How did Angel become human?

Angel believes it's the work of the Senior Partners, but the official cause isn't clear yet.

Ah ok. I thought it may have been due to Illraya's time shifts while fighting him.

He thinks they (the Senior Partners) robbed him of his vampire abilities just when he needed them most to stop him trying to escape from the hell dimension.

Was this during the time he couldn't move? and if so, would he turn back into a vampire if they got back to our diminison?

That would work, in theory.

But will he be Angel or Angelus?

I see no reason it would be Angelus that returns.
The only change noted is humanity, so reversal shouldn't affect anything else, including his soul.

But wouldn't it be a very interesting twist and storyline if when he became a vampire again it was as Angelus and not Angel.
I'm not saying it's likely as my instinct tells me his soul will remain in tact, but I'm just saying it would be an interesting twist....

I guess it might be an interesting storyline, but it doesn't seem like something W&H would do. They never cared much for Angelus. After all, their apocalypse requires a vampire with a soul, which Angelus is not.

I had forgotten about that.
There's always Spike.

We would have to have Angel back, vamp Angel. I couldn't live without him. Him being human just isn't the same.

He couldn't move because he broke his back and legs. Being human.
I think him being mortal is awesome. :D

Mortal Angel worries the shit out of me (now that I've finally been able to read 3 & 4 in the last couple days). I mean, obviously the next chapter isn't his last, or the 40 after that, but he's not taking his newfound limitations into consideration, at all. He's fairly dense about some things to begin with, but this is some next level stuff.

No, it happened during the fight in the alley - in what would be not long after Not Fade Away ended. Mid Battle Angel was wondering about Connor, Looking for Spike, noteing that the dragon was fighting on their side then looking for Gunn and then suddenly everything went wonky and he was in another dimension. He didn't really notice - he was concentrating on what had happened to Gunn, he jumped off a building to resucue some people caught up in the battle, half way down he realised he was human, then crashed into a parked car, breaking his legs and his back and thus incapacitating him for some months. Wesley helped heal him with magic.

He IS taking his limitations into account, however he tries to act like he's still a vampire, because he knows that if the Lords knew, they would walk all over him.

Must be in an issue I have yet to read.
