Right Angel has Helped the Helpless saved the girl and killed the bad monster ! In this Episode Buffy orders Andrew to take controll of the rogue slayer situation and we find out she and her scoobies no longer trust Angel because he is working for w&h! Do you think Buffy should have turned her back on Angel ?
Plus Andrew is amazin in the episode !!!!

There seems to be a lot tension between the two camps. I wonder how it play out in the comics also.
Plus Andrew is fantastic as usual.

I think it makes sense, especially now with the comics revealling that Buffy is a wanted terrorist - she can't be too careful about who she trusts and Wolfram and Hart would not be at the top of the 'trustworthy companies' list. They don't know why Angel is there, just that he is there; he is untrustworthy by association so, i think, completely understandable that Buffy and Co. don't trust him.
Yes Andrew is excellent in this episode - "You're like... you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever.
Ohh... he's alive, Frodo.... He's alive."

I'm baffled and stupified.

If i was Angel i would have been so pissed of at Buffy, maybe even so much that i wouldnt talk to her ever again until she apologized.
Typical Buffy though 'im the boss, what i say goes, i want it my way, moan moan moan'

Frankly, I always thought that it was Giles, rather than Buffy who "didn't trust" Angel and his crew. I base that on the fact that later in "Shells," I believe, it was him, not Buffy, who refused to even contact Willow when Fred was being taken over by Illyria's spirit. It's the sort of thing Giles would do because he "wants better" for Buffy than a vampire, ANY vampire, soul or no soul. What better way to keep them separate than to have Angel and Spike think that the Slayers no longer considered them on the side of "the good guys." (And I fully believe that Andrew told Giles about Spike being back just as quickly as he could.) Quite likely, Buffy and her crew never knew anything about Dana or anything that happened in "Damaged."

That does make sense. Maybe Angel should call Buffy, just to see what happening. Even Giles is annoying Buffy these days with his not telling her stuff(like faith) big issues too that Buffs going to want to know about. tut tut Giles.

I think it fit in with the who theme of the season. I think it just helped build the story line of W&H and I think it helped that tug and pull between the gang as to whether what they were doing was the right thing or not.

Maybe he did try to call her and just couldn't reach her. Remember, Angel believed that Buffy was in Rome, not somewhere in the Scottish Highlands. I'm sure that Giles would not be his first choice to call, considering the bad feelings that exist between the two. Angel might very well be the "enemy" Giles had in mind when he set the bogus Buffy up in Rome in the first place.`

now that you all say, Giles he is known for distracting people when something else is going on! In "lies my parents told me" trying to get spike killed (how dare he ) i really wanted to smack Giles with a giant book ,Plus i like the wee song from that and the flash backs disturbing but fanastical x
" Early one morning i heard a maid singing from the valley bellow! oh don't decieve me please never leave me ! oh how can u treat a poor maid this way "
Buffy has kinda kicked Giles fatherly hand aside recently because of Faith.

It's a point I never considered, about Giles. But thinking back over the entire series, right or wrong, it wouldn't be the first time Giles has used misdirection to focus someone in another direction, while taking care of what he considers a problem. When Andrew made that statement, I took it pretty much at face value. Deep down, Buffy may still trust Angel, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of the other Scoobies and new Slayers didn't.

Don't want to open a new thread for this...
As you may have noticed, I only know the German dubbed TV version of either show, and "Damage" first aired yesterday night over here... so I'd like to know, how does Andrew pronounce "vampire" in the original version? In dubbing, he pronounces it English within the German dialogue (which makes the scene sound rather silly... not Andrew-silly, just silly-silly). I can't help but think there must be more to this in the original?

Andrew pronounces "vampire" in the way that I believe is the Old English (?) version of the word "Vampyre." It comes out as something like "Vahm pire" with emphasis on the second syllable, and the first syllable rhyming with "Tom."
(If that's not correct, somebody feel free to correct me)

Instead of saying Vahm-pyre (as in, funeral pyre) he says Vohm-peer. Which, now I think about it is actually quite similar to Kendra's pronunciation! He is trying to sound all wise and learned by using the (as Avenger said) Old Englush Vampyre....but it doesn't quite work.
I actually prefer to think of it as Xander being the one who told them not to trust Angel, especially in light of Season 8. He was the one with the most contact with the Slayers, and he would probably have dispatched them. Seems in his character, after all. Although, Giles did seem to be speaking in No Future For You as if he had dealt with rogue Slayers before.

Thank you for the info. :)
Actually, if he does say "vahm-PEER", this is the same as the pronunciation of the German word "Vampir"... so no wonder they just "inverted" it in dubbing, making him pronounce it English (even though it doesn't make much sense that way, lol).

Yeah, I can understand why they did that then. You're still getting the same effect of Andrew sounding like an idiot, just without the motivation behind it I suppose. Which is a bit of a shame. Does Angel pronouce it Vahm-pyre or Vohm-peer when he's speaking to Spike?

Yeah, it makes him sound like a cool'n'stylish-poser idiot instead of a wannabe-educated idiot... and unfortunately, this effect then clashes with his fake-distinguished outfit. (The pipe, including the to be expected coughing... priceless. :) )

In dubbing? He pronounces it the same way Andrew does, "VAM-pyre" (regular English), then corrects himself to "vahm-PEER" (regular German).
So at least they didn't ruin his involuntary slip into "Andrew talk". They ruin so much else in dubbing. :sigh:

LOL Where have you been? W&H are infamous for evil master plans. Angel is trying to change things...(maybe selling out in the process?)
