I'm just doing Season 1 from the beginning and loving it.

It has been absolutely ages since I did this, yay.

I am loving it and actually its better this time around than first:)

All those that say season 1 is dated, I say watch it again.

That's exactly how I am about the first season. People tend to say it's the weakest season or whatever, which could be viewed because of the shortness, but I love it. And each time I go back to it I love it more.

Especially if I've just watched S7 Buffy or S5 Angel...it's really fun to go back to how the characters were originally. I love seeing geeky Willow, bitchy Cordelia, Not-So-Serious Buffy ;), By-the-book Giles. It's all fun. And the episodes are so funky. Plus The Master is a great bad guy we all tend to forget about.

Yes, it's the first season and perhaps before they found their footing but I love it.

What? I can't be retro? ;)

I love season 1 too. It's funny, light-hearted and full of great episodes:)
It's also where it all begun and everything is just so fresh. Everytime I go back to this season, it makes me think about when I was watching it for the first time.
And how fast Buffy became my favourite show:biggrin:

I think its tetsament to the quality of the show that it's first season is still so fresh 12 years on. Bias or not its better than most established shows today.

Season 1 is fun - the Characters are so innocent... It's also like sweet trip to one's own high school years.. Meow.

Season 1 has always been my favourite season, it was such a breath of fresh air the first time around, and like some of you have mentioned, it's almost untouched by time, it seems to exist in this timeless quality more than the other seasons. And how can it be bad, for most of us it was the start of something so darn good it's hard to forget the episodes that introduced us to these amazing characters

I think that a lot of people have trouble with season one because the of the film quality, not the storyline/character quality.

I find myself enjoying season one when I start off the series all over again.

I like season one. It was just so much fun, and the characters were all fantastic. Buffy and Xander were both so funny, Giles was just so stuffy, Willow was a total nerd, and Cordelia was a total bitca. It was also cool how the episodes were more "Freak of the Week" based than the other seasons, which all had big bads.

But I do see why people don't like it as much as the other seasons. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think the series had hit its stride yet, and the film quality has nothing to do with it. It just wasn't as mature as the other seasons. It didn't really have one major plot (I suppose the Master could qualify as the season's focus, but the Scoobies only focused on him for a couple episodes) and it was all just happy fun, even though everyone knows the show's at its best when someone's in pain (mean, but so very true!) In other words, season 1 seemed like a kids' show, unlike the rest of the series.

I love remembering why I fell in love with the show, and S1 is the answer.

That's how it is for me when I watch season one. It totally brings back those memories of first falling in love with the show, and how new and fresh it was.

Well if you are going to do it right, of course you have to start at Season One. I love me my Buffy marathons. Season One did a wonderful job of introducing us to the Scooby's - as well as making us fall in love with them. I really think the work that went into Season One is the reason the show lasted 7 (now 8) seasons, and spawned a spinoff. They did it right boy!

I watched I Robot, You Jane earlier tonight and couldn't stop laughing at Moloch. He's really, really funny. I like a fair chunk of Season One, as lame and daggy as it is. :)

Thats whats great about season 1, the fact it is dated, I love it, its like one cheesey sitcoms from the 80's/90's

Season one is such a testament to how far the cast and the crew have come. I mean sure the lighting was too dark and the lines so totatly nineties but thats what makes it so great. I love going back to watch episodes like The Pack and The Witch, they are so much fun and its what they built off. :cheering:

I am starting rewatching now, and I finished up season one about two weeks ago. I just love "The Puppet Show" (or whatever it's called!)

It totally cracks me up, with Sid the dummy. :)

I love season 1. Its not my favorite season but its still amazing!! I love how well they introduce the characters, even in the first episode you know straight away that Cordy is the b*tch, Xander is the loveable dork and Willow is a geek, plus you have Giles who is so very English lol

The different episodes are really well done, in my opinion. You have a show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer yet you have episodes like The Witch and The Pack that have nothing to do with vampires, plus the episode Nightmares which I thought was great! I could totally relate to Xander's clown fear lol

Its a great set of episodes for a show!!
