Since I was writing the other night about how I felt like the Angel comics needed a break because they were harder to write because of how the series left off and *DON'T LOOK N4H* I kind of like George, he amuses me.

I shouldn't say I felt BAD defending him here, but I did kind of feel like it wasn't exactly helpful to him. So, I decided to just send Lynch an email just to say that I thought that even though the first two were kind of confusing, he had done quite well bringing the characters back in a reasonable amount of time and moving the story along. And that he seemed to understand the characters quite well.

Anyway, I zapped this along expecting to never hear anything from him. Maybe in a week or so get some "pre-written" email from his assistant saying all input is important or something like that.
Instead, I got home from my Mom's birthday tonight to find an email! I almost fell over.

Thanks so much for writing this. You rock up and down. Glad you like the books, and I'm really glad you like George.

Now if only Franco would draw George with big boobs like I've asked him over and over again. ;)

Seriously, thanks again. You have no idea how nice it is to get this kinda message.

Brian

I went up to tell my husband and I think he thought I was full of crap. I had to drag him downstairs to show him. Anyway, I just thought it was cool. More cool that he actually READS his mail and writes back.

Edit:

NEAT! The boards put in a real smiley! How cute!

Wow, that is so cool. Writing back himself is just great and I think shows how much he cares about the work and fans which is, well, nice. Bet you're still on a high from it though, huh? hehe

Excellent stuff...hearing that sort of thing is always nice. It's good to find out that our (and I hesitate to type it but you know what I mean) heroes are decent people who make time for their fans. I got a similar thrill back in pre-history when JMS personally replied to a post of mine in the Compuserve Babylon 5 forum.

I hope you managed to work in a mention of how great BB is ;)

Wow, it's great that you got a reply. I've felt like writing him too, but I never really got round to doing it, figuring such a mail would probably end up in the litter bin. Reading about your situation makes me think that maybe I should though.

When it comes to dealing with fans, Brian is the best. In this respect I think I actually prefer IDW over Dark Horse; they seem more involved with the fanbase.

Heck, not only did he write back, but according to the time stamp within like an hour and a half from me sending it. My own friends and family rarely do THAT!

Dude... that's amazing. That rocks.

One of you should mail him and ask him if he'd care to pop by and on those evenings he gets a bit bored, get involved in the debates.

Wait, he's NICE to me and we should intentionally lead him here to chat with you? :lmao:

I must say I don't read the comics so he doesn't fuss me - I was simply trying to be board spirited!!!

Haha it is a good idea though. Since he is a nice guy he'd either stop by or their's the chance he'll just never respond.

Bored of the Dead agrees: Its fine....Besides, i'll just tell him what I think he should write and tell him how his other stuff is crap compared to my story!!!

:lmao: :lmao: The nicer they are the harder they fall, eh?

I know he's active on Whedonesque, the IDW forum, and that cursed Slayalive board; he might just join!
