Board Downtime

Welcome back everyone

I apologize for the extended downtime. To make an incredibly long story short, someone at our server host made a huge mistake, and all their customers accounts had to be reloaded from backups. Luckily for us, we were on the first server to be completed.

I don't *think* too much was lost. It seems like everything from before noonish Friday is there. I was on vacation but I think the downtime started Friday evening. Sorry if anyone lost anything big.

To their credit, our host worked tirelessly to get us back online and have already put a process in place to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Sounds like some poor technician got the weekend plans ruined...

I feel for them though. Desperately trying to get things back in order again while the inbox quickly fills up with complaining customers who everyone thinks their site is the most important one that absolutely needs to get back online first.

I'm feeling pretty confident that the reason our server got done first is because I didn't complain or open any tickets

That's inexcusable! Especially with how much membership costs.

Nope, everything is working on my end. I'll get on the laptop in a bit and check my Firefox. Maybe clear your cache though?

How do you quantify how popular the site is? Look at the statements of how glad folk are you are back, add to that the law of averages when doing an international poll IE each one person equals 1,000 people. So only then do you realise the site is real good.

I had to edit my bookmarked link to BB before I could get back in but all is five by five now 👍
