1) I hope this isn't getting old. It's just interesting to me because I'm going through the whole series.
2) I still need to watch "The Yoko Factor", "Primeval", and "Restless", but I'll probably watch them tonight.
3) Also, if anyone wants to, they could put their favorite quotes(s) from the season. (I realize my last idea was a bust...)
Funniest: Beer Bad, Superstar, Living Conditions (in order from most to least funny, although they all add up to close to the same funnyness)
Scariest: Hush (obviously. Also, Fear, Itself would've scared the shit outta me, but they kinda ruined it the scaryness with the Demon)
Favorite: Living Conditions, Beer Bad, Hush, New Moon Rising
Favorite Quote(s): I LOVED on "Where the Wild Things Are" when the old lady was like, "I can smell the sin on all of you!" Then comes a classic Xander one-liner, "Oh yeah, well... She who smelt it delt it!"
Also, on the same epy: Buffy: "Xander! You could knock!"
I also loved the "staking motion" on Hush when the are all at Giles' meeting.

You're last idea was bust-esque because a lot of the favorite stand alones were our favorites over all. If that's what you were referring to :)
Funniest: Beer Bad or Superstar
Scariest: Hush. The Gentlemen. Haunt. My. Nightmares.
Favorite: Who are you? And Fear Itself. I also have a soft spot for Restless.
Favorite Quote(s):
"Buffy: We're checking for Buffy, not a concussion"
"Buffy: Oh and when I could hear thoughts I heard Mom say that you were like
a stevedore during sex, do you want me to continue?
Giles: Actually, I beg you to stop.
Buffy: What's a stevedore?"
"Faith:...you're just sinking a little deeper everyday and no one even sees!
Joyce: Were you planning to slit my throat anytime soon?"
"Giles: I can't believe you served Buffy that beer.
Xander: I didn't know it was evil!
Giles: You knew it was beer!"
I do also love as an extra bit at the end of Restless when Xander becomes totally stuttery and nervous when he sees Joyce after his little dream fantasy. It's his nervous smile combined with her obvious obliviousness to what was going on in his psyche twenty minutes ago that makes it so funny. Poor, poor Xander.

(Obviously, there are just too many of them to quote them here).

You don't like S4!!!!! I absolutely LOVED it! It is now my second favorite season next to S6. To me S1,2,3 don't even compare to S4.

Quotes:
There are so many of them, because this whole season is so funny, but I couldn;t pick them all...
Xander : Can we come rocketing back to the part about me and my new syphilis?
Anya : It'll make you blind and insane, but it won't kill you. The smallpox will.
Buffy : A bear!
Spike : You made a bear!
Buffy : I didn't mean to.
Spike : Undo it! Undo it!
Spike: “ I say we go out there and kick a little demon ass! What, can’t go without your Buffy, is that it? To chicken? Let’s find her! She is the Chosen One after all. Come on! Vampires! Grrr! Nasty! Let’s annihilate them. For justice - and for - the safety of puppies – and Christmas, right? Let’s fight that evil! Let’s kill something!"

I can understand if you'd said you personally don't like season 4 onwards as there are a few people who prefer to remain in the High School seasons, but to say it's uninspired garbage? It has no backing, no evidence to the statement. And I'm sure hundreds of others on here would argue against such a comment.
Just because you personally do not like anything from the series out of the high school years does not mean it is uninspired garbage. Remember you are posting on a board dedicated to that exact 'garbage'.
And no strong baddies? The Initiative (which when you really think about it is VERY creepy)/Adam, Glory, Dark Willow, The First, how can they not be strong Big Bads?
And how did the characters cease to be funny after season 3? I had laugh out loud moments constantly even in the darkest hours. The show never lost that pathos.
And all the best actors went to Angel? Not to sound Jenny Calendarish but ha! That's a laugh. On Buffy there remained Alyson Hanngian- a fantastic veteran actress, Amber Benson, Tony Head, James Marsters. And note, I'm being totally unbiased here when I say when it comes to fantastic acting how can you forget Kristine Sutherland's perfomance in Listening to Fear when Joyce is in the stages of tumor-induced dementia?
The acting quality was fantastic on Buffy. Both shows were always equal in their actors' fabulous talents.
I wouldn't mind if you had stated that personally season 4 onwards of Buffy doesn't reach or interest you and that you prefer Angel. But you have just stated, as though it is fact, that the show everyone on here is celebrating essentially was trash after the end of season 3, which is just not true. You also insulted the acting talents of those I feel don't deserve it. If you're going to make such a statement, at least try and back it up with evidence.

Of course my statement was my opinion, I do feel it is garbage. The big bads are boring. What is with the geek trio that is such a joke How am I to take this seriously. The intiivatvie oh how orgininal. Personally I dont think The Buffy actors in season 4 5 6 7 are any good. But hey its probally just me.

