Having just played The Quest for Oz, i thought i'd make a topic about the many Buffy games there are, i have played three "proper" Buffy games so far:

BtVS (Xbox)
Chaos Bleeds (Xbox)
Quest for Oz (Mobile phone)

And i know there's a Gameboy one too that i'd like to play sometime.

Also a quick search on Google reveals atleast two Buffy flash games. One where you just sling stakes and vamps, and one entitled Chronicles of the Slayer which is all weird and cartoony.

So guys, discuss:

What's your fav and least fav Buffy games? (My fav's BtVS and my least fav's Quest for Oz).
Have you found any other Buffy Flash games or maybe even an Angel one? =O
Have any of you thought about or actualy tried making a Buffy/Angel game? There are programs to make games that you could probably make a Buffy/Angel game from, one built in the classic Legend of Zelda style would be interesting, and easy to make i think if someone knew what they were doing...

I enjoyed BtVS. Chaos Bleeds is HARD. I still haven't beat it. The controls are a little slow to respond, I hate playing as Xander, and I can't freaking beat Adam.

There's one for Gameboy? I hadn't heard of that one.

i found Faith's level on Chaos Bleeds to be the hardest.
And yeah, i hear there is one, called Wrath of the Darkhul king or something like that...

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer video games are...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer for X-Box

Chaos Bleeds for X-Box, Gamecube, and Playstation 2

Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Game Boy Color

Wrath of the Darkhul King for Game Boy Advance
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51741ZM1JML._SS500_.jpg

My favorite is definitely the BtVS X-Box game. The gameplay, the graphics, the dialogue, the fact that it's set in my favorite season, and everything is amazing. I actually have two copies of the game. I got to the Dreamer's Realm but I wasn't able to bgeat it so I started from the beginning. It's no problem cuz I like it. It's just like watching an actual episode. I wonder if the video games are canon.

Chaos Bleeds is another story. The gameplay is slow, the graphics are generic, and I never cared for the storyline. Where exactly did Sid the Puppet come from? I mean there are so many characters they could have brought in but they brought Sid. That always puzzled me. No worries though cuz he's my favorite to play as.

I never tried the Game Boy games so I don't know.

Is there any way the Xbox ones could work on computers?
My parents always refused to buy something for gaming as they think it's the sure way to turn children stupid :(

I really like the first one for the Xbox. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer game. I ordered on a whim from e-bay, thinking that I wouldn't like it, but I really did. Even my husband liked it. We both played it. He ended up beating the game, and that was cool to watch how the game ended. I only made it to the Dreamer's Realm (and not much more after that, the game is beaten). I always fall off on one of those turning floor parts while jumping from one to another.

I absolutely hated Chaos Bleeds. It didn't flow right to me. The controls were hard.

Those are the only two I've played.

I've played Darkhul King and Chaos Bleeds. Beaten them both, but I'm trying to beat Chaos Bleeds again.

I have Chaos bleeds and I love it. I love Faith's level. It's my favorite. It took me a while to beat but I did it.
I am still in the middle of Buffy for gameboy color and it's ok. Nothing special. But still nice to have.
I just ordered Rath of the Darkhul King from an eb games close to me. They said it would be in in a couple of days. So when I get that I will let you know how it goes.

For anyone who can't beat a game, level etc...you can always go to Game FAQS (www.gamefaqs.com) search for you console and then search the game. The faqs are there to help.

Make sure that when you are running around the area that you turn to look at him when he is coming up to a barrell. Most times it makes him turn around and grab it instead of just passing it by.

I hate the Adam level in Chaos Bleeds. I died like five times before I figured out to just throw the fricking EMP at him! Haha. And Chaos Bleeds? SHEESH...Dude, I got stuck on the fifth level for a year because I couldn't find Faith. It was only an accident I ended up in the basement...thank God I did, though! :lmao:

I just picked up Rath of the Darkhul King today. I like it so far, although I have not gotten past the beginning because I keep jumping into a big whole isntead of grabbing a rope. I can't seem to grab the rope. Oh well, it will come to me.

Chaos Bleeds on the PS2 for sure... I love it!!! (I read the book first and its one of my favs as well), although I tend to always get stuck :S I'm so rubbish at anything that isn't RPG final fantasy style.

Clem Rocks agrees: Run and double jump to grab it

No I tried that. Double jump is pushing up and r a couple of times no? Cause if so, I can't do it. I am very mad at the game right now and will get back to it when I feel better, lol.

The ONLY reason I bought an X-Box was for the Buffy games. Fable was a convenient excuse, too.

Yes me too. LMAO! First I bought the game just to have it but looking at it while walking through the mall, I was like "Let me get an X-Box so I can play it." So I bought an X-Box the same day.

And yes, Fable is a necessity for anyone who has an X-Box.

No love for the Buffy board game?

Alas, boardgamegeek is down and it cannot be linked to. Suffice it to say, it's surprisingly fun. They even got the "all Xander can do is help others because he's dead meat if he goes off by himself" dynamic down.

