Issue #5 Illyria/Wes

I wanted to know how everyone felt about one of the issue 5 covers. The one with Illyria and Wes on it. I must say when I saw the cover I was blown away by how much Illyria's art looked like a photo of Amy Acker.

Does anyone know if the artist (rebecca) used an actual photo and did a cartoony thing with it, or actually drew it herself? Cause if she did it herself, the likeness is so spot on that I would like to see much more art from her.

The artist doesn't seem to care one way or the other what the actors really look like (same for Buffy) because "any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is a mere coincidence." The bad thing is, they don't even look the same consistently through the episode. It's like two or three different artists are involved with each issue, and they can't decide on how a character should look.

You don't think alot of things look like people, covers, statues etc. Hmm, maybe you are seeing things wrong. ;)

and some of them look like people, like that Buffy season 8 cover that has Anthony Head on it =]

i think the cover with illyria and wes looks great. thats the one i bought.
