Darkhorse has posted the comic online. So those of you who haven't read Tales can see how this might have some continuity with season 8.
Not my fav Tales story, but it's not bad... shows how Dracula loves Xander, and sees himself as a sad old man.

Ooh, I like the fact I get to read it online. Free reading makes our speaking English good. And you know, adds to the Buffyverse Dracula lore. Haha
Though Drac seems very lonely :pats Drac comfortingly on the back from a distance:
Thanks for the link Alexa! I would give you more karma but apparently you are the last person I karmafied.

It's fun to see a different side of Dracula, and I really think Xander should visit once in awhile. It's quite obvious that they bonded over that year. The image of Xander and Dracula tooling around the countryside on motorbikes is one that will stay with me for a long time to come.

I read this last night over at slayalive. I*t was a good read. Not the greatest, but good. I still want to know how long after "Chosen" it takes place.

Who knew that a piece of writing (whether comic book or otherwise) would make us feel sympathetic for an evil bloodsucking fiend to the point that we encourage an innocent(ish) guy such as the Xan Man to go spend some time with afore mentioned bloodsucking fiend so he doesn't get lonely.
What a strange world Joss has dragged us into....

I thought this story was very intriguing, but I don't like the fact that Xander's been with Dracula for a year. That just seems too weird. Why wouldn't Buffy have rescued him sooner?

I thought that. A mean a whole year seems a little long. But maybe Xander had just gone missing and it's only now that they found out where he was. Still that's a reeeeeeaaaaaaaally long search, haha.

Maybe they thought he was just on holiday or travelling or something, and only just found out he was actually with Drac

Maybe Dracula cast some sort of spell to keep Xander hidden longer?

Maybe Dracula kidnapped him right after he went off to Africa?!? If he even was supposed to go to Africa... I guess probably not. Willow wasn't in Rio.... was she?

With the new season 8 comics I've come to a very simple conclusion; Joss enjoys confusing us. He's made all previous canon, or at least presumed canon, completely irrelevant making us all go 'Hey, hold the phone so she's not...and he's not....and they weren't....'

It's possible Andrew just made all that stuff up... A year does seem long, unless he was kidnapping him for a week on and off for a whole year? Hope we find out.

Andrew wasn't in it.

Yeah I'm talking about Andrew telling Spike about what the scoobies were doing

Yeah, I'm thinking your right. I always imagined a scene like:
Giles: Oh and Andrew? I believe it's best if Angel and the others don't know about Buffy's whereabouts. Or the others for that matter. With them working at Wolfram and Hart presently I don't wish to risk them tracing us.
Andrew: Does this mean I can tell them anything to get them off the scent?
Giles: Ah...within reason.
Andrew: [Mock(or is it?) Serious] Interesting....
Giles: I warn you now Andrew it is be nothing involving Jedis.
Andrew: [Stomps foots] Awww, but I-
[Her continues to prattle off Star Warsy references until Giles, unable to take it anymore says]
Giles: Leave Andrew.
[Andrew wanders off already concocting numerous stories to tell Angel and co and whoever else he comes across]
It just seems typically Andrew to be told not to tell them where Buffy is, but elaborating more and more till he's telling them the Scooby Gang are off in the four corners of the world fighting...Klingons or something. Haha.

Then again, considering the whole Buffy/Immortal/Rome copout, maybe they just had a double of Xander roaming around Africa in order to confuse his enemies (Yeah, I'm still mad about that. I REALLY wanted to know more about the Immortal, if only to see if my theories about him were in any way similar to the "real" thing)

I think they'll deal with the Immortal sooner or later. I doubt that he'll stay an unseen character for the rest of the Buffyverse's existence.

I can't remember where I heard him say it (might have been a podcast), but I heard Scott Allie say he didn't think Joss would be going into the whole Immortal thing. Who knows though. He could be trying to lead us off the trail of the Immortal as Twilight for all I know.

I'm really trying these days not to drag someone else's thread off on tangents, but I will say this final thing: I have been intrigued (call that dang near obsessed) with the Immortal since he was first mentioned in "The Girl In Question," and I will feel really cheated if there is not some kind of answer to just what or who he, she, or it, it really is.

Here's the piece you're looking for N4H:
6) Eventually will we learn anything more about the other Buffy decoy slayer? Two were mentioned, one died in The Chain, and the other is seemingly dating a mystery man named "The Immortal". Yes, no?
Scott Allie: That all sounds right. I don’t think we’ll have room to get much more into the decoys. There’s so much else to explore.

One I'm wondering if Xander and Dracula have had sex during the year that they were together, that'd be great. I definitely would like to see some man on man action in the Buffyverse as we haven't had any, but had plenty of girl on girl.
Two I don't get why Dracula has aged, I mean isn't he a vampire? I thought vampires were you know ageless or rather the older they get the less human they look like the Master.
I think one thing I hope they'll explain in the future is why is DRacula so different from other vampires. I mean Buffyverse made the point of saying that Dracula is no different than other vampires only difference is he learned some gypsy magick, however he doesn't have the vamp face, and he appears to have more of a soul than most vampires even though he too is soulless, and like Willow said he'd drink just to feed but he'd rather have a connection with his victims.
PS- I HATED the drawing

Dracula aging, at least periodically, may have something to do with why he's different from normal vampires in other ways.
