Here's a little something, figured I would take a little break from The Cleveland triolgy. It's not much , but please read and review. I'll have more later. Yay! Two hundred posts!:

A very alternate “Chosen”

Author’s note: Alright, this is just me having fun with continuity. This is the Buffy series Finale “Chosen” if a few things happened differently in the history of both series. Some things are the same, some things are different. If things don’t make sense, just relax, I’m just having fun

Buffy and Angel embrace each other over the dead body of Caleb, the evil priest who was seemingly a pawn to the first. They stop and look at each other, he looks at her with a happy grin. “Heard your about to go into battle with The First?” Angel asks.

“That’s about right, so what brings you here?” Buffy asks.

“This,” Angel holds up a medallion, swinging it in front of her. “It should help you in your battle.”

“What’s it do?” She asks.

“Not sure about that really.” Angel begins. “Details were very sketchy, but as far as I can tell, it’s for a champion. Someone with a soul, but a little more than human.”

“So it’s for me?”

“No, it’s for the slayer’s champion, now I’m more than human and I have a soul.”

“But your not my champion, you chose Cordy over me, remember?”

“That’s only because I thought you were happy with Riley, but then you had that affair with that doctor.”

“Ben, well, that was before I knew what he really was.” Buffy explains.

“A hell god who tried to sacrifice your sister.” Angel is upset even bringing it up.

“Yeah,” Buffy looks very grave. “Too bad Giles beat her to the punch.” Tears begin to pour out over the loss of her sister who wasn’t really her sister in the first place. “I had to watch my sister die and kill my watcher all in the same day. And then the next year….”

“Willow?”

“Yeah, you missed out on a lot since you went away.” Buffy informs him.

“I guess I have.” Angel begins. “But I had to go, our relationship just wasn’t meant to be.”

“But yours and Cordy’s is?” Buffy is now upset that Angel has even come down to see her.

“Yes, it is, we have a kid now. I’m happy now, can’t you be happy for me?”

“No, I can’t” She begins. “It was always supposed to be me and you, not you and Cordy, not me and Riley, not me and Ben. Do you know how alone I feel without you?”

“I’m sorry, but in this reality, it’s not meant to be me and you.” Angel pauses. “So, who is your champion?”

“I don’t know, maybe Tara, perhaps Oz, both are a little more than human. Or I could give it to one of the potentials, Faith seems like a potential who could handle the power.”

“Who’s Faith?” Angel asks very confused.

“One of the girls, she seems to enjoy the job too much though.” Buffy explains.

“And I take it Kendra has come back to help with this big battle coming up?” Angel asks.

“Yep, she always has a weird way of appearing when the apocalypse is approaching.” Buffy watches as Angel begins to leave the crypt. She grips onto the scythe even tighter.

He hands her the amulet and grasps her hands while doing so, although he has found happiness with someone else, the passion between the two will never leave. “Well, I better leave you to your battle, good luck. And you will always be in my heart.” She says nothing as he kisses her on the cheek and begins to walk away.

Suddenly, the feelings all come back to her, she knows what she must do. “No, Angel wait!” She runs up to him holding the amulet up to him. He stands there as she puts it around his neck and gives a half smile. “You will always be my champion.”

Angel grins. “I thought so. Now we got a war to fight.”

“Can you bring in reinforcements?” Buffy asks.

“I’ll give a call to L.A and get everyone I can to come down.” He holds the amulet closer to his chest.

The two begin to walk off to war as Buffy looks at him. “So how did you find that amulet?”

“Heard you were in trouble from a lawyer friend of mine, I beat the medallion out of him.” The doors open as the two walk out with prepared faces.

Angel and Buffy slowly make their way up the porch of the Summers, Angel is kind of nervous of meeting up with new and old members of what has always been known as the slay squad. They giggle and flirt a little bit, until Angel senses a figure behind them. The figure leaps out from behind the Summer’s car in the parking lot, Angel catches him and starts slugging him back and forth. The bleach blonde figure smashes a bottle over Angel’s head. “You are still hanging around Spike?”

