The link didnīt help?
"It's a full day of watching some of the best of the best episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", meeting and laughing with other fans, and having a great time while simultaneously raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. You are not required to attend the entire event. Stay for the day or stop by for your favorite episodes.
Now, you may ask "How can watching 'Buffy' and 'Angel' raise money? If that were the case I'd already be rich. Hooray!"
We're able to raise money because people who attend the marathon get family, co-workers, friends, and others to "sponsor" them - just like with a walk-a-thon, or other fundraising events of that type. Add the auction proceeds to the sponsor dollars and we can make a substantial donation to Make-A-Wish."
Edit:
Ok, since it seems Iīm the only one who sees it, here it is www.slayathon.org
See it now?
Just my luck. Now itīs changed. But thereīs a link at the bottom of the sig in the first post. Click on that, or use the adress I posted. Itīs the same thing.

I read on Whendonesque that Fox said no Buffy episodes this year so it is an All-Angel-Slay-a-thon this year.

Why would they do that? It's for charity! I thought they were wanting to prove how much they've changed. I bet it's cause of their new online channel showing Buffy...

Because they are a hideous multi-national corporation....?
From the slay-a-thon web site:
Because of Fox's ongoing copyright litigation surrounding "Buffy," they cannot grant us permission to show episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" at the 2008 Slay-A-Thon. However, they can allow us to show "Angel" episodes.
We are "revamping" our 2008 event and will show "Angel" exclusively this year. While we are disappointed, we appreciate Fox's willingness to compromise and continue their support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

oh its in the sig... wow i really am blind
Thanks for the linkage, and just when i feel like i might not hate Fox, again with the ridiculousness - it's Make a Wish for goodness sakes! How can you not want to help little kids with cancer and other horrible things?

What a bummer! I wish that I wasn't already obligated to go up to the Upper Peninsula for a convention. It's right in my area, too. Well, that doesn't mean I can't donate... but still! I'm super sad that this overlaps! Grrr!

I wish they had things like this here...
Maybe i could have one on my own and get people to sponser me and then take the money to a charity shop... at least that way i could watch Buffy! (not that angel aint good enough by the way... just making a point!).
I cannot beleive the whole Buffy thing! I mean... its for charity... its not like its being shown to criminals in prison or anything is it???? I really get fed up of these big corporations sometimes... i mean, all that money and stuff and they wont allow something like this. It makes me mad!!! *turns big and green and his clothes tear off*
Well regardless... everyone who attends i hope you all have a great time with Angel and raise loads of money! Good Luck!

I hope you'll take the time to read about an upcoming Make-A-Wish fundraiser and decide to donate. I need your help and your money!
The Slay-A-Thon team (Kelly Creamer & Jennifer Cohen) is hosting our 6th annual "Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel" viewing marathon on August 23, 2008. Participants get sponsorship the same way tax-deductible donations are pledged for walk-a-thons, bike-a-thons, or any-other-thing-you-can-think-of-a-thons. Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We'll also have a great day with 100+ fun people all in one room with a huge TV.
In the past 5 years, the Slay-A-Thon benefits have raised over $55,000. These funds let us "adopt" 11 amazing kids and grant 11 amazing wishes! The Wish Kids and their families got a break from doctors, hospitals, and everyday life... they had experiences they could only have wished for! Read about our kids here…
Bottom line, what am I asking you to do? Donate by August 22! Here’s how…
1. You can go to the Slay-A-Thon slayathon.org web site and donate via PayPal
PS: Please forward this message to as many people as you can! You don’t have to attend to help and more money equals more wishes!
