

I don't like (the character) Buffy that much. SMG portrayed her perfectly, and she was definitely one of the best actors on the show, and I liked her during the first couple seasons...but in the later seasons, she's so vain. Like when she tries to convince Willow not to go after Glory, and during most of the last episodes of season 6...ugh! I agree with evil Willow...at moments, she just needs to get every square inch of her ass kicked. Okay, that was more of a rant than an opinion...but whatever.

I always thought Marti Noxon was one of the best writers on the show.

Anyone else?

I really liked how Angel was turned into Angelus in season 2 of Buffy. Dunno if this is popular or not, though. Just from what I've heard some of my friends didn't like it.
I liked Riley. He reminded me a bit of my brother.
And Cangel forever.

1. I like BtVS season 4. The overall plot sucks but the episodes themselves are really good.

2. Where The Wild Things Are and Living Conditions are two of my favorite episodes.

3. I don't like Welcome To The Hellmouth and The Harvest. Whenever I start the series from the begining, I usually skip them.

4. Bangel's crying over everything gets on my nerves.

5. I don't really like Becoming Part 1 and 2.

6. Season 6 of BtVS is great. Season 7 is only okay.

7. I don't like that Angel moved to W&H. It defeats his whole "Help The Helpless" thing.

8. I LOVED evil Cordy.

I've always loved Anya
I've always not loved Tara
I've always loved Spike, and Angel
I've always loved Willow/Oz and know they are meant to be together
I've always loved Kennedy
I've always loved Lindsay and feel is one of the greatest characters
I've always not loved at all how some people lived and Anya died
I've always loved season 4 of Angel
I've always loved Kennedy/Will in The Killer in Me
I've always loved the Mayor and Faith, good or bad
I've always loved Doyle but that isn't an unpopular opinion, I just love him
And lastly I've always loved Angel singing

Buffbuff, i actually agree on the bits about liking Spike earlier and not as much later, Sprusilla, and Glory!!!

And also, i liked Go Fish. I thought it was fun.

I don't really like Innocence.

I very much enjoyed season 6 too, also a fav. season 5 was just ok for me.

I was never a big fan of xander/anya. I actually loved Cordy and xander better.

And i liked riley in season 4, and not so much in 5.

- I love season 6 of Buffy, most people don't, but it's what got me into the show, so I'll always love it :)

- I don't really like season 1, IMO it's the worst series.

- I no longer hate Kennedy =O

I think that Dawn is one of the 3 best characters in Buffy
I think Spike shouldn't have been in Buffy at all, he was much better in Angel

I have developed a soft spot for Dawn and now feel she is a useful character beyond season 5

I find season five to be the least 'fun' season, not season six - which i love.

I love season seven! I know many people nitpick at it for various reasons but i just love each and every episode.

I didn't miss Giles that much in season six.

It took me longer to really get into Buffy Season 8 than it did to get into Angel: after the fall

I too love season four of Angel - took a second viewing to do it though, once the shocks were absorbed you see some damn fine acting and some wonderful writing.

Season 5 Angel is probably my favourite season of the whole Buffyverse.

Ah! Clem Rocks has inspired me to add in something I should've said earlier....

I know, this is probably a REALLY popular opinion, but...I love, love, LOVE Clem! I thought he was totally amazing and underused. I have an idea...they should make a spinoff all about Clem! Who's with me?!

I didn't think Angelus was as evil as everyone said he was. Or, at least, he wasn't as adept at evil as everyone said he was. He went on and on about it being an "art," but then he did heavy-handed stuff like dumping Jenny in Giles' bed. And, yes, there was a whole setup there, but it was still a dead body in a bed. Granted that there's only so much you can do on TV, but I didn't see a monster even under the civil veneer that they had to give him for TV. At most, he was kind of a petty evil. So he killed people. Oooh. Warren did that, and nobody would say he was an ubervillain.

Just my (possibly unpopular) opinion.

Hmmm.
I never really liked Angel as Angelus. He was funny as heck but way too evil for me.
Spike in love with Buffy annoyed the hell out of me.
I think Buffy is a little too self absorbed (but I guess most teenage girls are)
I loved Angel and Cordy together (they were the cutest).
I liked season 5 of Angel (except that Cordy wasn't in it).
I never really cared for Tara's character. She was okay but she seemed so mousy.
I loved Andrew--one of my favorite characters.
I liked Warren's character (not what he did but the character was interesting).

I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of right now.

Not sure if all of these are unpopular...seems to be where ever I go

I liked Season 4...not the overall storyline but for the most part I liked it!