Angel shoves Spike to the car by the neck. Spike just laughs at him. “Yep, I’ve been hanging outside Buffy’s house for what? Two years now, love?” He looks at the beautiful Buffy Summers.

“Yeah,” Buffy confirms to Angel. “ Spike fell in love with me a couple of years back, he has never stopped trying to get down my pants. Now he just smokes and drinks and whines outside of my house. He’s not a harm anymore. He’s got a chip in his head.”

“Why don’t you just stake him.” Angel asks looking back at Buffy.

“I feel sorry for him actually, plus he helped me when I face Glory, so I give him mercy.”

“But I’m still the big bad.” Spike smiles at that.

“Yeah, sure you are.” Angel let’s the grasp go of Spike. “I guess your not even worth it anymore are you? The First hasn’t even tried to use you as his pawn, you should just dust yourself.”

Spike looks at Angel’s amulet. “What’s that thing supposed to be?”

Buffy looks at the vamp who has been pinning for her for what seems like forever. “He’s my champion when we go into the hellmouth.”

“Oh, bollocks” Spike sighs. “You two are back off in passion land aren’t you?”

Buffy looks back at him with pity on him. “Spike, get out of town, your just going to get yourself dusted if you stay in town.”

“Bloody hell, Buffy.” Spike yells at her as they ignore him walking to the porch. “I’m still William The Bloody, I can still kill demons.”

Buffy walks in and Angel follows. “No, your not William The Bloody, the vampire you once were. Your just silly old Willie.” Another voice says behind him, it’s Angel again, not really, it’s Angelus. But it isn’t Angelus either, it’s someone who has never talked to him before, it’s The First. “But you can be the man you once were. You can be the creature of dead again.”

“Really?” Spike asks. “And why should I help you, mate?”

“Because what else do you have? Buffy chose her champion and it’s not you, she doesn’t even let you into her house. She just calls on you to do her bidding whenever she needs a vampire.” Angelus/The First begins.

“No deal.” Spike tries to fight the urge to help him, he has becomes loves bitch over the last couple of years. “I’m one of the good guys now.”

The First changes guise once more, this time he is Giles. “I seriously doubt that, Spike. You just have a chip in your head, your not good. Your not bad, your just pathetic now. Can’t you see that William?”

“Of course I can, but what can you offer me in return?” Spike lights up a smoke.

The First switches to ADAM. “I can take that chip out of your brain, Hostile 17.”

“It’s not the first time I heard that line, mate.” Spike blows smoke at The First.

“But this time I mean it, once I’m in control, I can give you anything you desire.” ADAM/THE FIRST promises.

“Yeah, everything but what I really want.”

The First then switches to The Mayor. “ Well, no I can’t, but what is the fun in it for me if you could? There’s none.” The Mayor smiles. “Now, here’s what I propose, I need an X-factor in this war, of course I have the bringers, but that’s not enough. And I also have the Turok Han, but they are mindless monsters. What I really need is a….” The First changes form into Dawn. “Champion, if you get my meaning.”

“Little bit?” Spike turns remorseful in seeing her being used by The First.

“I need a champion, or at least someone who can take out a champion.” Dawn smiles at him, damned if Spike isn’t now hypnotized by The First now. “You hate him don’t you?”

Spike regretfully answers. “Yes, I do.”

“He’s taken everything away from you, you are the much more evolved vampire, you loved her even without a soul, but still she would choose you over her. That’s my sister for you.” Dawn winks at him.

“I don’t know.” Spike is now choked up. “I love her.”

The First now takes the final form of Drusilla. “But she took away my little animal, it’s about time you took it back from her, Spikey.”

Spike stands there looking perplexed, but then a smile comes across his face, like William the Bloody has just re-entered his body. “You have yourself a deal.”

Thanks, here's some more:
“I thought I told you that you need to get out of this place.” Buffy stares down the figure that welcomed her as her and Angel entered the house.

“Buffy, you’re my daughter,” Joyce Summers begins. “I’m not going to lose you too. Hi Angel.” Buffy’s mom smiles at her daughters former boyfriend.

