I love this work. It's quirky (please take that in a good way) and wonderful. I especially love the style achieved with the acryllic on sanpaper. Can't wait to see more

Hopefully, anybody who was on the fence about submitting stuff will get psyched and we can have a larger show for next time. It was definitely a lot of fun putting this show together. Thanks to all the participants :)

Nice work folks :) There are a couple I couldn't see here at work but I'm sure they'll be as good :) I reckon participants should be awarded some House points...I'll have a word with BEG to that effect.
Why "Gallery 1630" GB?
Some excellent art there! I particularly love the troll sketch, and the acrylic on sandpaper pieces , but they are all excellent though! :D
I should find the time to do some real art rather than in PS but it's hard with the kids around to destroy things 'lol' I might give it a go though for next time. :D
Really though, fantastic artwork all round by everyone that took part! :D

I was thinking perhaps it could be...4 shows in a calendar year. Next one could be a spring show, in May. Give people plenty of time to procrastinate, heh.

That stuff blows my mind, but the one I'm particularly intrigued by is that Buffy anime. I'm curious Lucinda. Did you pull that idea completely from your own mind, or did you spin it from something you saw someplace else? What I mean is, are there other animes based on Buffy characters some place you know of?
Oh, and do you have any more?
Edit
Also, what's up? I can't see the one by BeckyX.

Hmm. As far as images not displaying properly, I'm not sure. I'm seeing everything. ImageShack is hosting all these. Sometimes they seem to get overloaded, stuff doesn't show up. You guys let me know if there are pieces here that consistently don't appear.

But you never know :D I might give it a try next time if I find some resources!

Holy crap, GB! "The Slayer" is...AMAZING! I love it!
And Lyri, you're an amazing artist! Too bad about you having to take pictures of them though, because they're all blurry. (I'm assuming you had to take pics of them like you had to do with your auto'd photos from Clare and Vincent and stuff.)
Becky that's an AWESOME Spike! Hehe I love it! And Lucinda that's an AWESOME manga thing. It's sweet!
I can't see "Willow" though... :(

Very neat! I especially like goldenboy's "The Slayer."
Honestly, though, I'm impressed with you guys using more traditional means and going without the "undo" button. Just... wow. I couldn't do that in a million years. You guys are awesome!

The Dark Avenger has lovely shading, 2 slayers looks like a groovy comic style.. love Buffy's earrings. Angel cityscape has beautiful colouring and layout, must be really satisfying making something so awesome.

I like the way the Angel: Cityscape one speaks to the actual mythology of the Angel story, rather than the biological necessity of adjusting the story on TV to the aging of the actor who played the part.
In the Angel story Angel is this young guy locked in at a biological age somewhere around a college sophomore. He's also the vampire with the face of an angel who for whatever reasons may have connected culturally to the late 50s, early 60s of America. In the mythology there's reason to believe he might, have a sort of subliminal identification with that period.
Maybe it's just my personal interpretation, but I see all that in the poster, and it's cool.

These are all amazing. There's some real talent here, raw or otherwise. But for some reason I'm still mostly drawn to Goldenboy's. I think it's the materials used- I've never come across acryllic on sandpaper before I saw it on here and I just really, really like it. And the way you've done it is very stylized also and the whole thing seems to work really well together.
But they are all really excellent- smgfan75 really paid attention to detail.
Some amazing stuff there! Really cool drawings, with great shading & likeness. :D I adore GB's Cityscape piece, like Joyce I'd never seen acryllic on sandpaper before viewing goldenboys work. It really is fantastic and gives such great depth to the piece. :)