Alright, so you're saying the 4 out of 7 seasons of the show that this whole website is all about suck? HA!! Apparently, you haven't watched the Buffy episodes I have!
4 5 6 7 were horid no strong baddies
No strong baddies? So... Now you're saying that Caleb wasn't as good as The Master? :lmao: (no hard feelings toward S1 and The Master) But seriously how were Adam, Glory, The Trio, Dark Willow, and Caleb not strong baddies?
characters werent as funny
So NOW you're saying that NONE of Xander's one-liners were funny? I actually find myself loling (literally) on some parts.

Personally I dont think The Buffy actors in season 4 5 6 7 are any good
What have you got to base this on? What evidence can you use to point out 'Look, they can't act'. Perfect examples of great acting are:
-Alyson Hannigan in The Body
-Alyson Hannigan as Dark Willow
-Michelle Trachtenberg in general, but particularly The Body
-Tony Head in general, but particularly in the set of season 6 finales
-James Marsters in Seeing Red
-Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Buffybot. You would never mistake that character for Buffy just by the way she stands and moves and smiles, not just the lines.
-Nick Brendon in Grave
-And I've already mentioned Kristine in Listening to Fear.
Can you honestly say that those are not good examples of fantastic acting ability? I mean, are you sure you're not just getting preference of character with presentation of characters confused? That can make you accidentally biased you know.
What is with the geek trio that is such a joke How am I to take this seriously
There were SUPPOSED to be a joke! That was the whole point of them for three reasons. They needed something that was a lot lighter and less threatening than Glory of the previous year. They needed them for comedy to break up the darkness of season 6. And they were a mislead. The Trio weren't the Big Bad; they were a means to an end. The real Big Bad was Willow, triggered by The Trios actions. Of course we weren't meant to go 'Argh, The Trio they have a Freeze Ray!'. We were meant to laugh at them and mock them. It gave us relief from everything else going on in the series that was so dark and deep it threatened to just completely depress us.
And like The Ferg said, you obviously haven't been watching the same episodes I have! Haha

My favourite seasons are 2 and 3 as well, but I would never call the other seasons garbage by any stretch of the imagination. I would never call any Buffy season garbage, that's so harsh.
I don't really see how one can claim all the best actors went over to Ats. IMO if Btvs had relied on Charisma and David to lead the show, although they're great, it wouldn't have done nearly as well. SMG, AH, NB, AST... all in the first three seasons as well, or did you forget?
I think the show did loose some of it's consistent quality along the way, but the seasons after it were still great. How can episodes like 'The Gift' 'Hush' 'Restless' 'Once More With Feeling' 'Fool For Love' 'Who Are You' or 'The Body' be called garbage? And that's just to name a few. There's amazing episodes in the later seasons as well.

I don't think that's really the point right now. (Maybe it's just me but) I just want to find out WHY you don't like S4-S7. Because from what you've said, you haven't given any real reasons why you hate those seasons. I mean to me it just seems like you're just blindly saying this without even giving a thought about the eps in those seasons...

"Dumb?" How could you possibly think season 6 was less intelligent than season 1? I'm sorry, but season 1 was utter garbage compared to the later seasons.
The big bads are boring. What is with the geek trio that is such a joke How am I to take this seriously. The intiivatvie oh how orgininal.
The Trio was intended to be a joke. The real big bad in season 6 was dealing with life itself...Buffy's depression, Willow's addiction, etc. The Trio mainly served as relief from all of season 6's heavy issues. And I didn't like the Initiative myself, but they were certainly original.
I dont think The Buffy actors in season 4 5 6 7 are any good.
...I'm sorry, but were we watching the same show? I know, it's just an opinion, but the acting in seasons 4-7 immensely surpassed the acting in seasons 1-3. Honestly, there's no comparison between the acting in season 1 and season 6.
the best actors and actresses went to angel.
I disagree 100%. David and Charisma were both pretty mediocre actors, especially compared to the likes of SMG, Alyson Hannigan, Tony Head, and James Marsters (I know, James went over to Angel, too, but not until Buffy ended.) In my honest opinion, the only truly outstanding actor that left Buffy when Angel started was Alexis Denisof.
I understand that you didn't like seasons 4-7, but instead of just saying that, you're making ridiculous arguments that the acting was bad, the big bads were weak, and that the seasons were "horrid."
ANYWAY, back on topic...
Funniest: Something Blue, Pangs, Restless (Snyder's Apocalypse Now impression and Willow's dream version of Death of a Salesman were both priceless!)
Scariest: Hush
Favorite: Restless

You didn't annoy me in the sense of your opinion annoyed me. Just when statements are made, I like evidence to back them up, especially when it's blanket statements such as 'garbage', you get me?
I like explanations behind blunt opinions, because then I can consider and accept them even if I don't agree at all. But just saying it is like....going to an Original Star Trek convention and cursing William Shatner's name, you know? Haha.