“Hi Mrs. Summers.” Angel looks very unsure on what’s going on.

“So you would rather die?” Buffy looks over at Jesse who is in the dining room, looking very guilty with his eye patch. He was supposed to drive himself and Joyce out of town. “Mom, I almost lost you once. I’m not going to chance it again. Plus, you can’t fight.”

Joyce pulls her closer to her. “I’ve watched you fight evil for the last seven year, I’ve seen you lose so many people, I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit around this time. I’m helping any way I can.”

“Sorry Buff,” Jesse begins from the living room. “Your mom out smarted me, looks like we are both in this together.”

Buff considers her options for a moment and realizes she has no choice. “Okay, you two can stay. But you better come out of this alive.”

Jesse and Joyce nod in acceptance. Jesse looks over at Angel with a distrusting gaze. “So what’s he doing here?”

“I’m her champion.” Angel taunts to Jesse, the two have never gotten along.

“He brought us a very powerful item actually.”

“What?” Jesse asks. “The white diamonds he’s wearing around his neck?”

“That’s a very pretty necklace Angel.” Joyce comments with awe.

Angel shrugs. “Uh, thanks Joyce. Can I use your phone? Got to phone in Lindsey, see if I can get you some help over here.”

Joyce smiles warmly. “Of course, you remember where it is right?”

“Yeah, thanks.” Angel wanders over to the kitchen to phone into L.A.

Oz and Tara walk down the stares holding hands, happy to see that Buffy is okay with Joyce and Jesse staying for the big fight. Buffy thinks that them getting together after Willow’s death was very awkward, but still kind of cute. It sure was a surprise to the rest of the slay squad, but it’s been a trying few months for them. Especially with a member of ‘The Quartet’ living in the house as a hostage, the group who was responsible for the death of Willow. Oz looks around sniffs for a few seconds. “I smell Angel.”

“Yeah,” Buffy begins. “ He’s come to help and he’s bringing friends with us.”

“That’s a relief. We are running out of potentials, the bringers got another today.”

“Who?” Buffy asks.
“Kennedy.” Oz answers with no expression on his face.

“Crap,” Buffy thinks that is not good at all. “She was one of the more adept ones. So that leaves us with how many?”

“Seventeen” Jesse answers

“Poor girls.” Joyce says very upset.

“Yeah, with losing girls and Caleb eliminating Wood. It doesn’t look too good for us, does it?” Jesse looks very doubtful.

“Yeah, time is running out.” Tara also looks negative about an upcoming victory. “We need to think of something fast.”

“Well,” Angel begins from the doorway to the kitchen. “We have that mysterious scythe that is supposedly an ancient weapon for the slayer and the slayer alone to use. And we have my amulet here. That’s a start.”

“We just need to figure a way to use them against The First.” Oz speculates holding Tara closer to him on the edge of the stairs.

“So,” Jesse begins to pace around the house thinking up an idea. “We have two somewhat powerful weapons, two slayers, a handful of mini slayers, a witch, a werewolf….”

“And a god.” A voice from behind Angel speaks out, everyone turns to see Ben standing in the kitchen with a determined look on his face. Buffy looks painfully upset to see the man she fooled around with right behind Angel. Ben walks past Angel giving him a very smug look, he also smiles at Buffy’s mom.

“Ben, leave, you can’t do anything.” Buffy stands tall next to her biggest mistake.

“Yeah, your just a human.” Jesse points out to him.

“But you still need all the help you can get.” He looks at Buffy with longing eyes as Jesse grabs the nearest weapon, ready to shoot at him. “Put it down Jesse!”

“Why should I?” Jesse asks with vengeful eyes, but eventually puts it down.

“Because you probably can’t aim that well with only one eye.” Ben explains.

Buffy looks into the eyes of her last lover and is overcome with rage, if it wasn’t for him, Dawn and Giles wouldn’t be dead. “You have two minutes to explain to me how you could help.”

“Okay,” Ben begins looking at the whole group, Angel behind in the doorway, Oz and Tara on the stairs, Jesse in the dining room, Joyce now on the couch and Buffy right in front of him. “First off, I did what I had to do two years ago, I was protecting my own ass Buffy, I’m sorry that you had to lose your sister or whatever she was."

