The Buffies 2019 - Nominations

Forget the BAFTAs or the Academy Awards, we all know which ceremony is the greatest in the business. That's right, it's that time again - for the annual Buffies! Everyone gets dolled up, lets down their hair and parties like it's (The Bronze back in) 1999!

For those that don't know, we have a yearly awards ceremony to celebrate all the wonderful members who make this board what it is. There are twelve awards categories. You can nominate as many people in multiple categories as you like, as long as that member isn't banned. Voting threads will then be set up for everyone to vote and the winners will be named on the night of the Buffies!

Here are the categories for nominations:

GILES AWARD - Most knowledgeable member [Staff Excluded]

CLASS PROTECTOR - BB's Most Helpful member [Staff Excluded]

STORYTELLER AWARD - BB's Best Fanfic writer [Example of work must be submitted]

FAITH AWARD - BB's Coolest Member [Staff Excluded]

SUPERSTAR AWARD - BB's most avid fan [Staff Excluded]

SUNNYDALE ART GALLERY - BB's Best Artist [Example of work must be submitted]

LORNE AWARD - BB's Friendliest Member [Staff Excluded]

SUNNYDALE PRESS AWARD - This Award goes to that member which keeps up with all the latest Whedon news [Staff Excluded]

XANDER/ANYA AWARD - Funniest member/thread [Example of funny must be submitted/Thread]

WINIFRED BURKLE AWARD - BB’s most underrated poster [Staff Excluded]

L'IL PUMPKIN BELLY AWARD - BB's all around cutest member [Staff Excluded]

DOYLE AWARD - Most missed member, who is no longer active [Staff Excluded]

Please PM me with your nominations by 15th January. Voting will begin shortly afterwards to choose your winners!

Yes! Everyone should nominate, vote & take part, it's very much a "the more the merrier" kinda gathering, so thanks for reminding everyone of this ABS

But.... it'll probably be start of Feb, as we'll want two weeks for noms and then we'll probably do two weeks of votes. Date TBC, but probably start of Feb. Will update you in due course....

I remember when I first joined, I had NO idea what the Buffies were. I was curious, but for some reason I felt it wasn't for new people. Plus, I didn't know anyone and was hesitant to "crash the party" as it were.

If I felt that way, you can be sure that a few other people feel the same. Like, "I'm new and what if someone questions my presence at the Buffies? Have I been here long enough to participate?"

For those of you who are a bit hesitant to join us, you should know that you are more than welcome. Please join the party! Every single one of us has been a new member before. And we know it can be a bit daunting to join a group of people you're not familiar with. I mean, look at me! Even though many people think I'm a hardass 😛 I was totally nervous when I first joined.

So, don't be shy! Start posting now, and get a feel for the site. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask staff or another member. We're all family here. A lovingly dysfunctional family. 😅