Season 6 is my 2nd favorite season

I liked Beer Bad and Where the Wild Things Are

I cannot stand Bangel or Spuffy

The constant crying of Bangel bores me to tears

I didn't like season 2 all that much, or anying Bangel really. The earlier seasons were my least favorite

I don't really like the character of Angel...(on BtVS anyway...don't mind him on his own show)

There's more but I'm too tired to think :p

sosa lola

I liked season four better than season three.

I didn't get interested in Faith until No Future For You.

I don't like Buffy's relationships (Bangel, Ruffy, Spuffy)

I lost interest in Willow the minute she started to desert the computer and become a witch.

I find Buffy's boyfriends' scenes with Buffy's friends much more interesting than with Buffy.

I don't side with anyone in Empty Places, while I felt bad for Buffy and thought it was harsh to have her leave the house, I thought the Scoobies had a point in their argument. I side with Buffy in Dead Man's Party, I side with the Scoobies in Revelation.

I find Xander/Cordelia more interesting than Xander/Anya.

I like Season 8 Buffy more than After the Fall.

I find the Scoobies more interesting and layered than the Fang Gang (Angel's group.)

Hmmm... an interesting topic! This one's so easy it's hard you know? Trying to figure out what's against "the norm".

Well I'm not sure if these are all "unpopular", but these are my opinions that I think may be a little bit on the less common side? ???

I don't like Jenny and Giles together. At all.

I don't like Jenny. At all. Lol I shouldn't say that, I can appreciate some things about her character but overall I thought she was a wimp, personally.

I hate spuffy (obviously lol) but at the same time I really value what they had in season 7.... kind of friendship/understanding type deal. And being an avid bangel shipper that may be wierd?

I don't like sprusilla either. Faith/Spike I thought were always best paired.

I HATED Buffy in some episodes, especially season 6. Thought she was just aggravating (especially in "Fool For Love")

Snyder was my favourite of all the Sunnydale High Principals

I wasn't a huge fan of season 7 (except for the very last episodes).

That's all I have so far, anyway. I'll post more if I can think of any! : erm :

Unpopular opinions? Well, I like Kennedy. And I can support my position. Both of those are about as unpopular as you can get. Well, except that I got really tired of "the Spike Show".

I actually like Kennedy, I thought she was good for Willow and she helped 2 lead the story back 2 the Slayers and not so much the magic..

I don't like 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' or 'The Harvest', like someone said before.

Bangel sucks, Spuffy sucks more, Cangel rocks.. And personally, i think Riley was the best bf Buffy had.

I would rather Spike stayed dead and never came to AtS, he just made Angel look like a big doofus in comparison.

Cordelia should never have been hi-jacked by Jasmine and killed, it would have been better if she stayed a PtB IMO, maybe re-appearing a few more times later in the series as a Special Guest Star..

Connor should not exist, seriously.

Dawn made me laugh on a few occasions.. lol

Glory was the best big bad on BTVS

Wesley should have visited Sunnydale with Cordy at some stage in the 3rd season of AtS (so BTVS s6) so that the scoobies could see how much they'd both grown..

I really disliked Andrew, out of all the Trio members, he irked me the most. It was like someone slap that boy already, puh-lease!

Oh, to add, im one of those who really liked warren (as a character and even a lil as a person, i still feel deep down, prior to him first killing a human being, there was a good part to him).

think Johnathon was a useless part of the trio.

I love Life Serial (apparently its not that big around here). I think its one of the funniest episodes and i have it on my ipod nano to have a good laugh when im on the go.

Gunn is my favorite character on Angel.

And i kind of agree about whoever said Jenny was a wimp... i thought her and Giles was weird too, because she seemed a LOT younger than him, then again im judging on looks so what do i know.

Hm, I always hated Harmony, I dislike that actress ever since Addams Family.. :)
I love Seasons 1 and 4.
I prefer Buffy to Angel.
I can't fall in love with Season 7 and it took me some time to like Season 6.
Never like Andrew.

Well, that's makes her (Mersedes McNab) really good actress - with portraying such nasty girls. :)

Buffy is one of the most immature character of the entire series. Faith looks like Schopenhauer in comparison.

James Marsters was the worst singer in OMWF.

Angel is the better show.

Spuffy > Bangel

I love season four of BtVS.

I love season seven of BtVS.

Xander is always an enormous arsehole in all of the group "discussions" about Buffy's decisions regarding Angel and running away etc. etc., discussions being a loose term indeed.

The best moment in Buffyverse history is either "You're a wee little puppet man!" or Gunn getting all gangsta after singing Three Little Maids From School.

