Okay, so this apparently featured on Stranger Things recently. I'm posting it here in case anyone gets stimulated to produce a fanvid or fanfiction grounding it in the Buffyverse. Personally, I think this might be a good hook for a Giles pre-Buffy story, but that's just me:

Is that what was presented on screen?

Yes, the scene and episode with it was very emotionally impactful and utilized it in a clever way.

By grounded in the Buffyverse, do you mean using the song for a plot or are you referring to the music video itself being in the Buffyverse?

Thanks for that blast from the past! I loved that song when it came out. I hope being featured in ST will cause a resurgence in its popularity.

I think it would work well for a Bangel fanvid. It even has the line, "Come on, angel"!

Oh, it is. The comments on the YouTube videos of the song are just out of control, and apparently it has sold incredibly well too (via Kate Bush herself!)

I meant both, actually. If anyone wants to use the song to propell a narrative, feel free. If anyone wants to make a fanvid with it as the cue music, also feel free! And I actually sort of like the Placebo version too- darker, slower and more sinister. But being of a certain age, the Kate Bush version is the original one for me. Incidentally, this is the Placebo cover version in full: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-mYX0qKkB8

One of my favourite songs from Kate...it's now officially No. 1 in the UK charts, breaking three chart records. Kate now has the longest ever gap between UK No. 1 hits (44 years between Wuthering Heights in 1978 and this one); the longest time for a song to reach No. 1 (37 years after release); and Kate is now the oldest female artist to make No. 1 (beating Cher when she had Believe at No. 1). I love a pop factoid 😀

My dad would play Kate Bush growing up so proud to say I knew this song before Stranger Things but I'm glad it's become popular and that scene with Max was worthy of the song, it had a lot of meaning to it being the song to remind Max that she has a life to fight for and everything. I love Babooshka by Kate Bush as well.

Babooshka brings back memories. I love the chorus. Great powerful song.

My personal favourite is this one , distills all the great Kate Bush tracks into one psychedelic dirge .

I am delighted that Kate Bush is back . A lot of serious 80s artists kinda got forgotten . It took new things like Stranger Things , or Grand Theft Auto or just plain old adverts to bring them back into the light .

So happy for her . She was ahead of her time as a musician , as a pop star , as a woman in showbusiness . Even though she had performance creds , I always thought of her as a studio musician . I also always credited her studio musicians as part of her rise to fame . She had lots of quality people working with her and she soaked it up like a sponge .

She was destined for success but it's kinda nuts this was her first single to the general public :p .

And this is another evergreen one from the same album. Jig of Life is a very wiccan-themed one, citing the goddess Inanna more than once. It's also quite Irish in its musical expression, as you can hear from the instrumental track. This one would be ideally suited for Buffy's witches, especially Willow and Tara, but possibly also Amy:

This song's getting a rather surprising amount of radio (online & regular) play lately!

And this is the final track from Hounds of Love, Hello Earth, which has always reminded me of that moment in which Willow temporarily finds the Goddess and becomes linked to the integrity of creation, which she is determined to destroy because of her grief and rage at Warren's murder of Tara:

I'm glad this song is getting some more recognition! It's a good one. I have this album actually and listen to it often.

As for a fan vid - there's a few I found on YouTube made for Spuffy. This one has the cover by Placebo, not the original however.
