Ouija boards give me a wiggins of the Uber variety but that looks simply stunning. Plus, Buffy which equals more stunning. And so greatly priced too!

I'm not really big on talking to dead people, but the board is pretty and whoever chose the title did a really good job. That episode was really freaky - exactly the sort of mood you want when you play with a Ouija board.
I've never been into Ouija boards, I've never used one, but this is so pretty! I may just have to have it! :p

Normally I am a Buffy merchandise whore but this is where I draw the line. I am freaky superstitious and I would not so much as have a Ouija board in my county never mind in my home. It gives me the heebeejeebees.
I don't need a ouija board to contact the dead...I live with a ghost. I wonder what he'd do with a ouija board? lol

I think it's funny that we're all so into Buffy, and yet we seem to prefer our conversations with dead people and other exposure to the supernatural to be strictly fictional. lol. Some poor marketing shmuck is gonna be like "Darn! I could have sworn the Buffy crowd would be into Ouija boards!

Haha, that was exactly my thought Palabra (no surprises there)! It's like we're all so into Buffy yet ouija boards make us go 'Argh!'. I'm all for things supernatural but Ouija Boards seem to tempt the (bad side of) fate a bit too much.
I'm always afraid of drawing something in that we didn't ask for.
Maybe I've watched too many films...

It's cool, Looks really good, I personally wouldn't buy it. Just cuz I wouldn't use it.
You just know one of those stupid people that like to lecture on how "Buffy leads to Occult use" is going to have a field day with this!

I wonder if the series Supernatural is going to come out with "Bloody Mary" mirrors. :: vampire

I used Ouija boards for years before I got bored with it. Even had one that I made in high school wood shop back around '70 or so. I'd be tempted to get one of these, except I'd probably never bother with it. Be a great display item, though.

How do they work? Don't you need multiple people to be holding onto the little magnifying glass thingie?
Honestly, I haven't used one since my "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" days. lol. Isn't the premise that the person doing the duping is supposed to move the pointer and spell out a funny message to the dupee? They don't "work" with just one person, do they?

I don't think it would really go with my modern decor!!! haha... not the greatest idea in the world. Why would anyone a.) use it or b.) display it?
My housemates are pretty flexible about Buffy merch around the house, but I think this is where they would draw the line.

To be honest I don't really understand why they are putting the Buffy brand on this, ok I do $$$$, but they were never ever used in the show. It actually kinda annoys me that they have made it Buffy merch.

I agree Keanoite, it's just to make money... Next they're gonna make Buffy's special slayer shoes... No seriously though, reading this thread I now have all these questions... Who'se used a Ouija Board? And do they work, as in can you actually contact the dead? Lol explain.. If anyone had any stories please share!

Heh. We-ell, it moved, anyway. And answered questions. Now, whether it worked or not is up for debate...

Pretty but, nuh uh. No way. Bad family experiences with Ouija Boards taught me never to touch them a LONG time ago.
Plus, if I had it in the house, when the boys come round they'd blatantly think it a laugh to pull it out and use it- and okay, not my house I'm living in, but I am not moving because those idiots have trapped a malevolent spirit in there... yes, it happens!

Honestly? It's only freaky if 1) you let it be, and 2) you're inclined to freak out over next to anything.

That's so stupid because now I'm going to have to order it. Damn. I hate those things. Slap Buffy's name on it and TR now has to have it. I'm over it...*goes to pre-order*
^^ I thought I was the only one!
I had a board when i was younger, I think I took it to every sleepover I went to between 12 and 15. I'm pretty sure it never REALLY worked, but we sure had fun making people admit to things by faking the letters to say stuff. Ok, so now I want the Buffy one just cause it's pretty and it can sit on the shelf with the figurines and books and other paraphernalia that I don't need but MUST have :)

trapping a malevolent spirit in my house doesn't really translate as next to nothing..

Does the board come with instructions?
How to end a session ?
How to stop seeing ghosts in the room ?
What may happen if you keep one in a room?
How to tell if a spirit/ ghost is telling the truth?
And about the board itself,
why is it so small ? Five people using it at once will give you a hard time seeing the letters pointed to.
what is it made of ?
what is the pointer ?
The quickest way to annoy a ghost/spirit is not to have a board that is user friendly.
Oh yeah. Treat it as a game and the fun MIGHT really start, for them.

I finally saw one of these today. I was in Newbry Comics in Boston and there it was. It really didn't look like much of anything but I still didn't like touching it or looking at it even! My friend was like 'Look! "made in China" it has the mystical power of a doily!!'. He has a point but they still give me the heebeejeebees.
It was $30 for anyone who is interested.

Don't really fancy messing around with Ouija boards, have heard some bad things about them. Can't say I really believe what people say about them, but you never know what can happen. Thing is, once you give it a try it and get a connection with a spirit, don't you have to ask the spirit for permission to end the conversation? Then, something like if you don't ask, or you ask and it says "no", then you leave, you're basically in deep hauntyness crap? Yeah, i guess I'm sticking with the horoscopes.
