She is going to play "a troublemaker from Serena's past who makes Blair look about as dangerous as Donna Martin".
Whatever that means.

Guess that pesky financial i$$ue worked itself out after all: I can now reveal that not only was Michelle Trachtenberg the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna to whom I alluded in today's AA, but a deal has been sealed for her to join Gossip Girl.
And even though probably every other starlet in Hollywood under the age of 30 had to be salivating over the prospect of playing Georgina Sparks, a troublemaker from Serena's past who makes Blair look about as dangerous as Donna Martin, I think the CW's casting department nailed it. (C'mon, Buffy's sis was always one prickly pear!) For that matter, Trachtenberg lucked out, too: Could there be a more entertaining way for a young actress to make her comeback than by playing an adolescent Cruella? Didn't think so.
Thats awesome, I really like Gossip Girl it's a totally guilty pleasure, you know you shouldn't like it but you just have to. I loved the OC so was looking forward to it before it started and although it didn't hook me straight away like the OC did(Still think it has one of the best pilots ever), I grew to really enjoy it. Also the music is Fantastic in it!
So Michelle joining the cast will be cool, didn't she play a bitchy character on Six feet under? So I could see her doing this pretty well!

Cool. I'm one of those people who rolled over from the O.C. into watching Gossip Girl. It's been mildly entertaining so far. I hope Michelle's guest appearance is gonna spice things up.

I love Gossip Girl, so should be interesting to see Michelle playing a 'bad girl'. I have no idea who Donna Martin is, but if Michelle's character is meant to make Blair look sweet, then she must be pretty evil :D
I am so freaking excited! GG is currently filling a hole in my viewing schedule and to have any Buffy alum on a show is always a good thing!
oh and Donna Martin was the goody-two-shoes, perfect virgin girl played by Tori Spelling in Beverly Hills 90210
:)

Uhm, isn't Gossip Girl a book series? At least I'm pretty sure I have a book called that...I didn't know there was a TV show! Well if Michelle's going to join the cast I'm going to watch it :D Ex Buffy actresses are always a good reason to watch something.

Yeah, the tv show is based on the books. I've actually started reading the books because of the tv series, I'm quite enjoying them :)

SOOO is anyone else watching? I freaking LOVE Michelle as Georgina. She is perfect for the role!
Next week's eppy looks SO good!
Here's a neat little on-the-set interview with Michelle:
'Gossip Girl' Set Visit: Penn Badgley's Dan -- And The Rest Of Us -- Meets Michelle Trachtenberg's Scheming Georgina
'She represents everything he hates,' Badgley says of the newest arrival to the CW's hit drama.
NEW YORK -- As the newbie on "Gossip Girl," Michelle Trachtenberg expected some hazing when she started on set, but her new acting partner has given her a little more than she bargained for.
"He keeps wanting to sniff my butt, but we're so not there yet," Trachtenberg said.
And no, she doesn't mean Chace Crawford or Penn Badgley, who play the show's hearthrobs Nate and Dan. She's talking about Dylan, a 6-year-old dog her character Georgina uses to lure Dan into having a conversation with her in Central Park.
"He has no idea who she is," Badgley told MTV News. "If he did, he wouldn't be interacting with her, because she represents everything he hates."
"That, and I made his lady love [Serena] live in hell for a bit," Trachtenberg added.
Georgina Sparks, a character in the "Gossip Girl" books just now being introduced in Monday's episode, "comes with a lot of history," Trachtenberg explained. But Georgina is bound and determined not to tip her hand when she introduces herself to Dan, calling her dog "Georgie" and herself "Sarah."
Georgina pretends that she's been playing catch with the dog, and as their ball rolls near the bench Dan's sitting on, he catches it, giving Georgina an excuse to approach him.
"It's a Penn tennis ball," Badgley said. "A great move on props. They had to take the name off for trademarking reasons."
"Oh, is your name Penn?" Trachtenberg laughed. "That's so crazy. Nice to meet you."
The two actually met over green tea at the craft-service table, but they rehearse their meeting over and over, while shivering in black coats. For the actual scene, they're dressed as if it's warm out.
"Don't act so cold!" the director shouted to them.
"I don't want to be playing the world's smallest violin here," Badgley said, "but I think the job of an actor is to wear winter clothing when it's hot, and wear a nice silk shirt when it's freezing out."
Rubbing her hand on Badgley's face, Trachtenberg laughed, "My fingers are like 'The Night of the Living Dead.' "
But this is no horror movie it's "Gossip Girl." And as such, Trachtenberg and Badgley felt duty-bound to allude to something juicy happening behind the scenes, at least, to compensate for not knowing what's coming up on the show.
"The truth is, we don't have many of the scripts yet," Badgley said. "We have an idea, but we can't say. But a lot of people want to know the dirt."
"Well, there's a tape of him naked," Trachtenberg said.
"More than one," Badgley said.
"Remember, gossiping is dangerous," Trachtenberg said. "But do it."

Oh god, I love the series, I just saw the first episode with MT, she's great in it. It's such addictif series, I read on Imdb there might also be a return of Georgina, but nothing really confirmed as far as I know.

The only part of that show I watched was when Michelle was on and she did marvelously. I loved her part and she looked completely hot doing it. (Feels sort of strange saying Dawn is hot, but ehh... it is what it is). If she comes back, I'll start watching it again.

I dont think she will be back anytime soon. I know originally they were going to bring her back most likely as a cast member but decieded against it. But I would love her to come back.

Haha, I neither see her really come back, but I read it so. Though I thought it was weird she was so "scared" of her parents after all she actually does/did.

Ya I thought that was a bit of a cop-out on the writers part.
