The minor characters in Buffy and Angel were so well written and memorable that many stayed on longer than they were meant to.
Which of the minor characters did you want to see more of?

Good question Bluebird.
I don't know. Maybe Clem. He was so friendly and funny.

I'd say Clem. Clem was such a delight to watch - a demon with a 'skin condition' and a heart of gold. Aw. He had some very funny moments too. I would have liked to see where he came from and if he had always been the way he is. I would have loved some more Clem/Spike interaction too. It always struck me as quite telling that he was Spike's friend; for a demon (or a person for that matter), Clem is as sweet as they come, and it is him who Spike hangs out with.
Edit:
I can't believe that we all said Clem! I had seriously only seen Bluebird's post when I started typing my answer!

youse guys are funny! I liked Clem, but not enough to want to see more of him. Sorry! *ducks and covers*
I actually really liked Mr. Trick and wish we saw more of him. He was funny and suave. And of course, Cassie Newton.
and ALWAYS some more Miss Kittie Fantastico haha its a shame the way she... *sniff*

I never really considered any of the Season 1 thru 7 characters on "Buffy" as minor except maybe the Potentials or Willy the bar tender (now, THERE would be a team up to have with Lorne. They could do a "Casablanca" style bar...). Gwen and Nina from "Angel" might make an interesting team.

Who exactly qualifies as minor character? Everyone who wasn't in the titles? If so, definitely Darla and Lilah, as they are among my favourite characters on Angel. I just love them both so much. I think what I love about them is how they're on the one hand really female, sexy and everything, but on the other total evil bitcas. They were always entertaining to watch, and somehow they always managed to wrap one of our beloved AI guys around their finger and kind of influence everything he does. Just amazing!
And if we're talking a little bit more minor, I'd say more of the Chinese, non-English speaking potential slayer :D

Clem and Gwen are a given for me. But of the potentials I liked Vi a lot and I would have loved to see more of her. Hmm, I wonder if that can be interpreted the wrong way...

I liked Kendra, and ethen Rayne should have had a few more episodes.
Mr Trick was great too, would have been good if he came back a few more time.
also Drusilla. Lorne should have more screen time too

By minor do you mean everyone who didn't appear in the main credits? In which case, despite the Seeing Red Trick, it would include Tara who was in quite a lot considering. And also Joyce, who like Tara was in it quite a lot- Joyce being the only character outside of the core four to appear in all seven seasons. So for those two, they were techincally minor characters under that description, but there's no point saying I wish to have seen more of them, because they were both in it a considerable amount.
Or do you mean minor as in only appeared in several episodes? So that would exclude those two mentioned above, but would include Jenny, Darla, Drusilla, Clem....
In which case, under THAT description, I felt Darla, Drusilla and Clem played just the right amount of their part in Buffy, but Jenny was kinda untapped Potential. That's not to say, I wish she had survived past Passion (Though it was incredibly tragic to have her go) but leading up to that episode I wish we had seen more of her. We only really got glimpses of her relationship with Giles and it would have been really nice to see much more of them together. Also, she was more an outside Scooby and beyond I Robot...You Jane, we never really see her actively helping and I would have liked to have seen her getting more involved in the Scooby action. Maybe some scrying, some Willow-esque computer mumbo-jumbo, maybe even stake one vampire, or helping Giles from getting knocked out or something. She just had a lot of potential I believe that went untapped.

Thats so funny; we all picked Clem. :D
Personally I consider Darla and Dru to be more like major character. They are two of the main four vamps. I totally forgot about Willy the bartender though. He was funny.

I'm a Clem fan as well! He was awesome. And Gwen too, I feel like her last episode didn't really give her character closure. I also liked the detective, Kate I think, from the beginning of Angel, but she wasn't in all the episodes, so she's rather minor.

Definitely Gwen, as she's both eye-candy and has a fascinating character concept.
Can anyone tell me without spoilering (so a simple yes/no would suffice, thx ^^ ) tell me whether she's even going to appear again in Angel S5 (I'm up to "Legacy" atm)?

Drusilla!!!
I loooved Dru and I was terribly upset that she never came back after Angel burnt her up and Spike got her with the cattle prod thingie. We needed more Dru!
I mean, for one, I wanna see how she reacts to Darla's death and to Connor. Then, I wanna see how she reacts to Spike's soul. Dru is the last surviving member of the fanged four (she hasn't re-died or been sent to Hell or re-ensouled or anything). She's the last of the house of Aurelius. Surely we can think of something neat for her to do. I'd love for her to come back as a big bad with a pretty darn legitimate axe to grind against Buffy and her boys.

I'd definitely vote more of Miss Kitty Fantastico right off the bat (;)), I really wish they had kept her around! Although on the flip side, she could turn into a demon cat and that would be a little to cheesey for my tastes!
In all serious though, Willy the bar tender for sure I wouldn't have minded seeing pop up every now and again. I'd also really like to have seen more of Whistler in the series. Although I realise his purpose was to get Angel on his "proper path", I always found it wierd that he didn't pop up again. Really think that they could have done a lot with his character sometime during either Btvs or Ats. Even having him appear once or twice more (perhaps on a series finale or during a final season?); would have definitely enjoyed that.
Other than that, the only other character that REALLY came to mind was "Anne". I was glad that we got to see more of her on Ats, but I really would have liked for her to becoming a much more regular character. Always thought that she had a really cool story behind her, and that with her having that ordeal with Buffy all those years back, there were stories just waiting to happen. Think out of everyone, I was most dissapointed that she never came out as a regular.
Would have liked to been able to see a lot more of Illyria's growth, but alas, the show ended. Not sure if she would count :silly: And same with having either Darla or Connor guest star on Btvs. Oh, the possibilities! :D
Or Parker on Ats, that could have been relatively amusing...

I'd like to see more of Larry. I think that he should appear more than just in those few episodes. He was fun and I liked how he changed from bully to nice, easy-going guy. I think Joss should have kept him at least for season4. He would be good addition to college year.

I guess they dropped the hammer... um, giant snake tail, on Larry the moment they chose for Willow and not Xander to be the gay regular. Probably thought there could be too much "gayness" in the show... and if they thought this way, I'd rather keep Tara and lose Larry, even though it would definitely have been interesting to keep him around longer - and they showed later on with Andrew that another (probably) gay semi-regular could fit in.
Well, at least Larry got mentioned once more later on, when Amy got de-rat-ified in S6. That was a nice touch, and another great line from Willow (I'm not quoting as I only know the German synch anyway).

It seemed to me like they just disapered we saw kate tell angel she didn't invite him in to her place.
And we saw Gwen and Gunn.....Together
Then we never saw them again.

Larry and Xander were hillarious together. I hated that they killed him off.
Gwen was another cool character. She reminded me a lot of Rogue from the X-Men. She could have been a great addition to the show. I hated that they messed up her character/storyline. That whole kiss with Angel while they were fitting was so unpredictable that it made no sense at all!!
