white avenger

Is anyone here familiar with an old comic from the 60's called "Magnus, Robot Fighter"? I hadn't thought of it in ages until a couple of days ago, but as I remember it, there are definite similarities to Fray.
Magnus was located in the future in North Am city, a conglomerate city that covered the entire North American continent. He was chosen through some obscure method and trained by the ancient robot, A-1 to defend all humans against evil robots, using what is described as "steel smashing strength." At the lower levels and the surface of the continent was a sort of twilight zone area inhabited by people, mostly criminals and rejects of society called (I think) something like "the dregs."
I don't remember a whole lot more about it than that right now, but I just thought that I'd ask if anyone else was familiar with the story.
