OMG!! I just got a FREE Prophecy Girl Buffy!!!!

HOLY CRAP! I can't believe my good luck! I was at work yesterday, and a coworker came in with her kids. She, another coworker, and myself were sitting around in one of the offices and the coworker without kids said "Let's see if I can find something they can play with. Mind you these are 2-year-old triplets, so I was thinking "What in the world are we going to have here that they can play with?" Lo and behold, she goes into a storage closet and comes out with a mint in the box Prophecy Girl Buffy doll fom Sideshow Collectibles!!!!
I nearly fell out of my chair! I literally gasped and managed to choke out "Where did you get that?!" She explained that this particular company that we sometimes order from had sent it one time in a box full of promotional items to try to get us to order more stuff from them, and proceeded to tell me it had been sitting in that closet for two years! My eyes nearly bugged out of my head!! First of all, here this doll had been sent to them at no charge, secondly, it had been stuck in the back of some closet, and these people clearly weren't Buffy fans to leave it there!
Seeing my face, my coworkers kind of exchanged a look, so I explained to them that this particular doll is now sold old and that you have to buy them off Ebay. When I said that I used to collect Buffy stuff, the coworker gave me the doll for FREE and said just not to mention anything to my boss. So I got a NRFB Prophecy Girl Buffy for FREE! I'm telling you, it was like Christmas in October for me. 😀 I'm so excited and so proud of her! 🙂 Here's a couple pics, one of my daughter ogling her. My 6-year-old loves Buffy and begged me for her, but of course I refused. LOL I explained that she is a special collectible doll and we will never take her out of the box.

LOL Well I work for a community action agency, so I was shocked that anything like that would be laying around. I feel so lucky that no one else I work with is a Buffy fan! LOL

wow that is lucky! not as lucky as me. you see last week I went in to pick up my buffy comic that steve(owner) had put back for me. when there on the table as you walked threw the door sat a big box. It wasnt fully closed so I took a peek I must have squeled cuz he came up to me smileing and told me that he thought that Id like them. In the box was Buffy Prohecy Girl, Vampire Spike,Vampire Willow,Xander,Subway Spike,and Williow Rosenberg dolls in there boxes and in mint form. he said that a girl came in and was selling them so she could go to school that she was in tears cuz she had to part with them. I felt bad for her. when I asked how much she wanted for them ( I was thinking Ill never be able to get them). he said she didnt say a price but she did at lest want 30.00. my mouth hi the floor. he said that he didnt take them out cuz he knew id be there today and cuz I was his best customer he said 20.00 and I could have them and he would make sure that the girl knew that they where going to a good home. I told him I would pay the 30.00 but he said not that hed give her 50.00 plus my 20.00 and that was when I took them I was so happy lugging the big box out to my car I jumped up and down at my luck. they are my fave buffy things and I wont let anyone touch them.

I seriously have to move to the US one day, if only just to get cool stuff like that!

And yes, I do think it's fate. All through high school, I collected Buffy memorabilia. I still have most of it, including the entire collection of Barqs Root Beer cans with the casts' faces on them, all the original episode ads from TV Guide, all the posters from the fan club, etc. My very first purchase from Ebay was a Buffy alarm clock! LOL But somehow, I was never able to get any Buffy dolls. Back then, you know, I had no job so I had to rely on Christmas and birthday gifts to get any of the dolls, and my parents never got me any. I remember the first time I saw a Sideshow doll... I nearly cried, I wanted one so bad! And now I had a limited edition doll just handed to me?! It definitely was meant to be. 🙂 I asked my hubby if I could start collecting the whole set and he was like "Maybe all but the premium ones that cost $250 a pop!" LMAO

Plus, you're insanely lucky. I had to pay like $25 for mine. (Which, granted, isn't all that expensive, but hey...free is always better! 😛)

LOL Yeah $25 isn't bad at all, but I'm still happy I didn't have to pay it! 😉 I saw on the Sideshow website that she went for around $45 but now is sold out. I saw some on Ebay for cheaper, though. 🙂

Nah Happy for you.. I love Buffy and all, but i am the kind of person that refuses to by collectibles that doesn't look like the persons they are supposed to look like.

And to me that doll doesn't look like her.

I see what you mean... My hubby said the same thing. I think it resembles her, but her nose is a little too big and her eyes are too wide. The sculpting could have been a little better, but overall I think they did an awesome job with her. 🙂 I especially love the little touches like the scratches on her chest. How cool!