Yeah. I can't remember who made it, but you can play against any of the Big Bads from seasons 1-4. The rules depend on which villain is being played. You can even have the Scoobies turned into vampires. It's almost like playing an RPG board game.

I have seen two different boxes for the boardgame. So it's either one game with two different covers or there are two different board games.

Funny thing I noticed today, it's in the new SAW IV movie. One of the scene takes place in a moseleum (see pic below) that reminded me a lot of one of the one in the "Buffy: Chaos Bleeds" Game (think it's the graveyard level? You're Buffy and have to put a statue thing on a pad to open the door?

The picture's below, thought to share!

Argh... I've been spending HOURS trying to get past Kakistos on Faiths level... It's driving me crazy! If I can't get past it soon I'm going to have to get someone who can do it to fly to Perth and get past it for me. I looked at all the different hints to get past him that my browser could google and still... Stuck!

those blue ball things that shoot out demon raising magic (i think there's 3 of them) need to stop glowing, then you can damage them.. They don't completely stop glowing, but it's a noticable difference, it seems like part of the forcefield breaks down.. This will only happen for a few seconds at a time, so you need to smash 'em up quickly. The orb things will randomly stop glowing and yer, then you attack that one lol - if that makes sense. Eventually they will start changing colours and blow up once they've turned red. You need to knock them off one by one, oh and by the way, don't try to destroy them while they're glowing, it doesn't work, your better to kill the zombies in this time...

Lol anyway, enough of that, I have Chaos Bleeds on PS2, I always wanted the BTVS game that was released on X-box, but you couldn't get it on PS2, so I haven't played it... Sounds like it's the better of the two? Oh well...

Faith's level was challenging for me to, but dont worry you'll get it, and another thing you might wanna do is keep moving. Even when your trying to break the orbs move around them. That way you can see whats going on and its not as easy for Kakistos and the Zombies to get you. I found it very helpful.

Wow you guys thought Faith's level was hard? I thought it was one of the easist :lmao: I'm still not done though, I'm currently in the mall with Willow. Too many doors lol

The High School and Initiave were the hardest so far for me, IMO. I always got so lost and confused in the HighSchool lol and it took me so long to defeat Anyanka, and to defeat Adam. I dunno what I would've done without online help lol

I actually enjoy this game, although there's many plot issues. Like where's Dawn? And why is Faith and Ethan more important than Giles or Anya? And WTH with the dummy? Too random lol

Primal Slayer
05-11-2008, 05:28 PM
well the dummy is for the fans to enjoy since skip(is that his name?) is from S1, that was a nice surprise and addage. But with Xander providing the "mortal" element and Willow adding the "witch" element, there wasnt much Giles and Anya would be able to contribute indivually imo.

I would rather have played Giles than Xander. He was next to useless.

05-11-2008, 07:56 PM
Haha, yes True Vengeance, you're completely right! I was watching it and all of a sudden realised - Joyce can't be dead without Dawn being around. And I was completely bummed out that I couldn't play as Giles even though from what I've seen he seems to be a much better fighter.

No love for the Buffy board game?

LOVE the Buffy RPG board game. I have spent many an entire night playing with my hubby and two friends. I bought mine off of Ebay.

I have both BtVS and BtVS:Chaos Bleeds for Xbox. I adore the first one. Love the second only for it's environment (Sunnydale in particular). I found the gameplay just wretched on Chaos Bleeds. The game engine they used for the first one was so fluid and beaufitul, CB was clunky and slow and awkward.

Yay, I finally beat Adam! Now if only Willow would cast that blinking sun spell when I tell her to. . . . These controls are no fun.

^ If it's the room right after you trip the laser, here's what you do:
Edge around the left side of the room a little way until you find a steam vent. Smack it. Steam will fill the room until you can see laser beams on the floor. Head right, jump over the laser beam, and go up those stairs. That should get you back on track. :)

own and have played the game boy colour one which i completed a few years back, the game boy advance one (wrath of the darkhul king) which i also completed and the ps2 chaos bleeds which i have also completed. my fave has to be chaos bleeds as i prefer main consoles to hand held consoles.however i love to play wrath of the darkhul king when i don't have access to a main console. i'm so excited about the new buffy the vampire slayer game called sacrifice on the ds it should be coming out in november for europe i think?

any body struggling on the chaos bleeds game should check out this link Guides: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Chaos Bleeds Guide (PS2) (http://uk.guides.ign.com/guides/552246/page_4.html) as i found it useful when i got stuck through various stages.hope that helps people

I have tried all the different things that people have suggested, still no luck, maybe when I get back from this holiday I can try one more time - after that I'm giving up! It's frustrating cause I nailed the other Buffy PS2 game with no worries... maybe I'm losing my touch. I'm trying to find a friend that is good at computer games to try and get me past it!

It's not you. The controls on Chaos Bleeds are terrible. I hate that you can't interrupt an attack to, you know, RUN. And they respond about a half second behind, so by the time you react to something, you're already getting pummeled.
