For me, it has to be "The Body." It gets me every time.

I voted "The Gift." Many of the eps. listed were big tearjerkers for me, but "The Gift" is the only one that gets me choked up Every. Single. Time. No matter what. Buffy's determination to protect her sister against all logic, Spike's oath to protect her no matter what. And of course, Buffy realizing she needs to die to save Dawn. The gang's reaction to seeing her body . . . maybe it's just the music that goes with it (which is some of the best scoring in the whole series IMO), but at the end when the shot pushes in on Buffy's headstone and it says "She saved the world. A lot." Always, always, *always* makes me sob.

I voted 'The Prom', but it's not the only one. If multiple choice was possible, it would have been 'The Prom', 'The Body' and 'The Gift' as these are the three episodes that really get to me the most. TB and TG because of major sadness, TP because of happiness. I just always cry when Buffy is handed the Class Protector Award.

The Gift imo has the saddest moment in all the series..as mentioned above the headstone, the music and the rest of the scene just break someones heart...close second is Chosen when Spike dies but lost its value when Spike came back...the first time I saw it and I didn't know that he would come back a was REALLY shocked and sad though..

this was really hard for me. i picked the gift, because that reduces me to all out bawling (im so stupid!) but so does chosen when Spike dies and when Andrew says what he does to Xander about Anya.
The Prom gets me welled up though for sure, each adn everytime as well. And the Body just makes me feel numb, as i lost my mom in February of last year, and so now when i watch it, it gets to me on a far deeper level and brings up a ton of emotions that i can't even cry. i just feel...overwhelmed and nothing at the same time.

I voted Grave, but The Gift and Becoming Part II make me cry pretty hard as well.

The Body. The whole thing just hits too close to home for me and so I can't watch it without letting out choking sobs.
But I get teared up for Innocence and Grave too, but to a more controlled, and dignified extent.
As for happy tears, the Class Protector scene in The Prom has me welling up like the emotional wreck I've always been but tried to hide. And That Scene in Family!! It makes me all warm and fuzzy watching that and I smile so broadly when you see Tara's tear stained smile at Buffy's words. Total Tara hug time. And I love the way they all just dismiss the MaClays. Nicely done and warm teariness all round. Hehe.

I actually cried on every single one of these (except for the last three... haven't seen 'em yet...), but I think the one I cried the most on was The Prom. Jsut because somthing truly happy happened. No one died this time.

Didn't vote as I'm absolutely unable to decide between "Becoming" and "Grave"... I mean, you'd probably expect me to go for "Grave" for the Willow factor alone, but "Becoming" is just awesome - even though I never was and never will be a Bangelist, part 2 is on a par with Shakespeare IMO.
The songs at the end, in either ep, get me every time.

I voted for the Gift because it always makes me a bit misty. The one that i always cry in is Selfless, when Anya flashes back to OMWF and sings her song. I find it so sad and poignant.

I voted "The Gift" because it was the only one that got tears from me on the first viewing. "Becoming Part 2" was a very close second but I was with friends the first time I saw it and couldnt possibly cry infront of them haha. "The Body" gets sadder everytime I see it. I also tear up in "The Prom" too.
But the one ep that makes me cry every time is on Angel "I wil remember you" I get teary when I even think of it! Im a sook when it comes to Bangel :p

Well I voted for The Body because not only does it make me cry, but ever since I watched it with my ex (who had lost his father) I really think about what it means for someone to lose a parent.
The Prom was the first episode to get me incredibly teary though. I'm not a bangel fan, but that scene! Amazing! And Buffy getting recognised. Finally. Good, good wholesome tears!
Family got me teary the first time I watched it. I love the scoobys more then ever in that episode!
The Gift and Chosen are also always going to bring a tear to my eye. I must be the only person that LOVED and took seriously the cheese factor when all the potentials are made slayers and willow becomes a 'goddess'. Every time I bawl.

Crying might be a bit to much but teary I get a lot of times. Even if a lot scenes makes me sad/going into happy tears-mode this is the ones that effects me the most.
For mer personally the worst time in Buffy is Seeing red. God, I loved Tara. But the first time around I was just chocked. And as a Tarafan I of course love the scen in Family. The body is just an awful episode. It makes me feel sick (empty inside), not wanting to cry. Exellent work.
The ending of The Prom makes my emotions go wild and I must admit that the tears are near.

Wow, just wow. I just finally watched The Body, literally like a minute ago, (I've seen bits and pieces of it before) and... it was breath-taking. If I could take back my vote, it would go to The Body. I truly felt like I lost someone special in my life. Although I cried through almost literally the whole episode, when Buffy said: "They said not to touch the body!" I literally broke down. I just couldn't hold it in...

Many of episodes on the list make me all teary but I had to give my vote to The Body. I'm crying everytime I see it. Everything is shown in such realistic way that it gets me more than any other ep. Reactions of Scoobys, how they can't understand what happened..And Dawn's line at the end: "Where did she go?" The body was the saddest Buffy episode ever.
Next would be The Gift when Buffy sacrifices herself to save her sister. In that episode is other scene that really moves me. It's conversation between Buffy and Giles. When she says that she can't understand the world if she has to make such a choices. And how she wants her mum to be here.
Other big tear-jerkers are Grave(Xander saving Wilow and the world) and Chosen.
The moments that bring happy tears are of course Buffy getting un umbrella in "The prom" and when everyone's defending Tara in "Family". I so love that scenes!

I think I shed a tear in most, if not all, of the ones listed. But the biggest tear-jerker for me has always been "Becoming, pt. 2". I can put this ep(or Angel's "I Will Remember You") on if I ever need a good cry.

