Question Was Dark Angel Any Good?

This is something I've been wondering about as well.

Thanks for feeding my lazy and making this thread, ITD.

I really love Dark Angel. Jessica Alba is a great lead and the rest of the cast fits together nicely, too (Mr. Ackles, yum yum...).

The first season is great action and entertainment with lots of backstory and the second season has lots of intriguing ideas too. It is kind of lagging in some other parts (one of the major plot points was getting on my nerves, so... but the rest was good) but the awesome final three to four episode totally make up for it.
Though it ends on a major cliffhanger thanks to cancellation. 🙁

You should definitely give it a try. 🙂

One warning though: Don't read the novels. Just don't. They're Bad with a capital B.

I really liked Dark Angel. There are major differences in both seasons. The first one is more character driven and quite slow moving, while the second goes far more into sci-fi territory and is quite fast-paced. Both seasons are great though.
I haven't seen the show since it originally aired, so I don't know if it has aged well, but hopefully.
Also Jessica Alba is brilliant in the role as Max, her best work. I always felt she forgot how to act when the show got canceled. 😀

One of my favorite shows ever.
Was so sad when it ended after only two season.
If you like the other great thing by James Cameron (Terminator) then I'm pretty sure you'll like DA.
Sometimes it can get a little cheesey but the awesomeness of it all makes up for that entirely.

Terminator series is one of my absolute favs
I vaguely remember the show. Denmark showed a few episodes and then cancelled. Which I find annoying. I liked what I saw.

No where near as good as Buffy or Angel. Dark Angel had a few good episodes, and is good for doing your laundry and having on in the back ground, but to actual follow - you can't take it seriously.

Never watched it when it was on the air, but got the DVDs. I was expecting more from a James Cameron-created show, but for what it is, it's entertaining. I got into it. If you think of Max as basically a comic book superhero, it works.

It's interesting to see a lot of the actors on that show that went on to other stuff. Ackles of course, but also Rainn Wilson, Tyler Labine, and lots of Battlestar actors...Kandyse McClure, Aaron Douglas, I think Grace Park was in there somewhere for a minute...

Also Alessandro Juliani from BSG
The show is ok and definitely watchable. I wouldn't call it great though. But it's easy to watch. And if you want to know which show is best, DA or Alias this is the thread for you. Dark Angel vs Alias Ok, not that much to read but I like to link to old threads. 😛

Michael Weatherly is too big to be mentioned (not like he's Jessica Alba famous) or you forgot? One of the leads on NCIS.

Oh, yeah...
I really liked Dark Angel, it had a good premises to the show with it being set in the future and showing what could possibly happen in a few years time. It was such a shame that it got cancelled as by the end of season 2 it was really coming in to its own. I'd recommend it and not just because Jessica Alba's in it.

I just remembered one thing I always liked about it because of what Fusion2 said. With it being set in the future you always had the possibility that it COULD happen. I know, it sounds stupid and most US-Americans probably wouldn't want it to happen but the possibilities were there.
I just remembered that one of the important dates mentioned on the show was June 1, 2009
- the terrorists dropping the bomb which made the USA into practically a third world country
. It kind of takes some of the fun out of it now that that date has passed.
If that makes sense to anyone but me.

I love dark angel it was an awesome show! I really liked the second season, even though most didnt! I think they had to change the show allot as before season 2 aired 9/11 happened so they had to change the direction of the show and down play the whole America destroyed by a terrorist attack, but be warned the end is very clifhangery so if you hate open endings you won't like da, other then that I highly recomend it!

I have watched several episodes on Sci-Fi, even though the channel showed them out of order. The show seem pretty good, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll watch it in order. Maybe someday, now that I've finished watching Buffy and Angel.
