Who is the toughest human?

Theres been some humans in the Buffyverse that appear to be as affective as the pro's when it comes to fighting vampires.
I think from what we've seen its gotta be Charles Gunn.

He got all gun-happy, remember? He even managed to kill Skip. There's no way Xander could stand up to him.

Anyway, I was going to vote for Gunn, but went with Giles when I saw that he had no votes. I mean, sure, he got knocked out almost every episode, but at other times, he was a total badass. And you've gotta give him points for his Ripper days.

Y'all know before i say it... i voted for Xander... and i dont see it as who could take who. He's been through a lot and not had remotely and training or super powers, but had to watch everyone else be super or like Riley was military..... but he's always been there, keeping the proverbial family together.

I vote Xander.
Mainly because while watching S5 I noticed that the poor guy takes multiple blows with the magic troll hammer and he's "fine". No hospital, no coma, nothin'.
Since the troll hammer was supposed to be this uber powerful thing and the only way Buffy can possibly hurt Glory (in fact, it seems to have just as much, if not more, of an impact as the wrecking ball), I think that makes Xander like Superman!

And there was the eye poking out, the letting Spike do his laundry and live with him before anyone knew he wasn't going to gather a hoard of minions and kill him in his sleep.......

And there was the group of zombie guys he defeated and the bomb that no one even knew about! Not to mention the riot of angry women (eeks).

Giles. hands down, despite the foggertry. get him mad and look out...confuse him and make him think he's young and look out times two. That episode, band candy, you see how fast Reverto-Rupert drew that gun on Ethan and had it trained at his cerebelum...instant death, no twitchy? The guy has been playing paddycake with the forces of darkness since his Dad introduced him to his soon to become destiny. His equal parts passion and intelligence.

Giles rules the rest, IMHO, by the Larry Hama standard (a guy who wrote for the Wolverine books). PURE STRENGTH O' MEAN. He gets it done and he gets my vote.

I voted for the pair-having Wes.. he has all those cool Bondish gadgets, like the sword that ejects.. once he got the premature ejectualtion problem under control, and his sword didnt pop out at inopportune times, he did seem like a different character.

the way i see it gunn and wood are awesome fighters they really are wich does make them tough! xander is one of the toughest not many people could deal with the like of what happened to xander particually when his eye got gorged out!and he was tough enough to stop dark willow with the strength of his love but for me you don't want to mess with giles...... ok now that might sound silly but hear me out first i'll say one word "RIPPER" .ok we never saw much of ripper at all we saw him in band candy and now and then there were the odd moments when you saw ripper wanting to come out of giles e.g. like when he threatened synder over allowing buffy back into sunndale high. all though we never got to see any where near as much ripper as we should have, i would not like to take any of these people on (well except wes when he first turned up in buffy but by the end of angel he could kick some a**) but my point is who i would least like to take on and that would be giles **cough** RIPPER **cough**. he to took punishment over the years and lets not forget what dark willow did to him in a one on one fight (i no i said xander stood up to willow with the strength of his love but in a fight he would have been a gonner she was to foccused on destroying the world to excecute xander 1st(and part of me says she didnt kill him there and then cus willow inside her wouldnt let it happen) any way i voted giles for his ripper side at least any way thats who i think is toughest

Don't forget Lindsay. He was human, a pretty good fighter and swordsmen. Also he's pretty good with the mojo. Not a bad all rounder.

Gunn, closely followed by Wood and Riley. Well, as good as others like Giles and Wesley might have been with the research mode, these are real fighters, mostly even trained, so not a surprise they can kick some serious ass.

I have to go for Riley, cause he's had the best training. Gunn and Wood are close tied second. Xander's looking pretty buff in Season 8, so I guess he beats Wesley. Since Wesley's much younger than Giles, I think he'd beat Giles.

As much as I love Xander & Giles, and as much as I HATE Riley with a fiery passion....I voted Riley. He's pretty tough....but I still don't like him any better!!!

I voted for Robin Wood, he seemed to be quite capable of slaying 'regular' vampires on his own.. plus with years of training from his mother's Watcher. I didn't really follow through with Angel the series, so I don't know about Gunn.

i voted giles because he's got it all--age/experience, wisdom, training in a lot of different weapons by watchers and with buffy, training by watchers and council in bookish things, and he also has black and white magic going for him. he seems the most well-rounded of the choices.

Giles' role is always underrated. I mean, people tend to forget he is RIPPER! Giles may be dry and dull, in his tweedness, but if it's needed, he can be quite the fighter.

Only person Gunn beat up was Fred.. Wes held back in their little fist-to-cuffs that they had. I cant see Gunn besting Mr. Windham Price.

No, Wes wasn't that tough, but he was a bad ass, I would take a bad ass over a tough guy in a fight anyday. Xander is tough but he is not a badass, same for Gunn.