More unpopular opinions:

I love Riley and Kennedy.

I'm not interested in Tara and Andrew. Tara was too much of a saint, Andrew was just... there.

Faith only became interesting in season eight No Future For You.

I prefer Buffy more than Angel and Firefly.

I think Giles is sexier than Angel and Spike. Moreover, I think Xander is better looking than both vamps, too.

I lost interest in Cordelia post-Season 2 Angel. Loved tactless Cordelia more.

I think Xander had a point when he said that soulless Spike shouldn't be trusted, but hated his behavior with Buffy in Entropy and Seeing Red.

lol, most of the opinions i have on the shows are unpopular!!

I love Connor. Like, seriously, he's my favorite character from either show.

Season 6 is my favorite season.

'Normal Again' is my favorite episode.

I love Season 4. so many great epsiodes came from that season.

i hated Season 5. apart from 'The Replacement', 'Family', 'Fool For Love', and 'The Gift' the whole seasons bores me.

i hated all of the Potentials excpet Molly, and she was killed!!

i hated the fact that Riley came back. he broke up Spike and Buffy.

i hate the fact that the writers made a Slayer have a kid. it seemed stupid to me, as a Slayer, pre-Buffy, was supposed to lead a solitary life. and not only did Nikki have a child, but she had a boy, which closed off way too many doors that could have led to a Slayer's daughter being a Potential.

I totally can't stand Angel. I mean, what the hell happened with Fred?! I honestly don't even know and I prefer to keep it that way.

I always thought that the Dawn storyline was a complete waste of time. The Trio a close second.

Angel was far too pouty, moody and sulky. Why would anyone want to date him?!

I can't stand watching Buffy kiss Angel or Parker. It's something about the way Sarah's mouth moves between kisses, where the corners of her mouth pull back and we can see her teeth. It just drives me nuts. Not sure why.

Unpopular opinions? Good thread.

Lets see...

1. I absolutely love season six of Buffy.
2. I absolutely love season seven of Buffy. (especially all of Buffy's speeches)
3. I do and always will dislike the character of Faith. She has never appealed to me at all, and she never will.
4. I hate the episode "I will Remember You" I never watch it when I'm going through the seasons.
5. I liked Cordelia better when she was on Buffy.
6. I really liked Riley.
7. I love the episode "Beer Bad" Foamy!
8. "Checkpoint" is my all time favorite Buffy episode. I could watch it over and over.

I love Connor, always have. < I'd say that's an unpopular opinion
I love season 4 of Buffy - just not the arc.
I love Beer Bad (the last scene is the best last scene of Buffy ever! well for laughs), also love Doublemeat Palace
I love Checkpoint as well SpikedBuffy but thought everyone did? How could they not
I like Riley also, but didn't always.
I don't like Cordelia's character when she goes all 'Saint Cordy' > Love her at every other stage though.

When people say they don't like when Bangel's cry.. do they mean Buffy and Angel, or the fans Bangels? What's up with that? People cry at scenes... that's such an odd comment :p Anyway I love lots more but not sure if it's unpopular.

I don't remember who Conner is!

I couldn't ever tolerate Riley, not even a little, tiny bit. He irked me. The entire Initiative thing irked me beyond repair. I mean, little men running around in little army uniforms, encouraging gun violence?! Not at all to my tastes.

Unpopular opinions?

Well, as sosa lola said earlier, I think Giles is sexier than the vamp boys. Of course, that's no secret around this board! lol. Really, I think Giles is the sexiest man in the entire Buffyverse. Don't get me wrong; the other guys on Buffy are each nice bits of eye candy in their own unique ways, but Giles is the most attractive.

I like James Marsters' acting, but not his singing. Of course, that could be due to the oddly placed flat note they made him sing in Rest in Peace just so it would harmonize with Buffy's refrain later in the coda.

I like Dawn. Like, a lot.

I love, love, loved Lindsey.

I liked Riley. I liked him as a character and I liked him with Buffy. I was sorry when that relationship ended. I understand why it ended. I don't resent or bemoan it. But I did enjoy it while it lasted.

I hate every single season finale, even Restless and The Chosen. Restless was a neat episode; I just didn't think it was finale material. The finale episodes always seemed hurried and anti-climactic to me with their bad CGI effects.

Even though I really liked the Oz/Willow pairing, I found Oz utterly forgettable after he left. I never missed him at all.

I love, love, loved Gunn and Fred. Wes and Fred were only so-so for me.

Not a huge Faith fan.

