I think this episode is so underrated. I watched it like once and kind of
forgot about it. I just watched it again tonight and WOW. This is such an
amazing episode and the magic/drug metaphor is amazing to me in this.

My cousin had a drug addiction, she's not alive anymore because of it. But
this episode potrayed it so well I just was blown away, and I was like "how
did I not remember this one!". Alyson did such a great job in this episode with
everything she did it was so real to me and really hit home. If you don't think
much of it, watch it again. I just can't describe how great this one was.

Anyone else feel the same?

Yeah, I've always loved this episode; though most people watch it once and find it dull. I don't know what it is that appeals to me about the episode but there's like some kind of message. And I love the ending of the episode; and ya know the whole Amy is human thing. Great episode :)

I've always loved Smashed/Wrecked. I don't really know why, I just do.

And how anyone can find Wrecked dull is beyond me!

I loved this entire arc, but I found the initial drug metaphoriness a bit heavy handed. It was like the writers went "LOOK AT OUR DRUG METAPHOR! ISN'T IT PRETTY?! DO YOU GET IT?!!" And I'm all *hands over ears* "God! Yes! I get it! Geez!"

But overall, I really enjoyed the way they set up the parallels between Buffy and Willow trying to quit their respective life-destroying habits.

I TOTALLY agree with you BB. It was a little... overdone? I felt like they were pushing it a little too much to the point where it was getting a little...cheesy for me. But that's not to say i don't love the episode.

I don't think it was overdone at all. Everything they did was pushed hard enough making it all-too real. Once again, a great underrated episode!

I haven't seen this episode in a while, but I think it is an underrated episode, not many people seem to like it, but it's pretty good. However, it's not a favourite of mine. I agree with Blondie Bear and LittleMissLikesToFight that it was a bit overdone, but not so much to make it a bad episode. It's definately enjoyable. I also liked Buffy and Willow's plots, and the parallels between them.

Not a favorite of mine, but I do agree it is kinda underrated. More enjoyable to me than some of the other favorites everyone has, that's for sure.

What I really loved about the episodes Smashed/Wrecked? The Tara/Dawn scenes...so cute!

I loved Smashed/Wrecked! Two of the most underrated episodes, next to Tough Love from season 5.

I loved the de-ratting of Amy. It was nice to see, as Willow puts it, another "magically inclined" person who actually abused their power. Also, Tara was always so shy and careful, so it was like we got to see a whole new side of Willow that sort of hinted toward what would happen in the last three episodes of the season. I also agree with Blondie Bear...it was cool how Buffy and Willow's situations seemed to contrast.

I do agree, however, with the fact that they sort of shoved the drug metaphor in your face. But when you look back at the other episodes of the season, you start to notice that they do that a LOT. Still, it doesn't make a difference to me, 'cause I love season 6.