“Ben,” Joyce begins. “Cut the crap, we all know what you did and quite frankly, sympathy is the last thing you should be looking for. You might have saved my life once, but that doesn’t forgive that you just gave Dawn up to that monster that lives in you.”

“Okay, okay, anyways, troubles brewing, you guys need me.”

“Yeah,” Jesse scoffs. “That’s it. We need you to what? Turn into Glory and kill us all.”

“He’s got a point.” Tara adds from the stairway. “Your more of a hazard than a help.”
Ben back tracks a little bit. “Okay, maybe you don’t need me, but I do know someone besides me that wants to help.” Ben has a smirk on his face as he begins to morph into Glory. Everybody gets into battle positions to face the hell god one last time.

“Glory,” Buffy grabs the scythe, prepared to slash the fashionable ruler of hell dimension. “I can take you out now. It is not the time to be causing trouble, you failed, just let it die.

“Actually slayer,” Glory begins strutting around Buffy with a wide smile. “I’m your partner now. I’m here to help destroy The First.”

“What?” Jesse asks shocked at this revelation.

“Yeah right.” Buffy begins. “How am I supposed to trust you?”

“Oh,” Glory smiles. “You don’t have to trust me. But you can trust that I want The First eliminated, so I can plan MY world domination.”

“How do we know your not just working for The First?” Oz asks.

Glory begins to laugh at the werewolf. “Me, I’d rather die then work as a pawn for The First. Hell, I’d rather team up with you losers than be one of The First’s minions. I’m a God, not a pawn, something you all should remember when you are my slaves licking my boots.”

“What makes you think we aren’t just going to kill that human counter part of yours whenever we get the chance?” Angel asks from the hallway.

Glory lights up at the notice of this tall dark and handsome gentleman. “Ooooh, who is this piece of man? He’s so…. Hey he’s a vampire?” She gets herself out of the trance. “Do you really want to risk probably your strongest ally in this game?” Now she looks right at the slayer. “Buffy, you need me.”

Buffy, being the leader, thinks this over. She also realizes that she has nothing else to lose now. “Your right.”

Jesse slams his fist into the walls. “Buffy, you can’t possibly want her on our side, she killed Anya, remember?” Jesse still misses his old girlfriend.

“But she is right, she would be a good ace up our sleeve for this battle.”

Glory smiles. “Good to see you have come to your senses. Now you have a God on your side, how does that feel?”

“Like we just made a deal with the devil.” Oz answers for the rest of the group.

Um, this fan fic isn't that wacky, but great idea Rocket. And let the wackiness ensue, next part is rated PG-13:

Faith sits in the back yard smoking on a cigarette thinking about what is to come in the next couple of days. She has been training as a slayer for most of her life now, her watcher, Wesley Wyndam Pryce, about five years ago actually, so her training stopped there. Most of those five years she spent running from Konkistos, that ended a few months ago, when Buffy and Kendra found her. Then came the Bringers and the Turok-Han, and now she’s here actually fighting for a cause. She does care about the cause, but she doesn’t want to let anyone else know that she is worried about their chances of survival. And what if she is the next to be called as a slayer? Probably not, she’s too old. But still, Faith has became aroused by the fighting as of late, in fact it pleasures her to be killing the undead as an occupation. She might not be ready, but she’ll never let the rest know. But all the worrying has made her hot and bothered, she’s wishes there was a guy around right at this very moment.
“Uh hi,” Jonothan, the last remaining member of the nerdy crime group known as the quartet comes up behind her. She looks at him, the short little guy doesn’t have much going for him, this guy has always looked like he lacked confidence since she has came to the house. “You can’t get any sleep either?”

“How could you on a night like this?” Faith looks at him with tempting eyes, she moves over to make a space for him. “We are going to be fighting to are deaths pretty soon, how can anyone be able to get the Z’s?”

He takes a seat next to the really hot potential. “ I guess your right, although we all must be crazy for going into this. Pretty much suicide.”