The Body
Hell's Bells
Selfless
In that order, my top 3. There were many others.

The Body. No question. I think it is one of the best (if not the best) episodes. I wanna show my mom, but her mom died last year and I'm not sure she could handle it.
I'm not a big cryer, but Hell's Bells got me a little teary. Having walked down the aisle myself, I think my tears were tears of relief that the same thing didn't happen to me. :-) Entropy got me, too... but they were happy tears. "Can you just be kissing me now?" Awww. Sweetness.

The Body for sure. That was one of the most powerful episodes of the whole series. It really captures that flood of emotion a person feels upon loosing a loved one. It was so sad the first time I watched, I don't think I've watched it since, but it definitely still stands out.
The Gift was a tear jerker too. The way Buffy sacrificed herself for Dawn.

The Body I think gets my top vote, though close behind are The Gift and Helpless. I chose The Body over The Gift mostly because, though The Gift's final scene may have made me cry more, all of The Body was devastating. Plus, it was just so well made, it was a bit mind-blowing. It was perhaps the only thing ever to make me to enthused, and yet so bored, simultaneously.

Ouch... definite ties going on here...
The Body, of course
Wild at Heart
The Killer in Me
New Moon Rising
......hmmmmm, they all contain Willow crying... hence, Willow cries = Buffanator cries. :(
Oh, and Hell's Bells. Man, I wanted to bite Xander's ass! :bite-cha:

Chosen didn't get me at the time. I think I was just too much on the edge of my seat, you know? But in hindsight... it was all pretty worthy of getting choked up. I mean, think about it: the core four meeting in the hall for the last time; Willow experiencing pure, light-driven power instead of dark power; all the slayers being called; Buffy passing the scythe (and the symbolic trust therein) to Faith; Anya and Spike dying for the greater good; Xander searching for Anya; everyone fighting Hell's hoards so darn bravely, many of them even with mortal (or potentially fatal) wounds and against all odds; and so much more. That last battle was awesome. If you stop to consider how far they've all come, well, every moment of that final battle is a tear jerker.

Since I'm a guy --- not happening on the tears. Nopenopenopenopenope.
That macho man facade said upfront... the entire episode "The Body" does give me allergies.
I have small reactions on the allergy meter for some other select episode scenes as well.

^ That's exactly how I think Chosen will be for me when I finally decide to watch it for the second time. Yes, I've only seen it once, and, as with you, I was too overwhelmed to let everything sink in - the deaths, the sacrifices - so I didn't cry. I know I will on second watch, so I've been putting it off for months now. Heh.
The biggest tearjerkers for me are the Body and the Gift, the difference being that I cry quietly when I'm watching the former, but the latter is a real tear-fest; hiccups, runny nose, the works. It's not a pretty sight.

I was crying when I saw Chosen for the first time. Anya's death, Spike's death, Amanda's death(she was my favourite potential) everybody being ready to give up their life for saving the world... Finally Sunnydale was destroyed, all the places we knew stopped to exist: people's houses, the Bronze- nothing left, just a big hole.
And this was the end of the series. I got really teary so I'm getting everytime I see this. I just can't help it!

Definitely a moment. Love that scene to death.
For overall episode though, I have to go with Becoming Pt. 2.

for me, the tear jerker is "prom." dont get me wrong, a lot of the other epis have very sad moments, but the prom has the best "happy" tear jerker as jonathan reads his 'class protector' speech and then gives buffy the umbrella.

I voted for "The Gift" because that's the one that gets me sniffly every time I watch it. Others will get me misty depending on how I'm feeling at the time, though.

The Pack.
PRINCIPAL FLUTTI! AND THE PIG! D: D: D:
I got a little misty in The Gift and The Body, but The Pack just had me sobbing.
i CANNOT believe that I am the only person to vote for Prophecy Girl, she's 16, she doesn't want to die! she drowns! he can't save her cause he has no breath! i am way too attached to this episode
close second would be Innocence/Becoming II/The Prom (huh, all B/A, who knew) then The Body

Chosen.
Seeing Spike die and the scene with Buffy he had was just torture.
Also, Anya dying. Really got to me when Xander asked Andrew about her in the end.

there are many many good tear jerkers, but i have to go with the body, that episode is so sad. and so real, with no music, and the character reactions to joyce's death. i cannot watch that ep without crying, everytime i think im doing good here comes anyas speech about how she doesnt understand why she cant just get back in her body. after that i loose it.

Mine are The Body,Seeing Red,Passion,And the grave scene in Help.
Hard to say.
But I guess I would also go for either The Body or The Gift.
Willow changing clothes, Anyas speach and Xanders fist in the wall is my favorite part. (not sure favorite is the right word)
And of course, in The Gift, seeing the gang gathering around Buffy at the end...
But there is plenty more...
Prophecy Girl - I'm sixteen years old. I don't wanna die.
Becoming, Part 2 - Close your eyes.

I voted for Grave but most of these eps made me cry. The Body was a real tear jerker and The Prom too with that Jonathan speech and all that sensation that everyone in school was thankfull to Buffy. But Grave was different i guess. Willow and Xander are best friends since way before Buffy showed up and they have been through a lot from stealing barbies at five years old and breaking yellow crayons to ending the world. I think no one else but Xander could have stopped Willow and that was a really teary moment for me.
Plus, that Sarah Mclachlan song helped a lot lol

Wow, this is tough.
I voted for The Body, for obvious reasons. The whole scene at Willow's gets me choked up every time.
Closely followed by The Gift, Grave (the end, oh boy), Becoming I & II, and I'm surprised no one voted for Hell's Bells. Didn't have me crying, but oh, it made my heart break for Anya.
I guess Buffy inspires a lot of tears, heh.
