XBox Buffy

As most of you know Buffy is soon to appear in a new videogame on Microsofts XBox console, The game will be a UK launch Title (March8/Console Launches 1 week later) and is due for release in the USA on April 14th (One day before my birthday.....hint;)). The game is loosely based around the Events of Season 3 but doesn't really follow the plot lines too much.

Will the game be out on PC or Playstation 2? I assume it will be at some point? I just wanna make sure I am gonna be able to play it or whether I should start saving my invisible money for an XBox ;)

At the moment it is XBox only.......However there is a Playstation (Not PS2) version due at some point although how this will compare remains to be seen.

Having Said that it is released by EA(Electronic Arts) and they do tend to flood the market, with their games normally being available on all/most formats.

I'm sure it will turn up on other formats at some point though but not for a while.

Ahhhh I Pre-Ordered my Xbox with a copy of Buffy a while back on Amazon. So Watch out mr. postie cause come march 14th yer not gonna know what hit ya :)

As for multi-format... It doesn't look promising, the game was due out on all formats including the Dreamcast but Microsoft grabbed the rights... so it looks like it may be and Xbox/PC title only PS2 will have to stick with those fab Final Fantasy Titles while the Xbox nabs Buffy :)

I've got mine preordered too (and the money saved up to purchase said item at the appropriate time :D ) I used a nifty little cheeky trick to get my deposit paid... I went to game where you either pay £25 deposit, or trade in a PS2 game, so I bought a rubishy tenner PS2 game (some ministry of sound thing... I didn't really look), and then handed it straigt back to the guys behind the counter as a deposit and voila, £15 saved and £25 paid off the system. I was very pleased with myself.:p oh yes!

I have been a bit worried about the lack of info on the Buffy game though... the magazines don't seem to be reviewing it (not the ones I have got anyway) I ws starting to worry it wasn't going to be launch title after all.:( Does anyone know any links to a review?

Swwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... lots of Previews but no reviews as of yet I think XBM reviewed it in their first issue but that's about it... I got issue 2 so I have no idea :p ... Give it till Issue 3 of XBM they'll prolly have the whole launch line up in their pages and keep your eyes fixed on 'The Library' as I'll be posting a few Xboxy things over the next week or so.

I ordered my box from Amazon.co.uk.. no deposit needed :D

They've put the release for the title back till April here in the UK, so it's no longer a launch title :(

I feel sorry for people who have preordered an X-Box with the game though, unless they fork out more cash they're not going to have a game to play on it for a month!

Well Amazon still has the release date set for a week earlier than the xbox launch date so I think it may be a bad bad rumour thingy mabob... hopefully we'll see it in the launch range! :)

I haven't heard anything regarding this game getting put back and a couple of phone calls to suppliers confirms that they still have it listed to ship on the original dates.

Well I've got CGV (Computer and Video Games Magazine) and it's got a very good article on the game and it says that it's out April.

OK, I can answer my own question now, so for all you guys desperate for Buffy (the X-box game that is , you will have to wait until April the 26th (according to the March issue of Xbox gamer);) )

Halo looks pretty good, as does DOA3 from what I have seen in the magazines, so that is what I am getting on the launch day... though the Star Wars one also looks quite groovy.

The magazines at the moment have got video footage as the free gift along with the reviews, so it may be worth taking a look at them. I can't comment on sports games 'cos i hate them with a fiery passion.

Well here's hoping I get my xbox in march... bloody amazon I pre ordered mine in January and they said expected delivery was 15th - 18th that was fine for me but then to check on saturday to find it had changed from 15/3 - 26/4/02 I DON'T THINK SO... So I e-mailed them and they fobbed me off telling me not to trust the release date as they are subject to change at any time...

SO I've returned their e-mail and asked them out right if the xbox is released on the 14th will I get mine on the first dates quoted... yet to hear a reply but I am FUMING!!! ::fire:: If that money don't go outta my account in march I'll spend it all and then no Xbox!! :( grrrrr that made me so madish... I'd saved and made sure I got in early n then 24 days to go told delivery date could be launch or a month and a bit later.... :(

Woah...that's terrible.

It's stupid, you go to the main Video Games section at Amazon.co.uk and they're telling you there's so many days to go till it's released...yet they say, they can't ship it until a few weeks later.

To be honest, I think it's a bit of a con, when I was thinking about buying an X-Box, I went to a game store and asked if there was going to be any packages at launch, they said there wouldn't be and that they seriously reccomend that I pre-order it because it's likely to go out of stock. So I go to Virgin Megastore to pre order and they don't have a clue what they are doing...why?...because from the seem of it, they've hardly had any pre-orders there yet the game store said they would run out of stock...to be honest, I really doubt on Launch day there's going to be a lack of consoles or anything, it's stupid.

Well they're not saying they won't deliver, I think it's just a case of CTA (Covering Their Asses) just incase the launch gets delayed, I have informed them that buffy has been delayed and that it may not see launch day.. they seemed peeved that I'd cancelled my order for the game but I did replace it with amped... either way they get my money so piffle to them!!

That is terrible! I'm going to get some games from Amazon as their prices are pretty good, but I am getting my console from a store. My name is 5th on the list, i've paid my deposit, and when the shop opens I will be waiting to recieve my brand new baby.

I'm getting mine from Game... they were really good when I pre-ordered my PS2... They phoned to say they were in the shop the night before and everything, so on past experience I will trust them to get me the X-box (even though there are only 300,000 being released in Europe on launch date... so there will be some disapointed people I fear:( )

Well they fobbed me off again... so I think I shall be going into game tomorrow to see if game have any more pre-order slots left open... just hope they know how many units they're getting in...

As fer 300,000 on launch in europe... that's the number for the Gamecube... Microsoft promised 1.5 million (ISH) on release... they're serious about their console and they don't want people to be left high and dry with £300 in their pocket when they're in a pooter place where they can get a PS2 fer £200 :D
