okay my question is how old is buffy. she should be 29 or 28 because i watched " i robot you jane" yesterday and when the demon moloch pulled up her file on the screen it first said 10/24/80 then when the guy clicked it switched to 5/6/79 i mean was that a fought on the writer's part or what just wanted to get you guys thought also if she really is 28 or 29 wouldn't that make her older than cordy. seeing as in angel episode birthday cordy was turning 21 in season 3. add 2 more season or should i say years she's about 23 when she died in season 5 year 2004. then add 4 more years since the show's been off the air she's 27. love to hear what anyone thinks about the matter.

If you look at her gravestone in Season 5 finale, you'll see she was born in 81, which would make her 27 this year. (I remember this cuz she has the exact same birthday date and year as my brother!).
Also, if you go by when she celebrates her birthday each year, you'll work it out at 27 then as well.

Yes she would be 27 this year as to be in her class (as I was in her grade at the exact same time ;) Hehe) you had to be born between I think September 1980- August 1981. So since Buffy was born in January, she'd have to be an '81 girl (we're the best of the bunch. Teehee). So yes, that would make Buffy 27. I just think in season one they hadn't really put much thought into the little details yet which was why there's such a mix-up there.

You'd think they'd at LEAST have caught the in-scene error where everything from her birthdate to her GPA changes, though, wouldn't you?

True. But maybe one was what they planned to be Buffy's birth year and then by mistake they entered Sarah's a second time? Maybe they were just very rushed.....too rushed to notice
Let's be honest, in season 1, the creators thought they would be a mid-season filler and MAYBE get a second season, so I'm thinking the little details weren't such a worry as they never thought they'd be around for long enough to have to fit them into a grander plan... or maybe the detail checker was off sick that day? :)

Aw, too bad they didn't use the '79 date, that would be cool, I'd be of the same age with Buffy... Alas...
