InterDorm Comp: Pin the tale on the Anya Donkey

[Black Eye Guy]

As anyone in a house will be aware they have been asked to hide an Anya Donkey relating to their house somewhere on the boards.

Moments ago I personally released 4 Donkeys around the boards (This also means im not taking part in the game for obvious reasons.)

So Pin the tale on the Anya Donkey is officially open, go find those donkeys!.

Rules

You are to locate the 3 other Donkeys from the other houses.
If you not in a house get yourself sorted so you can play - Sorting Tome
When you find the Donkey you post it in the thread in your house.
Once all 3 Donkeys have been found any member can post all 4 (The 3 and your own houses) in this thread.
You must include each Anya donkey and the post they were found in Quoted in this thread.
Any question can be directed to your House prefects or here.

The winning house will be awarded 500 house points and for each donkey found the other houses will reciveve 50points!

But really, have to give a MAJOR congrats to EVERYONE!! That was intense! I really don't think I've ever looked through so many threads in my life, and heck if I could find any! The art threads were one of the deeper levels of hell though, I have to say-- BEG and Lyri, when I saw how long your art threads were I literally almost cried :silly:

I've updated the big board (http://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?t=27292)with the following -

VH - 500 hp
Merrick - 200hp
Drogyn - 50hp
And I'll update Raiden as soon as they let me know!

well congrats to the winning house. We at Raiden tried our best but alas we didnt search fast enough. But we at least get points for the donkeys found right? Fun competition, majorly hard on the eyes (I most have looked threw hundreds of posts!) Wish we would have known about the thrid page of each thread deal a bit sooner too...so yeah, hard, but fun. :)

I want to clear something up that we learned.

Apparently you can search using the last edited post thing.
If that is the case then how does that make this kind of game fair?

I knwo its not in the rules but even if it was, how can you police that?

Now, we at VH didn't search like this, had we done so we wouldn't have had such a hard time looking for Drogyns Donkey, but as far as the other houses go, I think that it shouldn't be allowed.

Please note though, we didn't search like this, so whomever did, all I can say is 'HA HA'.

I searched by putting "last edited by Black Eye Guy" into the search function on my browser and hitting "find next" every time I opened a thread. I still had to open EVERY SINGLE thread; there's no way to search this way using the forum's search function. Also, none of the cool little cheaty search features on Google helped this at all. So I don't think that there's really a way to cheat or speed things up; the browser search only keeps you from having to scroll down through every page, it doesn't take you directly to the donkey.

It hadn't even occurred to me that you would be able to search for threads I had edited.

It wasn't against the rules so can someone confirm that it actually works? From doing tests ourselves I couldn't see it working?

If we play this game in the future we'll just have it so no one knows who's hiding the donkeys, so no biggie! :)

Also the prefects have discussed how each house searched for the donkeys so I know VH found their Donkeys they weren't using the search function, just old fashioned "hand by hand" searching!

It's not possible to search for threads edited by a certain person, only to search on a certain page for the text "last edited by." Trust me, I tried all the dirty tricks. None of them work.
