Buffy In Angel Season 5

Forget the fact that Sarah wouldn't/couldn't make an appearance in Season 5, do you really wish that she could have done so and answered the Spuffy/Bangel question once and for all, or do you things the way they currently are, allowing for all of the discussion and bickering (totally friendly, of course) that we have enjoyed both here on the Boards and elsewhere wherever Buffy fans may gather?

As for me, I wouldn't trade the fun I've had here arguing with my friends and fellow Buffyites for anything that I can imagine.

I agree. Some things better stay unsolved. I mean, this is probably the most discussed question in Whedonverse forums, would we really give up all the fun just to know who was right? It's better like this. I acknowledge Buffy loved them both and that's all I need and want to know.

In response to Social Suicide: I absolutely loved the idea of Cordy and Angel, but my feelings are personal. Like, I enjoyed Angel being with Buffy because Angel enjoyed it, but I personally don't like her for him. I don't much like any of the characters on Buffy- they all have rude dispositions and are hypocrites, but our boy Liam's story with her has run up, and he doesn't need any more pain or problems in his non-life.

I prefer this issue unresolved. I don't think that IF Joss had been able to get Sarah to guest star in AS5, he would have resolved the issue. I'm not sure even he knows who she's going to end up with.

I really cannot see Buffy spending the rest of her life with either Spike or Angel. And I think that both vampires had to grow beyond her.

I love it unresolved and i think we're all better off bickering (in a friendly way of course!) about it than having it resolved one way or the other. Alright, i admit, i'd rather have no ending rather than the ending i don't want. I just wish they'd give us some fresh information/stories to futher fuel our debates! c'mon that naughty nurse picture was ages ago!

seriously though, i don't think we'll ever get resolution on this - it would risk alienating huge sectors of the fandom wouldn't it?

I'd like Buffy to die @ 32.
I'd like for Angel to Shanshu in 4 years and live to 78 and die, married with no more children.
I'd like for Spike to get dusted in 12 years from their current time.
I'd like for it all to end at some point.

I'm alienated :(

I think buffy should have been there, angel appeared in every season of buffy. I love them together, and I wish they could work it out, but joss won't let it happen. I think she won't be with spike either, simply because they are both vamps, and buffy wants to he normal so bad that it just won't happen for spike or angel.

white avenger agrees: Angel wasn't in Seasons 5 or 6. He was mentioned in 5, but I don't think he was in 6.

Angel was in season 5. He appeared in "Forever".

I like Angel's final season without an actual Buffy performance. Don't get me wrong, I totally love SMG and the Buffy character, but I like the shows as two exclusive ideas... I never liked the crossovers.

Honestly, I don't even care which one she goes with, even though I have a theory that she only loves people with 5 letters in their names - Who is with me on it being Giles!!!

I want it resolved. I'm the girl that always wants a happy ending, and I want one for Buffy. Be it Angel or Spike (preferably Angel) I just want a HAPPY ENDING with one of them! While the debating is fun, it's also torture to me. This is 10 years of love and heartache. I could probably go 10 more years, but that's about it. The issue totally needs closure by that point.

So, to answer your question WA, I would have liked to have seen SMG make an appearance in AS5, but I'm glad the issue wasn't resolved then. I want a perfectness and it wouldn't have come then. That is still hopefully on the horizon.

I'm a guy, but I can relate to Buffy and Angel's relationship, my g/f and I have some of the same "realistic" issues that they have dealt with. I just want to her to pick at this point. I am hoping for Angel, but she just needs to pick and stick with it for the rest of the series!! These discussions just make me feel worse then actually watching the show lol

One of the things I liked about Angel and Spike's Buffy battles in S5 is that it was clear that neither of them were in love with her anymore. She was just a trophy to bash the other one over the head with. Having a serious convo about locking your ex in a magic box? Yeah, not love.

While on the topic of Buffy in Angel S5, I also like where Cordy and Buffy ended. Watch Buffy S3 again. OK, now I tell you that in the last season of the Buffyverse, one of these 2 ends up kicking ass, saving the day, and having a bittersweet goodbye kiss with Angel (complete with sweeping string section), while the other is last seen getting her party on in a club with her dashing playboy boyfriend. Which story applies to which heroine? The unintentional hilarity kills me.
