Books that influenced you

Gosh, so many...

When I was a child, Charlotte's Web was one of my all time favorite books. My sister, bless her heart, was so patient with me and read it to me over and over. I credit this book to why I'm a vegetarian, and feel so much compassion for animals, and a desire to save them. The book does such a good job humanizing animals, and I think that's an important lesson for kids to learn; that animals feel pain, and emotions as well as humans do, and that they deserve our respect, compassion and care.

Also, in that vein, Micheal Pollen's "In Defense of Food" was eye-opening and I wish everyone would read it.

The Tao of Pooh - Hoff & Shepperd - helped a lot in a dark time of my life.
Memnock the Devil - Anne Rice - made me question the universe and religion.
The Dummies Guide to Bipolar - true but yeah helped a lot!!!

I, Jan Cremer was an old book I read at the age of 13. Definitely opened my eyes! And it made me laugh quite a bit, the author is just wicked.. I can still quote passages. 😄
