This one pairs nicely with the fav-TotV thread. I was wondering what everyone's favourite story from Tales of the Slayers is?

I chose Nikki Goes Down, mostly for the art, but I liked the story about the two Indian girls (I think maybe they were sisters) in the old west where one was a slayer, and one was a vampire. What was the title of that one?

You mean The Glittering World. How do you know they're sisters? I never got that from the story... maybe I need to re-read this.

I like Presumption the best mainly because it's a clever story, i love jane espenson, i love anything set in Regency England and the slayers name is Elizabeth and my name is Elizabeth cos it's always nice to see your name in a really cool story:)

I absolutely am fricking in love with the Slayer mythology but alas, I haven't read ToTS. I do know that Mel is my favorite Slayer (right behind Faith and Buffy) so if I would have read it I would have chosen her. :)

I think I may have got the Navajo legend the narrator is telling in the background mixed up with the actual story. The legend tells of a set of twins born into the land in the first days. The tale of the slayer tells of a Navajo woman who's also a slayer hunting the vampire half-breed woman that killed her watcher. The insinuation is that the Navajo slayer, and the half-breed share a sisterly similarity in that they walk in 2 worlds, but are connected to neither.

I liked the little prelude to Tales of the Slayer too where they showed the sad existence of the Primeval protecting the villages, but never being accepted by the village people.

I know it's lame because we already have a whole Fray story, but I just loved how Joss jumped into Fray's world again so easily in Tales.
He repeats that 'my hands are shaking' line, which is my favourite from the book.. how does he know these things? :p Really wasn't expecting the hole with the scythe in it.. be cool to see how significant that is in more Buffy stories.

But I also liked the first story with the blonde chick.. owh and The first slayer.. it's short, but you really have to pay attention to the 'that's why they only chose one' line - all about men controlling women. Nikki wasn't bad either.
