correct me if im wrong here but doesn't the whole story of sahjahn and holtz make no sense. If he is a time travelling demon and he knows that angel will have a child with darla that will grow up and kill him why does he go to the trouble of bringing holtz to the present day. He could awaken holtz a few years earlier and he could kill him in 96 when angel is in new york scrabbling around for rats.

from sahjahn's point of view it seems stupid

Yeah, i know what you mean. Why wait until Angels at his peak, and Darlas just about to have the baby.
Maybe Sahjahn is stupid!
Im trying to think of any reason why he didnt do it earlier, but i cant. It is a big plot hole.
Pity too because the Holtz story is one of my favorites in the Buffyverse. Probably my favorite Angel storyline.

Looking for 100% logic are we? Well good luck with that. Buffy/Angel are full of "mistakes" in that way. It can be "fun" to find as many as you possible can though, and to see if anyone can expalin it. This one of course is a big one, who I choose to ignore since I love Holtz. How much fun/entertaining would tv-series/films be if everything was logic?

Dont think this deep in plot holes or you'll end up not likeing the show to many loop holes in shows just get used to them.

I think it might have been to betray Holtz. He couldn't kill them when they were still together and strong, so that limits everything down a little. Then, the curse hit Angelus and he was now pretty weak and didn't know what to do, how to live, he was kinda abject. Maybe that's why Holtz shouldn't kill him in a time like that because he might've not done it out of pity or something. Another issue could've been getting Darla and Angel together. If we look at it that way, we have the short period in Buffy s1, and then again from s2 of Angel on. Well in Bs1 Buffy was around, so it wasn't a given that Holtz could've killed Angel, maybe the slayer would've killed him (Holtz) instead if things went wrong.
Well, then s2 came and first Darla was human, so Holtz probably wouldn't have killed her there. Shortly after she was resired she disappeared so if Hotz had to kill them together, here it stops again. So that brings us to Angel s3, where it actually happened.