“Yeah, pretty much, but I love the idea of the word ‘suicide mission’, like this is finally it. Time to make up or break up, right?”

“I guess.” Jonothan is very shy around the sexed up would be slayer, but he grudges on.

Faith looks at the beautiful night sky and thinks for a while. “So what are you still doing here? I mean your not a potential, fighting evil isn’t your calling, you could just leave.”

Jonothan shrugs. “I guess, I’m doing it because nothing is my true calling, I’ve never felt like I belonged anywhere. Now’s my chance to actually be something, I know I’m going to die, but at least I’ll die for a good cause. Plus, Buffy saved my ass a lot.”

“Eh, B, she ain’t nothing special.” Faith tries to play off that she has no respect for Buffy, but she really does.

“Well, to me she is. So, I’m willing to give up my life for her cause. I know that I probably won’t be that helpful in the final battle, at least I’ll be there to the end.” Faith looks very pleased with his response, almost turned on. “Plus, the last cause I was involved in just got me in trouble.”

“Oh yeah, you were in some crime syndicate or something right?”

“Yeah, it was me, some computer genius, and two demon summoning brothers, their all dead now.” Jonothan looks remorseful at this.

“Yeah, didn’t the leader of that group kill Buffy’s witch friend?” Faith who really doesn’t care asks.

“Yeah, Warren did and he paid ten fold for it. Her child hood friend Jesse ran him over with a car, several times. Something that even Tara or Oz wouldn’t do. Me, Tucker and Andrew got out of town after that.” He pauses for a moment.

“Go on, I guess this is story hour.” Faith takes another drag of her smoke and blows it into the face of Jonothan.

“So, anyways, Tucker begins to get these vision or so we thought and decided to destroy the seal underneath the high school. It was actually The First tempting him, so we go down there and Tucker kills Andrew, spilling his own brother’s blood on the seal.” This is always the hard part for him, because this was his mistake. “ Of course, I didn’t know what was going on, so I killed Tucker before he killed me. If Andrew’s blood wasn’t enough, both of their’s was. So I opened the seal for The First to summon his first Turok-Han.”

“Wow, that sucks. But at least your still alive, your five by five.” Faith tries to cheer him up.

“At least for now, but maybe not in the next couple of days.” Jonothan now looks sad again.

“Cheer up, we’ll probably all be dead in the next couple of days.” She begins rubbing his back, he is very taken aback by this. “Just relax.”

“Relax for what?” Jonothan is now very confused on what she is doing. She begins kissing his neck.

“We’re going to get dirty.” She begins to nibble on his ear, she doesn’t really find him attractive but she needs to get her worries out on someone and there are no vampires around.

“We are?” Jonothan sits there very afraid of what she is doing to him. He doesn’t know how to do anything. “But I’m a….”

“I know. Just stay calm, it won’t hurt. Well, if you don’t want to, it’s your choice.” She throws the nerdy ‘Quartet’ member onto the grass and begins making out with him. He does his best to hold in the screams of joy that will be having soon and he keeps it in as she pulls off his shirt. Sure, he’s going to die, but at least he’s going to go out with a bang.

“I tink we might actually have a chance now.” Kendra speaks in her native accent from the kitchen of the Summer’s house. She looks over at Jesse, Angel, and Joyce.“My potentials are ready to put their lives on the line.”

Jesse sits on the counter drinking his coffee, very doubtful of what is to come. “ You see, that’s the point I don’t like, we are sending these young girls off to die.”

“They are chosen to one day be slayers. They knew the risk.” Kendra defends her line.

“DAMMIT!” Joyce blurts out, Jesse, Angel and Kendra turn their heads to Mrs. Summers. “No, they didn’t, they had men with no chase them into this. They had no choice what so ever, it was either live or die for them, Kendra.”

“But they are slayers, they should be proud.”

“What they should be is scared.” Joyce gives her a stern look. “Wouldn’t you be scared if you were their age and being chased by the first evil ever on this earth. And the only way to get away is to go off on a suicide mission and be drilled by a hard ass vampire slayer with a silly accent.”

