Amy Acker joins Dollhouse

Hi campers. We're having the read-through of the script today. Why would I be nervous? YOU'RE nervous! Anyhoo, I just couldn't resist letting you know that the recurring roles have actually been cast for some time now. I'm shocked that any part of our casting process hasn't been leaked somehow. And though I'm a fan of secrets, I'll give you the last two pieces of this particular puzzle:

November (who will be recurring but does not appear in the pilot) will be played by the luminous Miracle Laurie.

Dr. Claire Saunders will be played by... yet another name I'm gonna have trouble remembering how to spell... Amy Acker.

All in all, pound for pound, soup to nuts, man vs beast, it's a pretty amazing ensemble. I'm not sure how I landed this troupe, but rest assured I'm gonna write bestest good word for talkacting to them yes! They're in good hands.

I can't believe this! This is the best news since hearing about Dollhouse in the first place!! I LOVE Amy, she's such a sweetheart, and an amazing actress. I can't wait to see what kind of character Dr. Saunders turns out to be!

I can't remember the description for her charcter, but I hope she's bad, Amy does evil cool!

Nobody else had been announced, a bad cast ruins the entire thing, despite the lead's capabilities. Another solid supporting actress and Joss' statement on how excited he is about the cast means that I'm happy.

OH MY GOD. I'm hyperventilating right now, for real. I just told my sister about it (she's also a huge Jossverse fan), and we basically had a squeefest.

Before, I was just somewhat excited for Dollhouse. Now, I'm far too excited for my own good!

I'm trying not to think about Dollhouse too much because I hate hype, makes me not want to watch the show. But then this is a Joss Whedon show and with Amy Acker so it's looking like a slice of fried gold to me.:biggrin:

Oh I know! I recently read that her backstory involves some sort of accident that left her face all scarred and maybe something about that being the reason she's all envious of the Dolls... I might be making that part up... I'll try to find the article. Still think she looks gorgeous though.