I don't like Angel. I liked him better when he was on his own show but, by and large, I found him to be self-centered, chauvinistic, and dismissive of those around him, just to name a few. There were moments during which I really liked him, but the scales of my regard usually tipped in the opposite direction. Also, even though I love, love, loved Angelus, I think his Angel/Angelus distinction is a load of whooey.

I found the romantic relationships between supporting characters to be far more interesting than any of Buffy's relationships or Angel's relationships. Wes and Lilah, Xander and Anya, and Spike and Drusilla fascinated me.

I thought Angel should have re-sired human, dying Darla like she requested. He owed her.

Hmmm let's see....

After awhile....Buffy with anyone gets on my neves. The whole "poor me, my guys are always wrong" really irks me.
Not that big a fan of Faith. Kendra was more fun.
Would have prefered Oz to Tara.
I wouldn't have minded that much if Angel hadn't had come back from hell.
Riley was okay when he started but his darkness could have been handled better.
I don't really think the relationship between Tara and Willow was that good for Tara.

Interesting thread! Here are mine....

- The Puppet Show is the best s1 episode
- I hated spike in season 2 and Drusilla... oh boy.
- By the end of season 3, I wanted Faith to kill Willow just to shut her up
- Living Conditions is the best season 4 episode (after Hush) and Kathy is my homegirl
- After Willow went all magic crazy in season 6, I wished Tara had just dumped her and moved on
- I hate season 7 Buffy
- I hate Spike, except in season 5
- Spuffy makes me wanna cover my eyes and scream
- I loved Andrew from the start
- I. Loved. Kennedy. From. The. Very. First. Time. I. Saw. Her.
- But I wish she had never hooked up with Willow, that made her less cool
- Really don't like when Tara sings in OMWF
- I sorta wished that Glory would win over Buffy
- And that Tara wouldn't become normal
- Worse misstake ever: Wood
- Angel (the series) is boring. I lose interest after like ten minutes

GorramSpaceTrash
02-09-2008, 07:49 PM
- Buffy is vastly superior to Angel.
- Season Six is one of the most consistently well-written seasons overall.
- I only began really enjoying Spike's character from Season Four onwards.
- Adam was a decent Big Bad.
- The Wish was always an above-average ep for me, though ironically Doppelgangland is probably my favourite!
- Oz didn't need to ever come back, he got a decent and worthy send-off.
- Was probably nearly as gutted about Potential Amanda's death in Chosen as I was about Anya!
- That final scene between Buffy and Spike in Chosen does nothing for me. After a two season build-up, with the whole Buffy\Spike thing running it's course and coming to a definite end (particularly it being implied they slept together) dramatically speaking, wasn't it worth a mutal 'I love you' to the viewers? I think Joss was trying to go for an ESB moment like between Han and Leia, re: "I love you." "I know." - but I still can't wrap my head around the point of it.

* I feel Anya was a much more worthwhile character than people give her credit for.
* I hated Tara :silly:

*I loved Anya, but I preferred the love hate relationship with Cordy and Xander.

*I prefer Willow/Oz over Willow/Tara

*I didn't like Jenny/Giles. I always thought Joyce/Giles should have come to fruition.

*Cangel makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit, as does Angel/Darla.

*I never like Darla, ever. I can understand the need for her character, I just didn't like her. I don't think she should have been brought back. But then, I guess we wouldn't have Connor.

*I like Connor.

*I think Xander is cooler than Spike, and though the idea of Bander is still foreign to me, I think I'd prefer it over Spuffy.

*I appreciate Spuffy, and even halfway like it, tho I'm so on the Bangel ship 4-Life!

*I liked Riley's character, just didn't like him with Buffy.

*Robin Wood=not needed.

*I liked Jonathon

*I liked Warren

*I think Andrew has his funny moments, but I don't really like him

*I love Angelus, love him.

*Liked Season 2 Spike better than any of the other seasons.

*I strongly dislike Season 7.

There's my quick list. This is a good thread by the way.

