For arguments sake, let's say they make a tv or movie spin-off of Fray - who should play Fray?

I would personally go with an unknown or virtually unknown to play Fray (it worked for everyone else on Buffy besides Oz!) But if we had to choose who should it be?

I think it'd be interesting to have Eliza play Faith, I see some similarities physically and personality-wise. It would also make an interesting connection between Faith and Fray (possibly a descendant) and the fact that it's been mentioned somewhere (I forgot where I saw it, possibly a writer's interview or something) that Buffy might not be the final Slayer mentioned in the Fray series.

In the Fray series it says the last Slayer died in a big final battle, and it's been said that it ties with the end of magic etc. and possibly ties in with the current Season 8 series - but I've read somewhere that it may not necassarily be Buffy they're talking about in the final battle of magic. I could be wrong though.

Either way, in the tradition of my extra long posts to make short points, who should play Fray? Doesn't have to be a pre-existing Buffyverse actress like Eliza, that's just the only choice that comes to my mind.

I think that Kristin Kreug (? The girl who plays Lana Lang on "Smallville,") would make a great Fray. She's beautiful, a talented actress, and has training in martial arts and gymnastics. Plus, she has an exotic, almost Oriental look that might suggest centuries of interracial breeding (is that politically correct? If not, please accept my apologies. No offense intended.)

For attitude alone I would say Sandra Oh (Christina Yang in Grey's).

I personally Natalie Portman would be a good Fray. I just think she has an odd look to her that makes her exoticly beautiful. Here is a picture I played around with to make it look Fray-ish.

It is not very good but you get the picture.

I canīt really see anyone from Buffyverse playing Fray, but it has nothing to do with if they are great for the role or not. I shouldnīt know. I havenīt read Fray yet (and still waiting for the new Buffy comic). It just feels wrong.

Iīm a big fan of NP so I guess Iīm with DDD at the moment. But maybe that changes then I finally read it. But the best thing would of course be if they found someone unknown whoīd be perferct.

Well, Fray's look was based off of Natalie Portman (or so it said in the back of the book), so obviously she'd be a candidate. ;)
But I like the Eliza idea, too! The only problem is, there aren't many blue-eyed brunettes in Hollywood who can actually act; they're usually just sex symbols. You know, the Megan Fox type.

Well it isnīt very difficult to change both the colour of the eyes or hair if one wanted to.

Ah... nobody's coming to mind. Milla Jovovich? She could handle the action and do the quirky stuff... I can't quite picture Natalie Portman as Fray, but maybe later after I've finished reading it all.

Usually when this subject comes up somebody says Summer Glau. What Happened? Now she's a terminator we don't see her leaping around any more?

Oh wait...I just solved the mystery... It's me who usually says Summer Glau. I hadn't posted yet. :)

Best suggestion yet imo. But if they actually made a Fray movie, I wish the acress would be someone I hadn't actually seen in too many things before, preferably none..
And even though Eliza or Summer might do a great job, I couldn't see either of them as Fray..

I think Summer's too little to play Fray. Isn't Fray close to 6 feet tall? At least, that's how it seemed to me. She looked about 5'9'' or so. Summer's teeny.

I can't think of anyone, either. They'd probably have to go for a European actor or a completely new person.

I think Milla's in her early 30s. And ultra-hot. It's like she keeps heaping on layers of hotness with every passing year. But I digress. (she's hot.)

I'm still drawing a blank, especially when trying to come up with very young actors who could play an action role, pull off those classic comic moments, deliver the depth, breathe life into the story, and all that good stuff. Nobody I can think of in that 20-ish age group in Hollywood fits that bill.

So, yeah.
