There's nothing really new from Joss on Dollhouse in his new interview, but he does make things more clear, I think.

What’s the premise of “Dollhouse,” your new show on Fox?

It’s about a girl who has had her personality completely wiped clean so that she can be imprinted with lots of different personalities for particular assignments; some of them criminal, some of them romantic, some of them sexual, some of them just…what’s the word I’m trying to think of?

“Avocado”?

Some of them “avocado…” No, that wasn’t it. “Altruistic.” That isn’t the word but it’ll do. And then she gradually begins to become self-aware in her wiped-clean state and begins to wonder why she’s here and who she is and suspect she may be in some danger.

And it stars a familiar friend of yours, Eliza Dushku who played Faith on “Buffy.”

A very dear friend who was out on the picket line with me.

What’s the status of “Dollhouse” now?

The day the strike is over, assuming the entire infrastructure of Hollywood has not collapsed, I go to work on it. And not the day before.

Gary Newman, chairman of 20th Century Fox Television, said the studio's development staff was in touch with its writers.

"We're not giving people hard-and-fast deadlines," he said. "We're just making them aware of the competitive advantage they'll get if they're able to turn their script in sooner rather than later."

Newman estimated that his studio had 50 to 60 pilot scripts in the works, including one from popular TV producer Joss Whedon, whose new Fox series, "Dollhouse," was ordered from a pitch two weeks before the strike began. Whedon is now busy writing both the pilot script and scenes for auditions.

I'm really curious to see how the cast is gonna fill out. I know Joss has said he doesn't necessarily want actors from past shows, but maybe we'll see some familiar faces in there somewhere.

Any time frame for the release of the show now that the writers strike is over?
Is it going to be pushed back till 2009?

Yeah! They say it should be released in Fall / Autumn if everything goes according to plan! :silly:

Michael Ausiello states in this week's Ask Ausiello column that barring any major hiccups (like, say, the actors going on strike), Dollhouse could and should premier in the fall.

Ditto. I need some good Whedonverse dosage. Plus TV return of Eliza is ALWAYS a good thing; she's fab. If not it might end up being a midseason thing like the first season of Buffy was. Which means longer wait, but hey as long as we get it....hehe

Well the sonner the better really, but I can wait forever if I have to. Joss and Eliza have never let me down