I thought there were some great episodes in Season 4, despite some episodes that I thought quite the opposite of and struggled to get through.
Anyway, without further ado...
Funniest: Well I felt to sorry for Willow in this episode for it to be the funniest, so I guess Superstar has to be the one.
Scariest: Definitely Hush, the first time I saw it I was absolutely terrified! Mostly because of The Gentleman... but possibly because I really like talking!
Favourite: Restless. Could watch it over and over.
I also have to add that I do genuinely enjoy watching Living Conditions, not sure why... probably has something to do with some of the housemates I've had!

Funniest: Living Conditions (I thought it was hilarious how buffy would get so mad at Kathy) Beer Bad, Something Blue, Pangs, A New Man and Superstar
Scariest: Hush
Favorite: Restless, Hush, The Harsh Light of Day, Something Blue, and Wild At Heart (I always liked Oz and Willow as a couple :-( )
Overall I think season 4 is one of the best seasons.. I cant really say I dislike any episodes of this season :-)

Ok, I still would've been annoyed even if you did back up your opinion, but it would've helped if you did back it up... :) (Great Star Trek analogy Joyce!)

Funniest: Pangs, Something Blue, Spike's "new outfit" in Doomed, A New Man
Scariest: Hush
Favorite: Hush
And one of my favorite quotes of the season(and of the series): "I hate to break it to you, oh impotent one, but you’re not the Big Bad anymore, you’re not even the kind of naughty.", Xander to Spike in Doomed
Overall, Season 4 was never really one of my faves. But it's been a few years, and I'm re-watching the entire series from start to finish. I commented already on another thread that I may have been a bit harsh on Season 4 in the past, as I seem to be enjoying it more this time around, which is funny, since this recent review of the series makes probably the 50th time I've watched some of those eps. :)

Funniest: Pangs
Scariest: Hush (surprise)
Favorite: Unlike most people, I LOVE season 4. I am aware of its many faults but I don't judge too hard because I see it as a transitional season, something more light-hearted before all the darkness of season 5 and 6 (which I adore even more) sets in. I appreciate season 4 for its humor and wonderful character interaction. Having said all that, I can't really pick a favorite because there are so many good episodes...maybe the four-pack: the Initiative, Pangs, Something Blue, Hush.

Favorite:Harsh light, Initiative, who are you, yoko, primeval and restless.
I know ive put loads but s4 is up there with s2 as my favorite seasons.
Every episode is great apart from where the wild things are.
Along with s2 its the only season to have four 10/10 episodes.
Spike, anya, Harmony, Initiative.... its just such a fantastic season.

For me 1 2 3 are the only good buffy seasons. Gets dumb after that.
"gets dumb after that".... ROTFLMAO!!! Now THAT was funny. Esp the rant about *no good villians* - heh! I mean... wow... (Ok, in all fairness, I know you apologized since this post, but still... it DID make me laugh...)
You see, for me, seasons 4-7 were the better seasons. Season one was weak. 13 eppys & a sophomore Buffy. "Wah. I have to slay, I just want to be a normal girl, but I can't keep my manicure fresh, wah."
S-2 was good, having Buffy fight her lover? - genius! Pure genius!
S-3 was great, another slayer in the mix, and a germophobic mayor-snake... BTW, that "snake" was one of the lamest lames that ever lamed. :lmao:
S-4 was FABULOUS! - that's right! get *big brother* involved... nothing is ever complete without a wicked secret government agency ;)
S-5 no demon, but A HELL GOD! - oh yeah, Buffy has to fight someone who is WAY stronger, & just as pretty. Poor thing.
S-6 ....fighting against her best friend... this smacks of S-2 when she had to fight her lover - both were someone she loved/cared for. Again, pure genius in what turned innocent Willow into a death-whore.
S-7 the wanna-be slayer brigade. And CALEB. Man I sure do love me a freaky preacher. :teeth:
But - truly! -if it "gets dumb" after S-3, then we have to conclude that the entire series is dumb. I mean... a girl... named BUFFY... who slays VAMPIRES. Get real! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
BUT TO ANSWER THE QUESTION....
funniest... Beer Bad (seriously - most people do act rather cavemanish when they're drinking...)
scariest - HUSH, of course
Favorite - can't remember the title, but the Thanksgiving eppy. Loved the arrows stuck in Spike, & the comment after the first arrow "Hey! watch the heart!" :D

The absolute best in Season 4 is "This Years Girl" and "Who Are You"
Faith is such a great character.

The funniest would have to be Something Blue. Spike and Buffy were hillarious and Xander and Giles' reactions to the couple were comical!! It was a nice light hearted episode. The tension is right there till the end with the viewers thinking something bad is going to happen to Willow and then even that turns out to be an amusing scene were she gets the demons card lol
The scariest has be Hush. The Gentlemen are very scary!! Adding to the fact that you can't even scream for help just seems to add to how scary they are. I always relate the scene were one of the Gentlemen float past Giles' window with the scene from from Killed By Death in season 2 when that demon moves past Buffy's door in the hospital. There both very freaky!!
My favorite has to be This Years Girl and Who Am I. I loved that Faith was back and the insight at the end of Who Am I into how much Faith hates herself was surprising. I never saw that coming.
