Hey everyone! I've been looking through a few topics here, and I love all of the stuff people are producing in Photoshop. I know I can't compete (yet! :hehe:), but I thought I'd post some of my artistic creations! I'm sure I'll improve some after I practice at Photoshop; my sig is only the third banner that I have made.

Anyway, back to the thing that I had originally intended to post. My walpaper of the minute, a little Larla tribute:

It's made from a sketch I did of the pair. I was just playing around in Photoshop with it to see what I could do to it, but I liked it more than I thought I would. Here's the original sketch btw:

I just realised something: Scanning in greyscale does not a pretty picture make. I was wondering why my scans looked really hard and sharp....

Anyway, inspiration struck me, and I thought, since you're no good at photoshop yet, why not just draw a banner. It actually worked quite well, and I went for a Dark Willow theme.

I like both of them, but I think you're right that the touched up version looks more banner-y.

That was a freakishly quick response! If I'd spent more time on the original drawing I probably could have made it look more "banner-y" but I knew I had photoshop to hide the blemishes! Does anyone know where I can procure some discipline?

New banner time. I don't know where the inspiration came from, cause it's completely not my usual theme! Not that i really have a usuall theme yet, but still. This must be my fourth one now. Unless you count the Willow one, but I don't.

Five by Five agrees: The screenshots were really dull, so I ramped up the saturation more than I thought would be possible. Lilah looks ill in the original! And.....I'm waaaaaiiiiiting. Why?

That was one of those "Heeeeyy. . . ." things at the fact that you used Angel's slogan for W&H. :) It was supposed to be funny. *slinks off*

The Darla one bugs me so much now. I can see all the little problems I had with it, and the way I scanned it doesn't help... OCD, much? =) The last one was just my signature (my sig is actually a slightly improved version actuallly). I've been working on a drawing of Lindsey recently. I just love those tattoos he gets in season 5. The concept and design were great. I'll maybe post it if I get happy with it.

I found an old box of crayons today. I don't know why people keep giving them to children then wonder why all the drawings that they do are rubbish....it's cause they're freakin' hard to use! Anyway, there was about 4 shades of blue in the box, so I just had to draw Illyria!

I then decided to draw Willow, but there were so many reds that I ended up doing her vampy self. Ended up looking a bit too much like Amy...but hey.

Haha yeah crayons can be troublesome. But hey, my five-year-old nephew's drawings've got arms sticking out of people's heads, and twelve fingers on each hand. And I used to give everyone a bellybutton in my drawings, whether or not they were clothed. So your inner five-year-old should be proud be proud of your crayon ceations, because not only are they anatomically correct, they're good!

I updated my Alyson piece by shading it a little, then I decided to add a little colour in Photoshop. It was only meant to be a little experiment, but it turned out quite well! And the rough, broadness of the strokes was intentional. Partly because I liked the effect, partly becuase I wanted a quick sketchy effect, and partly cause I'm using a laptop with a trackpad! Mostly the first two though. Honest.

So here's what it was meant to look like. I know I said I liked the rough sketchy look, but that was a little extreme. It was only the base colours after all. For a first attempt at colouring this was a fun little learning excercise! Oh, and please enlarge it. The thumbnail isn't exactly flattering.

Oh, and thanks about the banner. Inspiration struck me earlier on! There was a dodgy period of ten mins or so when my sig was in a state of flux, with appearing and dissapearing bulls, crests, and a growing and shrinking banner! I'm sure no one noticed though....

One more thing, cause I know you're all so interested: I remembered how to misspell centre!

Again, I don't have much to update with Buffywise, although I did get a new scanner today. I'll be a little more inclined to draw Buffy stuff now to share with my adoring legion of fans. All three of them. Wait...no....two.... XD

Anyway, I thought I should upload the original drawing of Illyria that I submitted for the Newsletter (which, if you haven't checked out yet, is awesome) (the newsletter, I mean, not my submission) (although, my submission is pretty awesome too, simply cause it has the words "Drogyn Pride" on it :silly:).

This morning I was playing about with some funny caps, intending to just experiment with textures and the like in photoshop, but it turned into a much more serious piece. It's the first wallpaperey thing I've done in Photoshop, and I think it turned out well, so I decided to put it up here. Such a long time..... I hate actually having a life. It totally gets in the way of everything.

Anyway. Update time! Lets see what I've done recently....

Right. First, a little sketch I did whilst talking to.....someone? Bluebird? Was it Bluebird? I think it was Bluebird. Well, anyway, I was chatting away with them one night, and for reasons that seemed immensely clear at the time, I drew Dark Willow. I had intended to colour it (hence the blankness of the eyes), but I never really got around to it...

Next, a weird cross between AtS and David Bowie. This just happened all spontaneous like. I was drawing the picture, and suddenly, I realised that I was drawing Human Darla, so I adapted it to fit!

I didn't want to overcomplicate it, so it's extremely clean and simple, but I like it that way. I like the style a lot. And I agree with DDD´s comment in the rate the sig thread. But as Pernille some pics look a little blurry to me. Hopefully it´s just me (and her) though. Maybe a scandinavian thing. :(

Note: I like the W&H stuff. They looked sort of like advertisements for the firm, which I thought was a cool concept. The images *were* a little blurry, but if you were having trouble with that, you could add a TV-screen-like filter so that the slight blurriness would fit the theme. That would fix it right up. I did that with my "Initiative" banner, and I really liked the outcome.

I made a new Restless wallpaper, which I quite like. Me being entirely selfish, it's only in 1280x800, but, hey - that's life.
This has got to be one of the first times I've actually used Buffy in a piece. It's those evil lawyers. They keep dragging me back to AtS...
