I tried to upload this in the gallery with the other members pictures, but, I can't seem to do it (stupid computer). Anyway, this is me dressed as Spike for the 2002 Horror-A-Rama fest in Dayton, Ohio.

Pretty darn convincing. Had I been in Dayton for the horror fest and watched Buffy in 2002, I'm fairly certain I would have been able to have correctly guessed that you were dressed up as Spike. Good job!

Alas and alack. In 2002, I was not yet initiated into the wonders of Buffy worship. Also, I lived in Virginia. Coincidentally, though, I am a Cincinnati native, so I am fairly well familiar with your part of the country.

Whoa, you've definitely got the look down there. Very lookylikey. And like PV said- if I'd been at that Con and I'd have seen you I would have definitely and easily guessed you were Spike.

Thanks. My friends wife, who went with us, dressed as vamp Willow.

Haha. That must have been cool. Did she attempt the vamp make-up (using the Lost Boys things you can buy I'd presume) or was she non vamped out? hehe.

Non-vamped out. I wish I had a picture of her. It was very cool.

Very Cool :D

I dressed up as Dru once for Hallowe'en...most people didn't know who Dru was, so I don't know if I looked the much like her or not :p

Maybe we should hit a con in costume :)

That is pretty cool man, I like the detail, I plan on being Angel for the next halloween, but so far, I have gone full out on my Jack Sparrow costume. I felt like this year, it was time to break the POTC tradition, and take the Buffy approach. If only I can convince my g/f to be Buffy!

You know, it just occurred to me that someday long after anyone now living is dead, some historian is going to be digging through a garbage dump and find this picture. It made me wonder what that historian will think about the way we dressed and stuff in this time period. lol.

They're also going to wonder about any printed references to a 'Vampire Slayer'. They're going to be fully flummoxed. Which, wasn't that our plan all along? Mwa ha.

Also, on another note- you have too many thoughts. Haha.

You are so right about printed references! They're gonna be like, "Wait... they believed in a *what?*" Maybe they'll think we were part of some super secret mystery cult involving blood sacrifice.

Makes you wonder how much we get wrong about the ancient Mayans, doesn't it?

Yes, the historians of the future, when all DVDs have been destroyed in The Great DVD Fire of 3003. will be spending decades researching into a Chosen One and trying to find any Mythology of a Slayer. Discussing on the History Channel how humans in the 2000s were a strange race of people and in each generation there was one girl....

And yes, haha. Maybe we did get a lot wrong about their culture. Maybe they were all just engaging in an elaborate Fantasy RPG....

That would be cool. You have pics of your Capt. Jack costume? I've seen some very good ones at cons over the last year or so.

Ya, ive got some pics, its prolly nuthin like the hardcore fans, but I made it from normal clothes, I liked it. I even went as far to nail his voice too, and everyone was impressed. I'll upload them soon.

Looking forward to seeing them.

I do a lot of costuming for Halloween and conventions. This past Halloween I dressed as a Cobra Special Forces from G.I. Joe, and for cons I dressed as the 9th Doctor from Doctor Who, complete with a replica of his Sonic Screwdriver. I'm now working on a Costume for Capt. Jack Harkness from Torchwood.

wow!! You look so good like that!! Haha, mind if i throw myself at you now :P JOKE!

I love dressing up- last year was the first year i hadn't gone as dru or faith for Halloween- and thats just cuz I had all my hair cut off, and didn't want to wear a wig.... but i figured you can't be Dru or Faith without the long dark hair :(

Although some of my friends used to say I resembled Faith a bit (her and Angelina Jolie)... with was the biggest compliment ever!

here are a couple of pics of the Jack Sparrow costume, keep in mind, we made it from regular clothes, so I know it's not the best one out there, but it still looks pretty cool

Walk of Fame as in Hollywood?

Walk of Fame as in Hollywood?

Yeah. Sometimes, my hubby and I go to the movies at the Chinese theater. We don't do that very often anymore because our work situations have changed, but it used to he that he worked near Santa Monica and I worked in Hollywood, so it would be kind of convenient to go to Hollywood and Highland for movies and shopping and stuff. The Arclight is actually closer to his old office, but I don't like the screen there. The curve on it makes me all motion sick. Anyway, outside the Chinese theater, they've got a bunch of street performers that get pictures taken with tourists there. Last time my dad was in town, we got pictures with Bill and Hilary Clinton and sent them to my republican mom. lol. Mostly, the performers do Film characters. The guy who does Jack Sparrow is pretty cool. He and his buddy do Jack and Davey Jones. They're very friendly and personable (maybe because they were hitting on my roommate), although not much with the acting or staying in character. Hehe. His makeup is a little better than yours was, but his costume is similar.

Actually, the best actors I've seen out there have been PinHead and Charlie Chapman. The first time I saw PinHead, I thought he was a statue until he moved and totally freaked me out. lol. His makeup wasn't that convincing, though. I was totally preoccupied with looking for a certain block and then bam! The statue in front of me moved because it wasn't a statue at all. Then it made sense. I had wondered why a cool theater like that had a statue of such a crappy movie character in front of it. Now Charlie Chaplain... he's got the whole package. He's got the look and the acting down pat. I love him to pieces.

Ooh... maybe you should do Charlie Chaplain for your next costume!

I think I may be a bit too tall to play Charlie, but I can do his walk...lol