I actually really liked Season 1, but then again, I've only seen it once.
I adore Drusilla. She would have made such a good bad guy.
I hated all of the potentials aside from the Asian one that nobody could understand. They needed more of her!
I hate Spuffy. Bangel will always be my favorite!
They shoulda kept Kendra. And what the hell happened to Mr. Pointy, anyway?
Willow was better as "Fuzzy Willow". I didn't like Magic Willow nearly as much.
I wish they had all stayed in high school! I know it wouldn't be possible, but oh well.
I didn't like Faith at all at first. I mean, she grew on me, but at first I wanted her to be killed off.
Spike was way better in the first few seasons. He got annoying as soon as he fell in love with Buffy, and in Season 7, just...no.
Angel's Irish accent is so awful, it gives me the LOLs.
I wish Oz had stayed. I mean, I loved Willow and Tara together (but Kennedy...GRRRR), but Oz would have made a good addition.
I loooove Andrew.
I cried when Johnathan died!
I hated Xander and Cordelia.
I didn't mind Riley. I mean, I didn't LIKE him, but I didn't absolutely hate him, either.
Glory would have been awesome if it weren't for her acting. Ughhhh.
I loved Principal Flooti! I cried so hard when he was eaten...and I cried even harder when they ate the pig! I know, that's so ridiculous, but I DON'T CARE.
I thought Angel was hotter when he was Angelus. Just sayin'.
Spike was hotter than Angel, but Bangel was way better than Spuffy.
Xander was amazing at first, but in the last few seasons, he was just dull. I wish that they had gotten rid of Confident Xander and kept Insecure Xander. The Snoopy Dance > All!
Buffy was so annoying and vain in the last seasons.
I think Giles is kinda hot. xD
I liked Dawn from the very beginning.
Remember that one guy that Dawn talked to in art class in The Body? I was disappointed when he didn't come back!
Same with the guy from the one with Cassie dying...I forget what it was called.
I have more, but I'm too lazy to write them all out. (;

From season 4 on, I pretty much hate Willow.

I don't care that Tara was killed.

I HATE evil Cordy.

I wasn't too bothred about Fred dying.

I think S7 is pretty alright.

I can't stand season 4 of ANGEL.

I don't like 'Restless'.

Okay so....

I cant stand Buffys mum!
I liked Riley the best out of Buffys boyfriends
I hated Williow in seasons 1-3 but loved her soon as she hit college.
I am not really keen on the potentials and the whole sharing the slayer power
I love spike as a character but think he is ugly
Not keen on the whole Angel & Cordy thing and even though I wish she didnt die was glad the relationship didnt progress further.
I loved Wesley & Lyla and Wesley & Fred.
My fave epsidoes are Out of Sight,Out of mind and The Zeppo (loving Xander & Faith)
My least fave is Buffy Vs Dracula

What's with everyone saying that they like or love Angelus qualifies as an unpopular opinion? Wasn't he voted the best bad guy ever a while back? I thought liking or even loving Angelus was normal.

Or is it just liking Angelus more than Angel that puts you in the unpopular camp? If so, just call me a rebel. Angel was never half so cool as when he was Angelus. Angel was mopey and annoying. Angelus was... just a joy to watch, especially with Darla, Dru, and Spike.

I've been re-watching Seasons 4 thru 7 while I'm off work, and I'm beginning to feel that Spike deserves a helluva lot more than Buffy, and Buffy DESERVES to be stuck with Ol' Broody. They can sit around together and cry all day. Spike deserves a helluva lot better. He needs to set his sights on Faith! I think they'd make a great team. (Toss in Illyria, and you've got the makings of a classic team up).

I soooooo agree. I always thought Spike and Faith would have been great together. While he wasn't my favorite version of Spike in S7, he was still Spike. Both of them had done a lot of growing by then, were as Buffy seemed to have regressed to me. They totally would have been better suited.

Tho, I have to admit in another sortof unpopular opinion around my camp, I really like Spike and Angel. Now that's chemistry. Not so much romantically ya know, but I love how they play off one another. Evil, good, it doesn't matter, these two were good together.

Wait, the Spike and Angel had good chemistry opinion is unpopular, too?

Crap. Are all of my opinions unpopular? I loved their scenes together. They played off of one another fabulously. They were always so funny! Even the first time we see them together was great ("You were my Yoda!")

You know, the funny season 6 scene in which Spike doesn't know "Mr.... Fett?" from Adam always sort of bothered me because of that. He knows Star Wars! He referenced it.

I hated Joyce, and only felt bad that Buffy was loosing a "mom", but was sooooo glad to see her go.
I loathe Kennedy, and Dawn for that matter. I was sad to see dawn NOT die.
Anya is much better as a vengance demon then a regular crew member... she made me laugh but I way preferred Xander and Cordy to Anya and Xander 'ship. Hated most the big bads after season 3 of buffy.... glory and adam were boring and trite and the geeks were so dumb and still the scoobies struggled against them mightily????
Buffy intermittently gets on my nerves... and a LOT by season 7... I feel she is wayyyyy to whiny.
Jenny/Giles always felt weird to me... her character was way too hastily thrown together.... Giles shoulda hooked up with that chick from London or Anya.

