Pitra was born in a glacial valley, in what is today Central Russia. As a child she was taken in a raid on her village, and sold to migrant traders.
A series of tragedies fell on whatever village she landed in. She was captured sold and resold moving steadily east until she found herself in an area towards what is today the Sea of Okhotsk
Puberty occured early in that age. She was called as a slayer in her eleventh year. On the day of her calling a large meteorite struck the earth near the village of her owners at the time. All in the area were killed, except Pitra, who was discovered by a roaming band of hunters. They took her to a group of woman to the north who had a community that protected and nurtured "special girls".
