Worst season?

I'm going through season 6 and decided this my 2nd least favourite season. I only like one or two episodes, and some are really bad:

Double Meat Palace.
Wrecked
Smashed
As You Were
Dead Things

Thank goodness for the trio, they provided some comedy relief during this rather dark season.

It would have to be Double Meat Palace. I watched this last night and was determined not to skip any. I'm never eating burgers again.

I liked this season. Not as good as the first 5, but still good. I actually liked the massivly unpopular Smashed, wrecked and Gone.
I loved the Buffy/Spike story. Loved the Trio. As always, the characters were still interesting.
But there aint that many top class episodes on the same level as ones like Innocence, Who are you or Fool for Love.
And the seasons run in, Villains, two to go and Grave, was probably the weakest Btvs end to a season, with the worst ever 'Big Bad' Dark Willow(such a crappy villain, evil vamp willow wouldve been 10 times better)

I remember feeling a bit overdosed with depression when I watch season 6 for the first time.
But I did see it all in like 2 days...

Now when I watch it with some more breaks it works better.
I also remember being suprised that it wasn't quite so depressing as I thought it was when I saw it the second time.

Also, this season starts of very good ithink, the firt 8 eps are mainly all good.

It is such a harsh season, and as with Season 4 it's such a watershed period for the characters. They all have so much going on.... and a lot of it is as individuals. So that makes it harder to come across in the season as a whole I think!

Some utterly brill episodes in the bunch but some very low lows too!

Wrecked, Smashed, & Dead Things are actually 3 of my fav eppys. In fact, SMASHED is one of my ALL TIME FAV EPPY in all the Buffy series! But Double Meat Palace was... ok, well, stupid. That old lady was the "big bad"??? Puh-leeze! :rolleyes:

But the really AWESOMENESS of Season Six....? ONCE MORE WITH FEELING! - Oh, I just got a tingle. :D

I loved almost all of this season. I kind of hated "Hell's Bells"--for the love of St. Pete, can't ANYONE ever be happy? There could still have been conflict if they'd been married!--but the rest of the season was good, I thought.

every time i watch it i think they'll get married, i hope so much.. its nice that we got a taste of their married life in xanders vision of the future (loved the clem daughter)

I love S6, it's by far my fave of the post-highschool seasons! (Even though I admit, DMP was a bit of a stinker ep...)

EDIT: With the possible exception of S1, you bet I agree to that! I loved the HS setting, S2 had the best Big Bad, ever (way back in the times when Bangel wasn't ruined yet to me ;) ), and S3 had the highest density of great eps of any season!

I love Season 6! I'm not saying that Buffy and the gang haven't faced huge problems in the past, but I loved how this season made the drastic transition into more real-world adult problems. I very much enjoyed the early seasons, too, but I love how this season's storytelling, for the most part, made the switch from metaphorical to literal - with the obvious exception of Willow's magic use(but that was a given, since an actual drug addict in the group would've been forced and out of character). The metaphoric storytelling of the early seasons was great, but I really thought that the storytelling and writing evolved really well, along with the show as a whole and the characters themselves.

The 'high-school years' still holds my vote, but like InsaneMystic - season 6 is my fave post-HS season!

Season Six is one of my top favorite seasons of the entire series. It was a dark, complex and fascinating look at how the characters were forced to start on the road to maturity and adulthood. Even Spike.