“Now Joyce, that was a little harsh.” Angel tries to calm down Buffy’s overprotective mom.

“No, Angel, I won’t.” Joyce snaps at the only vampire with a soul. “ All those nights I spent worried about Buffy and if she would survive, just for this stupid mission that you have no choice over. And you know what it cost us?”

“What?” Kendra asks.

“Everything, her sister, her watcher, her best friend.” Joyce says this with so much strength and passion, Jesse and Angel are taken aback at how strong she is being.

“A slayer is not supposed to have friends.” Kendra defends.

“But a normal girl should, you would be so much happier if you were to live a normal life. And not as militant as you are. And over the last few years that you’ve known Buffy, you still don’t know what you have been missing out on.”

“I guess I don’t.” Kendra replies, then leaves the kitchen to go train for the big battle.
“Some people never learn.” Joyce finishes up her coffee. “But I’m off to bed now, I’ll at least try to get some sleep.”

Jesse hops off the counter and smiles. “ Good night Buffy’s mom.”

“Night, Mrs. Summers.” Angel waves. Jesse and Angel just stare at eachother for a few moments, both don’t really get along. But Jesse figures that Angel isn’t that bad anymore, they have both matured over the years.

“So,” Jesse begins. “You got some of your guys to come on down for this final battle?”

“Yeah, still not sure it’s going to be enough.” Angel is very worried at the outcome of this fight.

“Is Cordy coming down?” Jesse asks about his one time big crush.

“No, I’m only bringing in my top guys for this. I’m risking my life, I’m not going to risk hers.” His eyes fill with emotion when he talks about his wife. “Or my child’s for that matter.”

“So, I take it Angel investigations is going very well?” Jesse asks.

“Yeah, I have about thirty of the best in the city working for me now.” Angel is very humble about his business sky rocketing. “But again, you know this is a losing situation right, Jesse?”

“Yeah, yeah.” Jesse rolls his eyes. “How many times have I heard that before?”

“I’m serious, I don’t think anyone is going to be walking out of this one alive. Cordy had a vision about it.” Angel is very strained. “That’s how I knew about the amulet and where to get it from, she has become very powerful.”

“Angel,” Jesse is now very worried. “What did Cordy see?”

“Nothing good, just a waste land of dead potential slayers and other fighters.” Angel shakes his head.

“I think I’m going to throw up” Jesse says after looks into the backyard.

“Yes, I know, it’s very grave.” Angel doesn’t get it yet.

“No, not that. Look outside.” Angel without thinking peers out the window to see Faith and Jonothan in a very awkward position.

“I think I need to wash….” Angel thinks about he’s going to say, disgusted by the scene that’s going on outside. “Everything.”

“This must be the end of the world.” Jesse remarks as both leave the kitchen. “Happy for the little guy though.”

“Yee-haw” Jonothan yells from the backyard.

“I could have gone without hearing that.” Angel groans to Jesse. But shortly his mind wanders to Buffy, what is she doing right now. Who is she spending one of her last nights with, if anyone. He hopes it’s not Ben or even Spike for that matter. Least he knows it’s not Jonothan.

Here's more, not much, but still:“So, this is the end isn’t it?” Tara looks back at her boyfriend Oz in what used to be Willow’s bedroom, but before that it was also Dawn’s old pad and even longer ago it was an empty storage.

As usual, Oz makes no reaction to her. “It’s the end for one side, either us or the first, but I’m willing to bet that it’s going to be the end for us.” He never lies. He puts his hand on her cheek and just smiles. “But worrying won’t do you any good.”

“I know, but I just can’t help think about it. I’m actually gotten to the point where I’m anticipating it, like I just want to get this done and over with.” Tara has always been shy and quiet, but she is a loud mouth compared to Oz.

“It will be soon enough.” Oz remarks. “Buffy says we will probably be striking tomorrow night.”

She stares into his eyes for a few minutes, she’s been finding herself getting lost in who he is for the last couple of weeks now. They became official over the summer after Willow’s death, it was hard for both of them to do, but they knew this would be the way Willow would want it. But now, she actually does feel the way Willow felt when she was with him. She stares at him. “I love you.”

