Just fyi in the Angel skin I can't read the notifications unless I actually follow the link to it now... I took a screenshot to show what I see if that helps.

It's the opposite for me. I see the notifications until I hover over it when it darkens out.

Meh - it's not perfect but the functionality isn't out there that would do what it really needs to. But it's better than spending all day merging posts.
