hi guys
okay, so I've seen 'School Hard' yesterday, and you know how Spike talks about Drusilla being weak on account of that mob in Prague.
Now my question is, what could the mob have done to her? Or more generally asked, how can you weaken vampires like that without killing them?
This question has been bugging me all day, I'm so lucky BB is back so I could finally post it, yay.

I thought that it was some sort of spell maybe? I hadnt really thought about it before, I just assumed it was a spell and left it at that! I would be interested to know what everyone else thinks too.

Maybe they were able to trap her and starve her of blood for an amount of time perhaps? Weakening her? Then Spike comes along, rescues his very evil damsel and they catch up with them? A bloodless Drusilla would be much more susceptible to an attack if she was in a blood-deprived state....
I'm not really sure to be honest. Maybe they had Praguian (?) Heckle and Jeckles there and it was all spells that weakened Drusilla. A spell-charged mob, haha.

I think I heard something about there being a comic about this, but I wouldn't quote me on it.

Actually BB that rings a bell with me too. I think there is somewhere. One of the stand-alone Sprusilla comics. I know they did a load of them at one point, and I'm sure Prague is one of them...

It's in "Tales of the Vampire" - its one of the stories called "The Problem With Vampires" written by Drew Goddard and it tells how Dru was captured and tortured. She gets metal spikes put through her body - everywhere but the heart and then Spike comes and rescues her.

Ouch. Just out of curiosity, did this have anything to do with Spike or was it just coincidence that they used metal spikes?

I suppose it would depend- it would be related if the reason they were attacking Dru with metal spikes was revenge for Spike torturing the mob's friends and relatives with railroad spikes as he often did. Otherwise I would think it was entire morbid coincidence.
However, since I haven't the read the comic, these are the thoughts of a clueless person, haha.

i always assumed excessive amounts of holy water and fire... kind of like what the master let willow do to angel in the wish... i'd be interested to know the educated answer to this question... a spell hey?

No it was a specially designed torture chair from the 14th century (i think) that they strapped Dru into and wound a handel and all these big and little spikes slowly drive through her body.

And some mystical thing which made it so the pain would always be with her.. until she performed that ceremony thing in Buffy season 2 ;) It's a good story, kinda sweet.

How long ago did it happen? If it wasn't mystical, then why didn't Dru simply heal?
