View Full Version : Where do S:AtF threads go?

I was wondering this, because I just posted a S:AtF thread. But where exactly should we post them?

I guess one could start campaigning for it to get its own section, but its length (of only 4 or 5 issues) doesn't really legitimise a separate section. Obviously, it could just go here with the rest of the comics... but on the other hand, since the story is closely linked to that of A:AtF, it also makes some sense to post S:AtF threads in the A:AtF forum.

So, where should S:AtF-threads go?

I would say in the Angel:After the Fall section. The way i've heard it, it's the same story, just Spike's part branching out into it's own comic.

I'd say in the Angel section, I would definitely say it shouldn't have it's own forum (Im still not convinced Angel should...)

Agreed the A:AtF forum makes most sense, but ya know this is what I always said was going to turn out to be the problem with a Canon forum for the Angel comics.

More series will be added. It's inevitable, because the first one is successful. What happens as the canon link gets more and more tenuous. Where will the George the Fish comics go?

In PMs, that's all that both the people that will want to discuss it will need ;)

I guess one could argue that since Dark Horse holds the Buffy-licence and IDW holds the Angel licence that IDW spin-off material should go in the Angel section, whereas Dark Horse spin-off material should go in the Buffy section.

It's funny though, ya know. The Buffy Season 8 people don't seem to be having a problem with this. Fray, ToTs, and TotV threads are going to Comics unless specifically connected to S 8.

Thing is that Fray, TotS, and TotV are clearly separate stories, whereas S:AtF is inextricable tied to A:AtF.

Except you were talking about Dark Horse and IDW spinoff material "in general" in your previous post.

That can take you to spin-off's of spin-offs and disconnects from the original source of debatable canon connection in the future.

Fray is a Buffy spin-off. It's not a Buffy Season 8 spin-off though.

If what you mean is IDW spin-offs with a clear, specific connection to A:AtF which one can show to be canon should be put in A:AtF for now, that makes sense I guess.

If you're talking about 2 new forums, one for IDW, one for Dark Horse, I don't know.

I don't know if I even know what I'm talking about any more :p but that's okay, I'm not a policy maker, so it's not up to me to know ;)

Is Fray a Buffy spin-off though? And are TotV and TotS Buffy spin-offs too? I always saw them more as Buffyverse spin-offs. Yes, they are more closely linked to Buffy than Angel, but only by the tiniest bit.

Anyway, the separate forums one for IDW and one for Dark Horse is a bit ridiculous, I agree. If anything I would go for a canon and non-canon forum. The non-canon could be next to the non-canon book section. The big series should still have their own boards (if the "enough usage" rule-of-thumb applies of course). Also, I think Serenity comic discussion is better suited in the Serenity/Firefly board. Anyway, that's just me. Doesn't matter that much where the threads go, I'll find the interesting ones anyway ;)
