Since in Fray's day, the "lurks" seem to be making a comeback, and it's safe to assume that the other demons won't be far behind, are we to assume that future New York will be a, or THE, whichever, hellmouth of that time?

Hard to tell.
I've gotten the impression that Hellmouths are something pre-existing and not mystical in movement.
Harth does seem bent on opening one. Are we positive that Haddyn really is New York City?
Could it not simply be a corruption of the word Cleveland ala popular post-apocalyptic fiction?
No, it's definitely New York. In the recent alternate covers for 'Time of Your Life' the Chrysler Building can be seen in the background. I'm assuming Buffy and Fray are actually in Haddyn, since I haven't read the latest issue, I don't know.

Of course, in 200 years, with expected population expansion, Haddyn might cover a vastly larger area than it does today, sort of like "Magnus, Robot Fighter's" North Am City.

Chech "Spoilers For Issue # 16"
Yeah, I saw it on the cover for #19.
Ah well. Haddyn doesn't make much sense for NYC.
But, I don't write for them.