He gives her a very blank expression and a very blank answer. “ And I will always love her.”

Tara shrugs her head very embarrased by not at all surprised. “I know.”

“But SHE loved you.” He begins rubbing the arm of his girl as they hold each other in bed. “You should have known that.”

“What?” She has no idea what he is talking about, but she pulls him closer. She finds herself needing him around.

“Never mind.” He’s been hiding that truth forever, but he knew ever since Willow met her wiccan friend in college. But he was somehow able to keep her with him, but not her heart, Willow’s heart always went out to Tara. Yeah, it killed him inside, but he wouldn’t let anyone know, that’s not him, he doesn’t lose his cool, too often.

“How do you think it will be?” Tara asks in her lover’s arms.

“How what will be?”

“The battle tomorrow night?” She asks very inquisitive.

“The only thing I know is that I will be blowing up something this time around. Buffy’s special mission for me.” Oz answers.

She kisses his cheek. “Do me a favor?”

“Yeah?” He strokes her hair with a half smile.

“Come out of this alive.” She doesn’t ask, she tells him.

“I can’t promise that.” He doesn’t really want to actually. “But I will make sure you walk out of that battle.” They both say nothing as they get closer to each other and begin making out on the bed that once belonged to Willow.

“Alright girls.” Jesse says walking down the steps of the basement. “It’s lights out, now.”

The girls who have been talking about the upcoming battle look at him with rebellious looks , there’s just a handful of them now. Jesse’s heart goes out to him, they are going to be something that most young teenage girls shouldn’t have to do ever. They are pretty much going to be cannon fodder, he knows it, Buffy knows it and more importantly, they know it. And there are a few that are very strong in heart and those are the few that stand up to Jesse. Shannon, Molly, Vi and Chloe look at him with great defiance. Chloe is the first to stand up to Buffy’s long time friend. “Sorry, but we are not going to sleep tonight. There’s no possible way we can.”

“Girls, I hate to argue, but….”

“But what?” Molly begins with her cockney accent. “Faith isn’t down here yet.”

“Um,” These girls are too young to know what Faith is doing or who Faith is doing. “She’s busy training. Plus, she’s the oldest potential, she’s can do whatever she wants.”

“That’s not very fair.” Shannon spouts at Jesse.

“Kendra’s rules, ladies.” He wonder’s why he is defending that dictator. But then he changes his mind, these girls are very scared of what’s to come and none of the adults have been very sympathetic to their feelings. They just didn’t have the time to care, and that was rude. “Your right, I can’t even get any sleep and I have done stuff like this before.” He begins to walk down the stairs towards the girls ready to share some stories.

“Yeah, right.” Vi thinks he’s bluffing.

“Really, did Buffy ever tell you the time she defeated The Mayor from using a big demon statue named Acathla to suck the world into hell?” He chuckles a little at that old memory.

“No,” Vi answers for the other girls. “Buffy doesn’t really talk to us much. We usually have to listen to Kendra bark orders at us.”

“Yeah, she was in put in charge of you girls because she has such a great way with people.” Jesse says with sarcasm. He takes a seat in front of the girls and begins to share stories of his past. “Anyways, the night before we had to face The Mayor was so terrifying and I’m not the one who had to fight him like Buffy or cast a protection spell like Willow and I wasn’t kidnapped like Giles. But still, me and Harmony, my girlfriend at the time, we were terrified. But fortunately, Buffy came through once more and Willow’s spell came through without a hitch.”

“Your just making that up.” Molly claims. “Aren’t you?”

Jesse leans even closer to the potentials. “All of it is true. But that didn’t even come close to the fear I had when Buffy, Giles, Willow and I did a conjoining spell to destroy a half breed machine and a mad scientist named Maggie Walsh. Then there was a time when Ethan Raine….”

“That’s the sorcerer guy right?” Chloe asks.

