okay in season 4 the powers sooooooo royally pissed me off. alright to start they did nothing while jasmine manipulated the events of angel. then after that they allowed jasmine to have skip make cordy a semi demon then ascend to a higher being. though jasmine was pretty messed up she was right about the other powers they dont really care their just observers. and many angel characters have admitted it. i mean how do you(TPTB) allow the bearer of the visions you send them be possessed by one of your own kind. and unless i'm mistaken all the time jasmine went around masquerading as cordelia they did nothing to warn AI i thought that was very reckless of them while when cordelia spent time as a higher power she watched over AI even intervened(the house always wins) in a very instrumental way to save the team. the only ploy they made to stop jasmine's rise was to send darla there to reason with him but it was already to late jasmine had him wrapped around her fingers. TPTB should have been did something to stop jasmine until waiting til the last minute.

It was because Jasmine was manipulating the events behind the curtains. She prepared everything very carefully. She deceived the PTB. They didn't know what was happening until it was too late.

Moreover, it isn't the Powers task to solve every threat for us or our heroes. I feel that asking why the PTB don't help is the same as asking why God allows for famine, war, and disease.

In MY book the PTB aren't any different from the Senior Partners. In fact, for all we know, they're the same people.

I've never liked the Season 4 storyline. In fact, I've said before I think the season was kind of tossed together when they realized Charisma was pregnant. It makes the least amount of sense of ANY of the "big bads" in either series and tosses everything we thought we knew on it's heads. I'm still not sure I understand squat. There's Skip and Cordy and what seems to be two different PTB and ghost Darla and the place where Connor was born. It's like trying to cram all backstory of X-Files into one season.
I'm still not even clear on WHY Cordy wanted Angelus around if he was just gonna get mad and kill her beasty thing. It makes no sense. I often feel like there's just crap thrown in there to distract me from the fact that the storyline is lacking compared to other seasons of BOTH shows.

That's a very interesting theory. It certainly explains a lot of things. Hmm. . . .

I thought the idea of the PTB was ok, a good way for the writers to save half an episode by getting the PTB to say what would be happening. For that reason they had to be ' that mysterious element '.
Angel killed one of the senior partners so that didn't fit into my theory.
