so i just finished reading the last of the first night mini series. comic 8 was good with the best story being gunns first night story.
Dispite how fun it was to read on everyones first night i am happy that we are going to get back on track with the main story in comic 9
But like i said over all i was pleased with the story. the only part i didnt like was the civilian story which was ok at best.
Gwen's Story was nice because it slightly explains how she got her powers back. I kinda just wish it would be longer. i guess thats the problem fitting 3 stories into one comic lol
Well on a whole i was very pleased and satisfied with how comic 8 went, it kind left us on a cool note. I going to do a video review of this comic and put it up this sunday .
What do you guys think?

The First Night arc was fun but I'm glad we're getting back to the main storyline next issue.
AtF is my favorite comic right now. I just can't get enough.
I'm really happy we got AtF, but it's kind of bittersweet since the comic is wrapping soon (around issue #15/December) rather than continuing on like Buffy. I know Lynch said they may do another story later down the road if they had a really good idea for a story, and that he's planning on "taking a six month nap after AtF," but I really just wish they'd turn AtF into Season 6 and keep it going a while longer.

Who turned Gunn??? anyone?
just some random vamp who was the leader of a vamp group. the vamp got dusted by gunn once gunn realized he was turned.

Ok, I really hope there are going somewhere with the 5 page "Civilians" story in the future; otherwise it was a complete waste of space.
And the artwork on it... what were they thinking?
It looks a bit like someone developing a mild case of Parkinson's disease while simultaneously trying to imitate Sienkiewicz.

I liked the issue but, like others, i'm glad they are going back to the real story next issue (in two weeks time, or so i heard - is this right?) That being said - i am looking forward to Spike: Aften the Fall, cos, well, its Spike...
Loved Gwen's story. I like how she was already thinking of Angel and Gunn even before she discovered she was electro-girl again. Very nice.
Loved Gunn's story - total denial that he is a vamp, totally feels betrayed by Angel. And he's important to the whole situation for some reason - maybe he knows something that he doesn't know he knows....
And i'm so relieved that neither Spike or Angel sired him - i didn't think they would but its nice to have it confirmed.
ooooh i forgot to mention that I LOVE how Angel got the dragon to their side then used it's fire to toast all the W&H demons. Simple and effective.

I thought it was kind of a let down Angel or Spike didn't sire him. I knew Angel couldn't have because he was teleported out of the battle and was wondering where Gunn was then remembered seeing him being dragged off. So I wanted Spike to have sired him. I thought it would be far more interesting that way.

Cool issue... but it leaves me with a few questions:
-Is Vic the name of the vamp-leader?
-What makes Gunn so special?
-Does anyone else think Nate looks like Nathan Fillion?
-Does "Vic" remind anyone else of rat-eating-Angel from Orpheus?
I liked how the titles on the cinema's display were all films featuring cast-members.

Questions are a good thing.
I'm really enjoying what they're doing with Gunn. His storyline in AtF is arguably the most interesting stuff ever done with his character.

i have to agree 100%, i think gunn had such untapped potential in the angel tv show and once the comics came out i think they knew they had to do something out there with him, you know to mix it up.

I haven't read it yet, but in the preview, i did see two people who looked like Caleb and Angelus...

ike i said over all i liked this issue and i think it has some of the deeper stories than in the other issues. I just posted up my youtube review of the comic so check that out if you wish.
Like Exitmat said its bitter sweet that we get to read these comics because they are only 12-15 issues. with all the effort and building up they have been doing i was hoping for alot more issues

This was a fairly weak issue, Gunn aside. His story shined, even though not given the par quality, and I enjoyed the civilian(s), but Gwen was the biggest let down yet. It should have been thought bubble dialogue- her actually saying it makes her whole story look like a shitty soap opera, where people talk to themselves after somebody leaves the room.
Thank the Powers that we get back to the story next book.
