Cordy and Angel Appreciation Thread #2: "I'm gonna get you back. I need you back."

We ship Cangel.
Why? Simply because she made him smile, and he made her a better person.

A thread for those who ship the friendship, or the undying love between these two champions.

I ship Cangel because even when he didn't know he loved her, he still thought of her as his family. He loved her long before he realized it.

I ship Cangel because they brought out the best in eachother, and made eachother happy, that is what a relationship is supposed to do.

I ship because Cangel because

1.) Angel and Cordy's relationship is based on trust between two good friends, if not best friends. Their entire relationship then blossoms before our eyes and we see true love develop.
2.) Cordy becomes a better person because of Angel. She sacrifices everything for him in his fight. Her dreams as an actress, her humanity (becomes part-demon), and ultimately her life. All for her love of Angel and his purpose in helping the helpless.
3.) Angel becomes a better person/vampire because of Cordy. Besides her visions, Angel comes to rely on her strength, motivation, and encouragement to fight the good fight. No one, not even Buffy, ever did that for him.
4.) The only person who makes Angel smile like that is Cordy, even in BtVS...and it's so adorable 🙂
5.) You can tell Angel truly loved Cordy, maybe even more than Buffy (yes, I said it) because of how devastated he was after losing Cordy in "You're Welcome." It was then so hard for him to even mention her name because it brought back so many painful feelings. He was angry for the demon taking over her, he was sad that she was gone, etc. It seemed like Cordy's death had a bigger impact on Angel, more so than Buffy's death. As Angel mentioned, Buffy's death didn't kill him. But, Cordy's death always seemed to eat away at him.
6.) It gives Angel someone to be happy with, so Buffy can be with Spike 😉

3. He'd do anything to protect her
4. The best relationships start on a basis of friendship
5. She brought out the man inside him

8. Did you see how happy he was at the end of Disharmony?
9. He would literally be crazy without her

No but honestly, I think theirs was a mature, growing love that Angel and Buffy never really had. It was always interesting where their relationship was going to go next and they are just too damn cute together. 🙂

I ship Cangel because they were very cute together, and it's cool and unique to have the cursed vampire get with the former queen bee, because we never would have expected that! Also, honestly I thought Angel loved Cordelia the most out of all of his former lovers (and yes when I say former lovers it includes Buffy), because Angel was always happy around her. And I'm a big Dangel fan, but I feel like Cordy and Angel were very honest with eachother and they knew eachother alittle more.

I like the Cangel moment in "Offspring" where Cordelia punches Angel and he pretends it didn't hurt him, very funny moment typical of their exchanges during the show.

Also in the same episode i find it amusing when Cordy says she loves him and Angel thinks she means romanticially and his face is funny and he says "Did you know about this".

Also in "Disharmony" when he buys her clothes and they both do that little dance, i could watch that over and over again.

Lastly in "Epiphany" when Angel catches her after she gets a vision, just a really sweet moment and you know from then on that Angel cares deeply for her.

I'm not what you could call an actual Cangle shipper, but I always saw their relationship as much more mature than Bangel. Plus, as a couple, they couple grew and evolved together. Angel changed from a brooding recluse (my opinion, not necessarily anyone else's) into the leader of a very powerful and efficient team of demon fighters, and I truly believe that, if Charisma had stayed on the show until the end of the series, Season 5 would have been THE defining Cangel season.

Plus, while Bangel was more the "There, there, I love you, I'm here to comfort you. We'll just sit here together and hug until it's all better," kind of relationship, Cangel was more about "Get up off of your brooding a** and get back in the fight." Cordy never allowed Angel to take himself too seriously.

I'm a Cangel shipper, I love the way the friendship developed and the way they helped each other change and mature. Really disappionted that they never properly got together.

I ship Cangel because they are great together 🙂

YES. Word.

While I'm not denying that what B/A had was powerful, what C/A had was magical. Two friends fell in love because they loved who the other person has become. It was a natural progression.

I am a Cangel shipper, loud and proud. Cordy's the one who guides his mission, who gives it back to him when he loses it. Not to mention they've got an incredible dynamic- anticipating each other's moves and wordlessly communicating strategy. Ahhh. It's just amazing.

I ship Cangel because...

1. No one ever made Angel and Cordelia as happy as they did eachother.

2. And no one ever really took care of them in their darkest moments like they did for eachother.

3. "I'm gonna get you back. I need you back." Angel's never needed anyone like he needs Cordelia.

4. They survived betral and jealousy, good times and bad times, and through it all, through the happiest moments and the saddest, most painful ones, they stuck by eachother or at least always came back to eachother, no matter what. Nothing could ever damage them so badly that they would ever abandon eachother. That's true love and friendship in it's purest form.

Nuff said.

Wish it would've had that scene from the Buffy season 2 Halloween episode though. That would've been perfect for this.

I ship Cangel because....

1. Cordy and Angel are made for each other.
2. Cordy make Angel smile.
3. Cordy grew and matured alongside Angel.
4. They are best friends.
5. Angel would do anything for Cordy, and vice versa.
6. Their chemistry is awesome.
7. Their relationship made me appreciate both characters much more. I didn't really like either on BtVS.
8. It's probably the pair I can relate the most with, when it comes to romance/love.
9. They could actually be together without Angel worrying about Cordelia's future(like with Buffy), considering she wasn't only part of his life because they loved each other. They had the same job. Helping the helpless!

And... that's all I could think of right now. 🙂 We need more people posting in here! Come on fellow Cangel fans, be proud!

I think I would ship cangel above all others because:
1) the intensity and love they share is immense, it makes them better people who together are unstoppable
2) it's the least likely pairing I would have thought about in the early buffy seasons (and spuffy of course) and yet it works so well. It makes me happy when they're together