Phena Williams was terrible playing Giles' English mistress in Season Four. I abhorred her acting. And her English accent sounds woefully fake, AND SHE IS ACTUALLY FROM ENGLAND!

I wasn't touched by "The Body", but I like "Inca Mummy Girl".

I think Bangel was more annoying than Cordy & Connor.

As sexiness goes, I think Faith ranks mediocre among the women of the Buffyverse.

I like the Buffy/Riley relationship.
I don't like Spuffy.
I did not care for Tara and I prefer Oz.
I like Kennedy.
I don't like Season 5 of Buffy.
I think Season 4 is the best Buffy season and I love the Initiative.
I like Season 6 and think it's the funniest Buffy Season (for the most part).
I hate Glory.
I like Adam.
I hate the Xander/Anya song in Once More With Feeling (not sure if this one is popular though).
The Body and The Gift (even though they are two of the best episodes of Season 5) didn't move me at all, but I cried after Xander's speech in Potential.
I love the concept of Connor.
I don't like Spike and Faith in Season 7 (but I love them before and after that).
I love Andrew (is he really that unpopular?).
I think Willow became a bit too powerful (but I love Dark Willow).
I love Dawn.
I like the way they portrayed Dracula (just didn't like the actor).

This is all that comes to mind right now.

- I really liked All the Way.
- I loved Life of the Party (apparently, it's pretty unpopular.)
- I like Cangel more than Bangel, even though I love both ships.
- I didn't care for the episodes about Gunn's crew (not sure how popular those were.)
- I loved Harmony and always thought she was a great character.
- I didn't think Apocalypse, Nowish was that great an episode (it would've been a little better if Cordy/Connor didn't start up...*gags*
- I loved nerdy Wes (in early Angel, not Buffy) and badass Wes equally.
- Season 6 is one of my favorites (apparently, that's a more popular opinion than I thought.)
- I didn't cry at the end of Xander's speech in Potential (though I did choke up a little), but I did cry at the end of Tough Love.
- I thought Faith was much better on Angel than she was on Buffy (except for her body-swap episodes in season 4, which were two of her better episodes.)
- Aside from the very end, I didn't think Hero was that great an episode.
- I didn't really mind Riley (although he had his annoying moments in season 5.)
- I liked Dawn, particularly in season 7.
- I never loved Jenny Calendar, even though I really liked her relationship with Giles.
- I thought most of Amends was kind of boring.
- I found a lot of episodes in Angel seasons 1-4 to be kind of boring, but I loved all of season 5.
- I didn't like Darla much.
- I liked Sprusilla just a teensy bit more than Spuffy.
- I thought Glory was, for the most part, annoying, even though season 5 is one of my favorites.
- Andrew was one of my favorite characters.

And there are a lot more, but I'll stick with that huge list for now.

Gosh, most of my opinions are actually pretty popular, I feel so conventional...

Ok I'm not sure if these are popular or not but here are some of my opinions.

*I actually see Jasmine's point of view despite ultimately agreeing with Angel.

*I too like Riley.

*I too like Connor, and didn't mind Dawn (actually liked her in Season 7)

*I prefer Angel as a show and a character to Buffy and Btvs respectively.

*I too prefer the bigs bads on Ats than Btvs.

*I thought Mr Trick had potential and was sold short.

*Empathised with Wood in LMPTM even if I didn't agree with his 'mission'. Thought Spike in this same episode was trying to rationalize past events to make himself feel better.

*I can't choose between Angel, Angelus or Liam because to me they are all different sides of the same fragmented persona.

* This is the defense of Cordy's awkward transition in Season 3:

My main problem was actually not Cordy's personality in Season 3 or even Cangel, it was how uncharacteristically she was out of touch with her own feelings. But actually this can be explained. Perhaps these years have been a huge transition for her. The visions and the mission have changed her more than she knew. She overlooked Doyle at first but then finally saw his worth as a companion. This happened with Angel and also with her growing sense of self. Episodes such as, well most of the Pylea arc, That Vision Thing, Birthday
and Tomorrow were actually fantastically well written and very in character for her, it's just that there were certain transitions that needed ironing out. Intutively this could be CC's performance, but it still made sense to me.

