Return Of Oz

Just a random thought that I had. What if Oz had returned this season, maybe for the final 4 or 5 episodes? Maybe he could have found some sort of scroll in the temple of some of his Tibetan priest buddies that somehow pertinent to the situation in Sunnydale, or maybe he was just passing by and decided to stop in and see his old friends, and got all entangled in what was going on.

Do you think that he would have added to, or detracted from, the storyline?

Added, duh. It is Oz. Everything he does adds to the Story! Down with Tara! He could have pushed aside Kennedy and reclaimed her girl Willow! Who were always destined to be together... Eeek I digress, sorries.

Added! definetly, I love seth green and would have loved to have seen him return for just one episode at least, seeing as though we hadn't seen him since New Moon Rising (Restless doesn't really count). It would have been great to find out what was up with him, and that whole finds some kinda scroll thing might have been interesting yeah. As for actually getting back together with Willow that would have been awsome! If she cant have Tara she should be with Oz, but as she put it "Hello gay now!". He was a big part of the show for a while and since season 7 was kinda a greatest hits year a little guest spot would have been fun.

Well, his presence could definitely have led to some "interesting" moments with Kennedy, especially if she found out about his history with Willow. I was thinking more along the lines of the battle, though.

Kennedy woulda let him have Willow! I know she woulda she loved Willow so much that she woulda wanted her to be happy :p On the fighting note, If he can control the wolf.. and became a wolf he could have helped take on the uber vamps.. bite off there heads, turning them to dust?

I've often wondered about the way that lycanthropy works in the Buffyverse. It seems to be a more popular concept everywhere else, at least lately, that the person is more or less in control of their wolf, and are able to pretty much determine when their transformations take place. Maybe Oz never could because he was alone and never had any sore of senior werewolf as a mentor to take him through the changes and control the wolf, at least to some extent.

Maybe all Oz ever needed was a "daddy wolf" to show him how the whole thing was supposed to work, sort of like the Watchers helped the Potentials work through their changes when they were actually called.

Its funny this comes up because Joss just opened up about Seth Green being contracted to the show but he said he was leaving which opened up the door for Willow and Tara.
I love Oz and would have loved to see him return for one of the final fights but I love the direction Joss took Willows relationship.

I for one would have LOVED to have him come in for the last 6 episodes to help out. It wouldn't have seemed contrived, I think they would have been able to write him in and include him easily. He would have done his Oz thing, re-charmed Willow, leaving Kennedy in the dust... I mean imagine how much better the line, "You are a goddess," would have been coming from Oz?! It would have been beautiful :)

I am a total fan of the rainbow parade and most certainly applaude Willows life style choice but I have to agree. Oz in that situation would have been wonderful!

I think Oz's presence could only ever add to the storyline. He just brings something out of Willow that I love. I can just hear his deadpan comments now, for some reason I think he and Andrew would have had hilarious scenes together.

I totally agree about the Oz and Andrew thing.

I love Oz...it's very very difficult for me to choose between him and Tara, I think they were both such wonderful characters, and so good for Willow. It seems right that he should have been there. They brought Faith back, and I think Oz was as important to the show (and the fans) as Faith was. With all the Potentials, it would have been nice for one familiar face to come back.
