I think the Pin the Tail game we were just playing was the first game to really get the houses a buzzing with people saying they were really enjoying it.

So I was just wondering what people thought of the games, is it a feature you like about the houses?
Do you think their should be more rivalry about it?
Whats been the best game?
Are they active enough?

since people liked the Anya donkey one should it be more regular?
Would you play it even if the searching requirements were expanded, such as; Any post in Any thread as long as it's on the first 10 pages of the forum?

Do you have any general stuff you'd like to add?
Any games you'd like to suggest?

All feedback is welcome, I know the games wern't really as active towards the end of last year but I was hoping to correct that this year, you can PM me stuff as well if you don't want to post it publicly!

I think as a new member and new to the houses that the games are a nice touch. I know personally that I have alot of pride for my house. Mostly because my house is full of fantastic members! I think we are most likely smaller than the other houses. Well active member wise. But I really feel like we are a great group of guys and gals. I think we should deffinatly do more house competitions. The anya donkey search was great and I think it shoudl be a recurring game maybe anually or something.

I like the idea of getting into maybe a pride war on the board. You know the whole "we've got spirit yes we do...we've got spirit how bout you?" type deal. I wouldnt really know how to go about this...I guess maybe a submission of something new from the members of the house to exhibit the unity of the house or something. I dont know but keep the games coming! And yes I think the Anya donkey game should be more challenging next time. 10 threads sounds good :) It will cause the searches to go longer.

Any contest using or referencing or alluding to Anya, is perfectly acceptable and welcomed by me. :)

I had fun! For reals.

So I was just wondering what people thought of the games, is it a feature you like about the houses?

Yes. I like the games. I think the houses are great fun even without the games, but the games do help to connect the houses to the rest of the board a little more.

Do you think their should be more rivalry about it?

Nah. We make our own rivalry.

Whats been the best game?

Although I voted for the New Year's Resolution banner contest, this is the only "game" in which I've participated, so I can't really judge.

Are they active enough?

See above.

I think it would be a good once a year thing, but I think it would get kinda boring if we were constantly searching threads for little graphics. Once a year, maybe twice, seems perfect for this kind of game. And yes, I would play if the search requirements were expanded.

Do you have any general stuff you'd like to add?

Thanks you, mods and prefects, for planning such a fun game!

Any games you'd like to suggest?

Umm... something writerly? I'll think on that some more and then get back to you.

IF you do the AnyaDonkey game again, I suggest you don't change it at all.

It got really boring fast. I can't imagine all the members taking part all the time because of that.

You need to keep it fresh, granted, but by making it available in more threads won't do that.

As for Board Wars - I like the idea. We should definitely do that, would love to take on our house rivals a bit more.

The Anya Donkey game was my first game here, and i must say it was pretty fun =D

One suggestion though, maybe do it in rounds with one donkey released each week or something, it would have been better if it lasted longer

I really enjoyed the donkey game. It was the first inter-dorm competition I've competed in. I don't enter the other competitions because I am no good with art or fan-fics. So this was easy and a lot of fun and I explored the boards a whole lot more too.

My only problem is the time difference between countries which you're never guna be able to fix :( I had a quick look once the game started but couldnt really keep my eyes open any longer! So I agree with clem rocks - maybe make the games go for longer or have different heats or spomething so everyone can participate fully. Other wise - great idea! I wouldnt want to search for anyadonkey everyweek but other interdorm games will be great :)

I don't think I could do the Anya Donkey thing again- looking through all those threads started to make me a little crazy-crazy! Haha
But I'd love more interdorm competitions. They're fun in a total random, crazy and competitive way :D.

But like Aussie said, because people are from all over the world on this board maybe it'd be a good idea to have games that go on for longer so our Australian buds aren't up in the wee hours of the morning. Teehee

i love the interdorm competitions! i think there should definitely be way more than it seemed there were last year! i really liked that wolf game we did once; i forget the actual name of that one, though. regardless, it was fun. from what i got to play of this one, it was fun too :D.

i didnt have exactly this same problem, but i do agree that time is an issue. i only came in for about the last 20 minutes of the game :D. perhaps extending it over more days, as clem rocks suggested, would be better to make sure everyone gets a chance to play :).

I have the same Time Zone problem... Though I had more than 20 minutes... Anyway, maybe next tile there should be 2 Anya Donkeys for each House?

Yeah... I agree about the timing thing. Obviously, I'm in better shape than our Aussie pals, but I did miss most of the contest and pretty much all of the April Fool's joke because by the time I got to the computer after my regularly scheduled activities for the day, those events were almost over. I definitely like the idea doing things in heats so that people can participate in the after work kind of hours no matter where they are.

Speaking of work... I just had a nightmare that I went back to work in the movie theater. *Cringes.* In the nightmare, I was opening supervisor. We got bombarded with people as soon as we opened the doors, but we were running out of popcorn and nachos and my boss was yelling at me while I was trying to get caught up.

I loved the Anya Donkey game because I actually found a donkey, so my boredom didn't really kick in as quickly as others. I was getting bored then found a Donkey, so I got excited about the game again! lol

I agree with BoD though if it's going to be a regular thing it could get boring pretty quickly.

I like the idea about hiding a donkey a week though.

As for the other games, so far they've been good, this is the first one I've participated in for a while though because I've been busy with real life commitments. I certainly enjoyed it though and it brought back my team spirit.

I thought it was tons of fun, especially the part where I was trying every trick Google could come up with to find the donkeys an easier way! (I'll give you a hint: it didn't work.) But we did have a little trouble in Merrick cause no one was quite sure what the parameters were--how far back did we need to look, which areas would they NOT be hidden in, etc. Maybe next time, when the game officially starts, we could get a really solid listing of all the rules.

Ah, time difference.. I searched for a while, then went to sleep, and when woke up the game was already over..