*Also on Warren and misogyny:

Warren is an interesting one. He wasn't a misogynist per se. Hang on I just read that... I don't think there is a misogynist per se, as such, it's a result of interconnected personality traits that can lead to such. Now this is an unpopular opinion because I think a lot of people saw two Warrens: Season 5 Warren and the other one. To me there was one Warren who developed into the person he's become. The confusion a lot of people have is that they think Warren learned his lesson in IWMTLY, but he didn't, he just grew more bitter and the darker tendencies grew. I don't ever think Warren was just 'that' guy or the other guy. In IWMTLY, people in the ep actually can identify with him but, it's how we handle such issues that define us. Warren was never simply a woman hater (although he ended up becoming one of sorts based upon his need to dominate and control. A flaw born out of his insecurity, hello Willow, relate much?)but it's these key choices that define us and Warren chose the other path.

The Katrina thing was also interesting. I actually don't think he could love Katrina, well maybe he could but he wasn't really ready to. Just because he finds Katrina more interesting, doesn't mean he respects her as an individual. The real test would be if he didn't try to control Katrina (yes actually in the same episode) and actually moved on in a positive way, but he doesn't. It's sad but some people just go down that path.

I like Angel more and think he is way more attractive when he is evil in Season 2.

I think Season 4 is amazing and contains many of the best episodes of the series.

Edit:

You know what, I have more:
Buffy is the best Whedon show.
Buffy and Angel bother me. Spike and Buffy are a far more interesting couple.
I, too prefer Oz to Tara.
I agree with Jasmine, not Angel in many respects (though I know the writers designed it so we would questio ourselves in this way, so it is debatable whether or not this qualifies as unpopular).
I like Xander and Willow as a couple, despite Xander's jerkiness (though that is obvious from my banner).
I detest Darla.
I think when Riley let the vampire women bite him, that he was being childish. I don't think it was Buffy's fault, though she didn't love him. His reaction was infantile and when they fight about it I want to pinch his head off with pruning shears.

Despite SpikedBuffy summing up mostly all my feelings on this matter I will reiterate my own opinions.

Faith bored me as a character. I liked Eliza's portrayal... Just didn't like the way Faith was written. The one stereotype on the show that drove me crazy! I think Kendra would have been a more interesting slayer to explore another side of slaying. (But I guess her bad accent would have driven me to a nervous breakdown after awhile!)

Angel the series is boring. I had to really struggle to get through the few episodes I've actually watched.

I like all the seasons of Buffy and would never be one to say "I think <insert season here> is boring" They all had something that appealed to me and if they hadn't I suppose I would have given up watching the show.

Angel bored me. Buffy and Angel together bored me.

Disclaimer: Most, if not all, opinions expressed here probably cannot be backed up by any logical argument.

*I loved Season 4!
* I loved episodes Where The Wild Things Are and Beer Bad
*I kinda liked Dawn. There were a few times she really annoyed me but in general I liked the character. And I think her storyline was really good.
* I loved Andrew! For all the funniness:biggrin:
* I didn't like Faith in season 3. At all.

I love Evil Cordy but I hate that for the whole season, it wasn't really Cordy. Does that make sense? LOL

Angel annoyed the crap outta me in BtVS. But I liked him on his own show.

I don't care much for Becoming Part 1 and 2.

Where The Wild Things Are is a great episode. I love the whole oversexed frat house concept. LOL

I love season 4 of both shows.

I like Spike but he should have stayed dead after BtVS season 7.

Cordelia should have made an appearance on BtVS after she left the main cast.

Season 6 is one of my favorite seasons.

I didn't like the ending to Not Fade Away. Seeing as how that was the end of the whole Buffyverse (at the time) we should have gotten something a little more closed.

Illyria should have been done earlier in the season. Like disc one early.

I don't like Bangel but the Wild Horses scene in The Prom is one of my favorites.

Cordelia stabbing Lilah is my favorite Buffyverse moment.

Gwen should have been in season 5.

Groo should have come back.

I don't like that Angel started seeing Nina so soon after Cordelia's death. Two episodes? .......................

Seeing as how it wasn't really Buffy, The Girl in Question was pointless.

Season 3 is my favorite but the season started off so boring to me. It didn't get good till Homecoming.

*I didn't buy the Bangle love story at all when I first watched it. The whole thing felt totally melodramatic, sappy, needy, whiny, and just generally obnoxious. Until Buffy shagged him and made him all eeeeeviiiiiil. Then the relationship was fun to watch--and I actually believed their love story when he came back in S3. Even though I get what the relationship was supposed to be, the pre-S3 Bangle scenes still either annoy or bore me.

*Beer Bad makes me laugh every time. Not a GOOD ep. by any standard, but I'm a sucker for Cave!Buffy. "Boy smell nice."

*I also like S4 and the idea of the Initiative. In fact, if I could just edit Riley out the season, I would love it. Hush, Superstar, Something Blue, Restless . . . all S4 episodes. I think it's Riley more than anything else that ruins this season for most viewers.