“Yeah, he later became head of the Watcher’s Council.” Jesse explains. In fact, he tells them stories for the rest of the evening until most of them are fast asleep, he doesn’t know if his stories were boring or that they were just tired, he just figures it was probably both. But at least someone treated them like human beings for once instead of what they really are, lambs for the slaughter.

Sorry, in this universe, Andrew is dead, along with alot of fan favorites. And yes, , Andrew is my favorite character in all of Buffy-verse, but I figured I would give Jono a chance to shine. Along with most of the cast of this very weird retelling of chosen. Here's a short little scene but it's pivotal:

She stares at herself in the mirror and can’t even smile anymore, Buffy Summers is going into her seventh apocalypse. This time it seems like this the end this time around, at least for her. As a matter of fact, she wants it to be this all to end. Her whole life she was cursed with this, for what? For a couple of old men who couldn’t fight the demons themselves, that’s what it comes down to basically. And because of those men, her and her army are going to march into the hell mouth to get massacred. For a mission she never understood, for a mission that her traitor watcher never understood. This mission has left her all alone in this world, at least when it came to finding a male counter part. Her first love dumped her and ended up hooking up with a snotty girl she used to go to school with. Then she met Riley, one of the best guys she ever met, she even gave up her virginity to him, he did nothing but treat her right. And how did she repay him? She had an affair with a doctor who ended up being her arch nemesis at the time, but she guesses it was her natural instinct to go after relationships that are unatural. That’s why Riley didn’t work, it wasn’t what she was used to, it wasn’t supernatural. And now here she is, the eve of the last battle and no one to spend it with. Then she spins around to see the figure in the doorway of her bedroom, the figure has a huge smile on her.

“So, you doing some pre-meditation before the battle?” Glory says with a smirk. “Let me tell you Buffy, it probably won’t work. The odds are stacked up against you.”

“And you like it that way don’t you?” Buffy asks defensive. “You are only on our side so you can eliminate both parties. Finally, you actually thought of something smart.”

“Hey, we all have our moments. But my question is what are you going to do?” Glory asks closing the door to the bedroom. This conversation needs to be private. “ Are you going to march in there with your sad little gang, your champion with the medallion and get yourselves killed. What’s your plan Buffy?”

“Why should I tell you? Your just here to even the playing field for us, if the circumstances weren’t any different you wouldn’t even be here.”

“But they are and I am.” Glory’s face glows with excitement. “You don’t even have a full set plan do you?”

“I have an idea for a good plan.” She’s lying, all she knows is that she is going to need the school blown up.

“No, you don’t. You are going to march those little girls off to their death aren’t you? But not just their death but yours as well. I can’t believe it, the slayer has finally give up,” Buffy’s face turns grim, Glory is right, that actually was her plan. “Your sister was taken away from you, so you are making these girls pay that. That is so evil, I like it.” Glory continues to glow.

“What else am I supposed to do Glory? It’s better off this way, that way all the other girls who were supposed won’t have to be. It is unfair that we aren’t given a choice, I don’t wish that curse on anyone. I wasn’t even given a choice.” Buffy takes a seat on her bed, her eyes watering.

“So, you are planning on destroying the whole slayer line for the betterment of the world.” Suddenly, Glory changes shape, she has become Ben once more. He notices that Buffy is in tears and takes a seat next to her. He puts his arm around her and she actually takes comfort in him. “It’s okay, you have no choice. You have to do it this way.”

“But,” Buffy begins. “I will make sure The First gets taken out in the proccess. Does that make me a better person?”

“No,” Ben says. “It really doesn’t. But it’s okay, it has to be. What can you do? Make every potential a slayer?” He chuckles.

“Yeah right, there is no way I would give that power to a girl who doesn’t want it or who wouldn’t use it right.” She nuzzles closer to her once lover.

“If only there was another way, I know you would find it. I believe in you Buffy.” He smiles liking the position he is in.
Then something sparks in her mind, she knows that she doesn’t have to be alone, not for tonight. “Ben, will you stay with me tonight?” She doesn’t like him nor trust him, but she needs to fight the dark void somehow. He doesn’t even need to say yes, she knows that he wants to stay and he does. And within a couple of seconds, they are as one.