*I really wanted to see Ethan Rayne again. Not sure how unpopular that one is but yeah, really hoped to see that actor again before series end. Alas.

I like S1-S3 Wesley better than S4-S5 Wesley. Don’t get me wrong, I love all parts of Wesley’s character and I was impressed with his changes over the years, but I enjoyed him more in the earlier seasons. I’ve seen a few people on other boards say that he was just comic relief back then, which I completely disagree with; I always found him to have many interesting sides and traits.

I like Riley, I felt bad for him in season 5, and I was really glad for the closure that “As You Were” brought.

I didn’t start to like Faith until I watched Angel S4. I still can’t muster up the amount of love for her that so many fans seem to have.

Some of the things Dawn says or does drive me nuts and seem too immature, but for the most part I think people are too harsh toward her and I’ll usually defend her.

I never cared that much about Fred.

I enjoy Beer Bad
I like season four of Buffy
I thought Glory was a fantastic Big Bad

In the first half of season 3 of Angel I wanted Fred and Wesley to get together, but by the time they actually did, I no longer supported it. I was happy for Wesley, since he’s a favorite character, but I would have been okay with it if he had just moved on. I actually thought Gunn and Fred made a really cute pair.

I’m not sure if Cangel is unpopular or not, but I love it. However, their friendship was so adorable I sometimes think I might prefer it.

Joyce Summers agrees: I know I just karmafied you for Gingerbread comment above but just had to say I think I know why InsaneMystic here doesn't like Gingebread ::coughs out 'Joyce-Centric Ep':: ;) Haha
I only just noticed your comment there, and no, that's not the reason. Your namesake isn't any more annoying in it than regularly.

What thoroughly disappointed me was the solution of "Gingerbread"; I would vastly have preferred it to be mundane, psychological witchhunting paranoia instead of a shapeshifting demon from a German folk tale. One of those two eps where a non-supernatural explanation could have made a milestone of the series, while the offered version left me wondering why they chickened out (the other one was "Ted").

Well... "Ted" is another ep with a heavy dose of Joyce, so perhaps I don't sound convincing. :lmao: Perhaps it helps if I say that I love "Band Candy"?

I loved the initiative/adam arc, and the Trio, Holtz and Wolfram& hart.
I thought I robot you Jane, Bad eggs and Superstar were all great episodes.
Good Characters were Ethen rayne, Mr Trick, Kendra
Season 4 is my favorite.:cheering:

I didnt really like Cordy, quite annoying then boring thank god she left in s5.
I liked the connor story but Hated Connor himself. angel Season 4 was quite bad overall.
Hated Ben and Knox too.
didnt really like the way evil willow could fly and throw fireballs and teleport.:bite-cha:

Edit:

Also Hate Kennedy and spuffy and cangel talk.
Like everything else about the show though.

Ok here are mine:

I liked Connor.

I liked the Connor/Cordelia thing but in general don't like Cordelia on Angel.

I liked Adam though I do admit he elicits less of an emotional response than the Mayor, Glory, or Dark Willow.

I also liked the Initiative, and though as a character I hated Maggie Walsh, I liked how it was done. I mean that she was a good villian and very unlikeable, but in a good way.

I don't think there was a "bad" episode or season of BTVS though some are definitely stronger than others.

My unpopular opinions, though I'm bound to forget some:

Never cared much either way for Tara
Hated Dark Willow
Thought season seven's "Him" was just dumb and not at all funny
The idea of Fresley makes me heave a little bit on the inside
Never liked Lilah
Thought that The Girl in Question was stupid because it was so blatantly obvious that they'd wanted to get Sarah Michelle Gellar for the episode but they couldn't. That episode suffered.
Didn't like Wesley in Buffy or the second half of Angel, but loved him in the first half
Didn't mind Eve

I preferd the way in s1-3 that it was only the slayer(s) and a select few that had real powers, and the whole slayer/vampires was quite low key.
In the last 4 seasons it seemed like too many people had superpowers, magic powers and surely the whole town knew about this stuff by the later seasons. There was lots of silly looking demons running around and it just got a bit more fake.

Here are my maybe less than popular opinions.
I hate cangel and am not much for spuffy.
I hate most of the new slayers from season 7, especially Kennedy.
Tara is ok, but is not my favorite.
I'm not a big fan of Faith. She is also just ok.
I'm not a big Oz fan.
I think one of the biggest villians on Buffy was whoever was styling some of the cast. Some of the outfits made me cringe.
